PP’s wife probably told him some weird story about baby milk cuz she can’t stand his creeperness and she thought it might keep him away from her tatas awhile longer |
Wtf Vancouver https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2022/1...ction-service/ Garbage and recycling/green bin collection is already a joke here and now since your contractors can’t keep up you’re simply removing a day, fuck off. Lower the taxes or provide me the bigger sized green bin at no additional cost then ffs. |
IMO timing of the green bin service reduction is just really, really bad. As the City News article says -- we are right at the time when families are about to have various gatherings and holiday dinners. So the amount of food waste / food scraps are gonna go up. As far as yard waste is concerned, this year is also a really weird year. Normally, the leaves would have been all gone by Nov. But because of the weird weather we've had this year, the leaves falling time frame has been all screwed up. I'm still getting a good bunch of leaves every week -- enough to easily fill up my bin. And then I have no room for food scraps. |
Yea, I’ll be coming home to a yard that will need 3-4 bins full of leaves and other green waste and now I’ll just be piling it up and taking it every other week? The whole point of not picking up garbage every week is that you’re suppose to figure out how to keep your waste down to what can go into green and recycling.. |
PP want's to convince everyone Canada is a shithole and only he a white knight can save it. |

They also had a period in october where they would take as many bins or bags as you would put out of green waste, I have extra garbage cans, so I would put these out and they took it all. North van was also pretty good, they would come weekly, and take as many bins of green as you would put out. But going to the waste transfer station to drop off green waste costed money. |
I find that I am generating more compost/food waste than actual garbage in the black pail. If they went every other week with black pail garbage, it wouldn't affect me that much at all. Not to mention that things in the black pail tends to be dry, no smell, etc. whereas compost/food waste is nasty, wet, smelly ... |
What I find infinitely annoying in Vancouver is having to sort the blue bin, paper and glass still. Like wtf. Just get the full sized blue bin and you guys sort it ffs |

I just started putting it back in the garbage, fuck it you want to make it that difficult to get rid of it's garbage to me. Surrey transfer station will take all your yard waste at no cost, you just have to get it there. |
Last year when the snow hit right around Christmas, the green bin didn't get picked up for us in Vancouver for a whole month. We filled it with scraps, thank god they finally picked it up before it overflowed. I've noticed since then that my area always either a) gets missed or b) they ran out of time to come pick it up. I know for a fact that recycling in Vancouver muni is contracted out, I'm not sure about green bin and black bin. I've had no problems getting the black bin picked up though unless it's a complete sheet of ice in the back lane. It's the green bin that's been a pain in the ass, even in the summer when it reeks and are covered in maggots. I washed the green bin every week after pick up. |
I’m almost certain green is contracted out as well because those green trucks are def not city of Vancouver. Get what ya pay for, since living in Vancouver going on 7 years now the garbage/green/recycling pickup has definitely gone downhill |
Ken Sim needs that recycling money for the VPD. |
In CoV, we are given a tiny gray box that is maybe 1/3 the size of a regular blue box, and glass containers are supposed to go in there. But the recycling guide that the City hands out to us seems to suggest that they only want the glass container in there, but not the lids, so that makes it a bit weird. While I use the blue box for recycling, I often go to the Zero Waste Center at Cambie & Marine since the blue box doesn't take a lot of stuff we throw out -- plastic bags / packaging, batteries, foam, etc. The Zero Waste Center also takes glass containers, and has a bin to collect the glass container lids as well. So I end up going there for dispose my glass stuff since we don't throw out glass stuff all that often. IIRC, there is hardly any $$$ to be made in glass recycling, unless it is for things like beer and wine bottles. And glass is heavey AF as well, so there doesn't seem to be a lot of incentives for people to get into the business of recycling them. Quote:

i think green bin is CoV and the rest are private, that's why they actually get done and green bin at 1mm of snow gets cancelled. seriously not happy with that, especially when they start missing pickups that being said my blue bin recycle got missed b/c of a little snow and even the city came out for the green bin W-T-F it's overflowing now and crows scatter them in the alley all day. they really need to get their shit together with all this stuff it's ridiculous /endrant |

If it’s any consolation it’s not much of a yard lol |
Saanich & Victoria have been every 2 weeks for garbage & green bin for as long as I've lived here. Although even with the biggest green bin it would be nowhere near enough to deal with all the yard waste. I have four 120L cans which I fill up nearly weekly during the fall. Thankfully we can drop yard waste at the Saanich works yard for free and it's only 2km from my house |

Does Jagmeet really want to see a conservative minority instead? Strikes me as pretty non beneficial to his cause, and I'm sure he's smart enough to know that. |

Oh man.......... I got nothing against the guy, but how can he even want to stay leader of a party after that |
We all know he’s not going to be primeminister, but that really shows the lack of professionalism in parliament. |
