I do care that the popes visit cost 50 million. I think it's the worst money this country maybe has ever spent. Especially when the Catholic Church still owes billions of dollars to canada in reparations. Maybe we should have taken it out of their debt at best.
Religion has been duping hard working people out of money for millenniums, BUT, I'm not going to get upset if someone wants to believe it in their own lives. It has no place in the financials of a country though, and they should be treated like a business like everything else. Although it's not like massive corporations have to pay their share of taxes either, so maybe it's on brand.

That's exactly my thought too!
And the dude with the hi-vis vest on the left -- he looks just like your regular airport employee that works that particular position on a normal basis. I wonder whether any additional security checks were required from him -- or whoever is working at that particular airport terminal / gate requires additional security clearance to be working there that day.
And that's the beauty of PeePee saying what he said, because make no mistake -- PeePee is a very intelligent person. He will easily claim the meaning mentioned by BB is what he meant as a defensive measure when other people presses him for it. But in reality, he is just acting like the anti-LGBTQ+ person that he has always been.
And his support bases knows what he means, so they keep cheering for him.

Peepee is the perfect example of "the morons genius."
Use some buzzwords and be vague enough that various demographics of people can say "that guy is smart and he thinks the same as I do so that means I'm smart!"

You think I like Trudeau a lot more than I do I think. Chrystia Freeland is smart. I'd be much happier with her as the liberal leader, however, with the platforms that they put forward that were important to me, that were not delivered, I wouldn't be voting for them again. Conservatives have nothing in their platform that I believe in, so it won't be them either. They are busy talking about vaccines (still? WHO FUCKING CARES STILL) and drag shows, when I want to hear about education and healthcare, and I sure as shit don't want to hear about how privatizing it will help.
Conservatives are wasting their time pandering to idiots to keep them from voting for the PPC when that's like 5% of their voting base, when they should be pushing their efforts to getting centre left voters to vote centre right because they are sick of being broke when they make 3-4x the median household income in any major city.
It's still canada, and anyone with any understanding of what makes this country less of a shithole than the US is that we actually do put human rights like healthcare as a priority, and have for our entire lives up to this point.
