So now that we have King Charles, every single flag, piece of stationary, logo, etc. that displays the queens crown now has to be changed to reflect King Charles crown.
That will be a good use of tax payer dollars

That will be a good use of tax payer dollars | It's the cost of doing business, not to mention that the last time this was really necessary, it was some 44+ years ago (when QE II stepped into her role). Do you see restaurants complaining every time they need to update their menus? Or in our Canadian governments' case, how Ministries need to spend money for this exact same purpose every time it get restructured?
As the saying goes, there are bigger fishes to catch if you want to cut down on government waste.

The monarchy is a leech on taxpayers across the colonies. The worlds richest welfare recipients.

It honestly isn't anything to complain. The drawing used on our notes gets updated from time to time as well. It's not like there's a huge one-time cost. The cost of making designs are already factored into in RC Mint's budget.
So the only difference is that instead of doing a new one on QEII, it's one for King Charles.
If anything, it'd be official documents that has already been printed, things like for immigration and what not that are handed out to many and are printed ahead of time. Those need to be discarded and written off.
But as far as our dollar note goes, the cost is really minimum.

I don't think it's just the reprinting of new bills, it's the WHOLE damn monarchy thing that we have to foot from our taxes including: Lieutenant Governor General ... remember that really good one, Payette? Her/his salary, house, expenses, etc. PLUS, LG of every frickin province and all the expenses incurred from that.

The money is nothing, they will just reprint it as they normally would.
Literally -anything- in circulation with the queens crown on it has to be replaced. Books, flags, plaques, etc.
Armed forces uninforms, vehicle labelling etc. EVERYTHING

It seems like a good excuse to just change it to a generic symbol and leave it. Like a crown or something.

I know we're stuck legally linked to the ̶f̶r̶e̶e̶l̶o̶a̶d̶e̶r̶s̶ monarchy but surely there's no requirement that things have to depict Liz or Chuck specifically on things?

King Charles made a slight change to the coronation wording ... yah, no not me! King Charles changes key piece of coronation, causing mixed feelings https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/king-ch...20that%20role.
King Charles has made a controversial change to one tradition surrounding the coronation of a new monarch. What has traditionally been called "homage of the peers" will now be "homage of the people."
Charles asks anyone watching to say: "I will pay true allegiance to your majesty and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me God."
People have mixed emotions about the move, with some calling it tone-deaf and others welcoming the opportunity to be included.
Instead of hereditary peers swearing an oath to him when he's crowned on Saturday, he's asked the public to take that role.

The MP [Michael Chong] released a statement after the Globe and Mail reported, citing a top-secret document and an anonymous national security source, that China’s intelligence service sought to target the MP and his family and that a Chinese diplomat who remains in Canada was involved.
Chong, a former cabinet minister, currently serves as the Tories’ foreign-affairs critic and routinely criticizes the regime in Beijing for its human-rights record and its alleged attempts to meddle in Canada’s affairs.
Chong said the Canadian Security Intelligence Service never briefed him about any threats made against him or his family, adding he believes that is because Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office did not authorize such a warning.
“The Trudeau government continuing to accredit and allow a (Chinese) diplomat to remain in Canada to target my family abroad demonstrates a complete lack of leadership and common decency.”
| https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/cana...hong-1.6383908 Quote:
Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly said Thursday she asked her deputy minister to tell Chinese Ambassador Cong Peiwu that Canada will not tolerate any form of foreign interference in its affairs.
Joly confirmed media reports that the Canadian Security Intelligence Service believes a diplomat working out of China's Toronto consulate had targeted Conservative MP Michael Chong and his relatives in Hong Kong, due to his criticism of Beijing's human-rights record.
| It goes without saying that I fxxking hate PeePee's guts, but the way Turd / Libs had handled this, and how they continue to handle this -- ie. without expelling the Chinese ambassador's a$$ -- is completely unacceptable. All that is happening now is -- this POS Chinese ambassador gets summoned by the Lib gov, with Turd / Libs wagging a finger at him telling him not to do this again.
WTF?! Expel his a$$ already! |

The government works at snail's pace in trying to complete every kind of work, including expelling foreign diplomats. I am not surprised it took the Turd and the Liberals this long to make a decision.
Were the Liberals discussing the potential ramifications of expelling that diplomat quickly?
Did Turd think that the Chinese government would retaliate in response to the expulsion of one of their diplomats out of Canada?
The Chinese government may still do in retaliation. That sort of behaviour we have seen before when Canada was caught in the fiasco of that Huawei CFO being detained in Vancouver while the US did an investigation into Ms. Meng's shady work.
We all know what happened after that with the Chinese government detaining the two Michaels for 1020 days under the false charges of espionage.
I am wondering if the Chinese government would retaliate in response to this decision by expelling a Canadian diplomat.
