Any room the PM stays at has to be on a secure floor. The room also has to be big enough to hold his staff, security and all communications equipment.
Didn't we have PP flying his family around on private planes at the tax payers expense?
Also you guys forget about conservative Bev Oda and her spending scandals? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bev_Oda

Can you imagine people giving Biden shit for the same thing?
OMG why does he need a WHOLE plane? From the "Air Force" no less? Can't the guy just fly United Premium Economy??
His goddamn house? How much could we save if we stopped painting it every year? Just rename it the Beige House.

So you're saying our do-nothing Governor General should get all the perks then?
Comon man the PM is the representative of the Country like it or not. Prime Ministers are technically not the Heads of State but they represent our country's government and meet with foreign heads. It's their job, they shouldn't have to stay at a Motel 6 to save a few bucks to satiate the seething masses who don't like their political leanings. Do you really want Trudeau to be sleep deprived while meeting with Xi/Putin/Biden cause Dirk and his girl wanted to fuck in the room next door late into the night?

I obviously understand what it all means and of course they are going to spend the money to keep the leader of the country up in whatever room they need etc. it’s just all fucking gross

So how much money did the laudering syndicate pay off to the AG, politicians, special prosecutor, premier, etc. in order for no charges to be made. The few short video clips that were released to the public looked pretty incriminating, so they must have more evidence ... but no, get out of jail free card to you. Bye. https://bc.ctvnews.ca/special-prosec...tion-1.6295230
How is this guy not guilty ... man, just look at him !

I'm surprised no one is talking about the Liberals accepting funds from the Chinese government, and the Trudeau Foundation giving back $2 million in seedy Chinese donations?
People seem to be freaking out about that and potential election interference?

When I was in Shenzhen, China a few years back and I was watching the news that was in Chinese... I saw Trudeau on the screen and I asked my friend what they were saying and she said that they were basically saying they wanted to get rid of him and that Canada was going to be an unfriendly country for Chinese people due to Trudeau's bad words and his playboy image... suggested that people reconsider travel to there.
Who knows what agency is responsible for that news view, but seems the opposite of wanting to fund him lol

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation says it is returning $200,000 it received seven years ago after a media report alleged a potential connection to Beijing.
The Globe and Mail, citing an unnamed national security source, published a report on an alleged plot by the Chinese government to influence Justin Trudeau after he became Liberal leader.
The report alleged a Chinese billionaire was instructed by Beijing to donate $1 million to the Trudeau Foundation in 2014, the year before the Liberals came to power under Trudeau.

People seem to be freaking out about that and potential election interference? | It is absolutely ridiculous, and the only logical reason that Turdeau continues to refuse to hold a public inquiry about this whole thing despite all the demand is -- he knows the results from a public inquiry will be more damaging to him / the Liberals brand than the backlash he gets from denying to hold that inquiry.
I think it is pretty safe to say that the general public have no appetite for another federal election soon. Turd/Libs know that, and they are basically betting that there'd still be enough time for the public to forget this debacle by the time the next election comes around. But given how much shxt has repeatedly been dug up, how life and economy in general are still tough for anyone who isn't wealthy, and continues to look difficult at least for this year, I am not convince that the Liberals are in any position to win the next election (in 2024?)

I don't think they're gonna win again either... which is scary because PP is a fuckin moron and there are way too many unhinged Conservative Party members currently for my comfort.
I may not like Trudeau that much as a PM these days, but I definitely don't like PP.

To me, the logical thing that Turd and the Libs should come to realize is -- Turd has become too much of a toxic asset for the Libs to win the next federal election, and he should announce that he is no longer seeking re-election as PM. (Whether he wants to stay in the constituency is a different question.) With a new party leader that doesn't have nearly as much dirt and baggage as Turd does, the Liberals should have a better chance to stave off a Cons victory.
But I don't know when would be a good timing for this. Announce it too early, and he might turn into an even bigger lame duck that can't get anything done. If he steps down before his term is up, the interim PM might inherent Turd's baggage. Announce it too late, and the next party leader might not have enough time to build a team around himself to fight PeePee.

It’s already too late to have a different leader. People dislike Freeland as much as Turd.
At this point it’s all shit, I just want PP in office to watch the people who became indifferent to Turds relentless mishaps squirm a little.

^ That's just irresponsible though... it's the samementality that puts people like Trump in power... oh I want someone there just because I want to watch certain people suffer a bit and have a laugh.
It's a bit immature? Like... okay sure, next thing you know a bunch of legitimate social groups also lose their rights, gay or marginalized people lose things they've fought for, abortion becomes illegal and scientific facts become fodder for jokes in favour of religious beliefs or conjecture?
I mean, if the leader of the Conservative party was someone less cray cray and there were less cray crays in the party itself... sure... maybe time for a diff approach for awhile see how it goes... but to go 1920 on things socially just to have a chuckle at some "snowflakes" seems pretty short sighted.

The US, imo, is so far down that hole, I'm not sure if they'll recover. And you'd be a moron to try and refute Trump's election wasn't the catalyst.
Look at the idiots like Boebert and MTG who have literally infiltrated government. It's not at all like 'smart' people who are gaming a corrupt system for personal enrichment, it's literally stupid people getting away with stupid things at all levels of government.

I don't think pp will win. He does not have the power to bring the party together. To many loose cannons in the party.
Right now https://338canada.com/ has then at a tie seat wise and I bet the libs have a bunch of dirt on PP that they are waiting to drop. Also If the cons have a minority government it will not survive.

I dunno, I still think employers might find loopholes in this.
i.e.
Sales job says $200k compensation (but only f you hit all the targets and bonuses though)
Or maybe they say the "range" for a position is $50k - $150k lol
so I'm a bit skeptical. but if you're job seeking, this should hopefully help people avoid wasting time.
And if I were really optimistic, maybe over the next decade, as more people see how Vancouver wages are low compared to other cities, and employers find it harder to recruit talent, wages may go up and we may be more comparable to at least Toronto.

^ What sectors are you refering to regarding wages that aren't comparable to Toronto?
"salary commensurate with experience"

| You see the same stuff in trades, they put one job up, "hire" for all departments, and put the wage 50-150k.
Then the ultra greasy companies will post wages of 200-300k to get lots of applicants, and during the interview they will say "oh that wage is for our top guys! They work 60-90hr weeks!" so what they really mean is the wages are actually 80-140k

We have guys in our company that moved from Toronto to here and we had to give them nearly 20% raises to get them in line to their peers.
Industry is engineering/consulting.
