with how bad traffic is over there it really does feel like im going on a trip every time i need to drive down there. i'd rather drive across the bridge to coquitlam than go to scott road unless i absolutely have to
Perfect. The traffic will make it very authentic like being in Delhi or Mumbai.

Note that I am not saying the judge is totally wrong in his decision -- the power bestowed by the Emergencies Act is really quite something. When the inquiries happened, a lot of witness testimonies described (in hindsight) that the various authorities' handling of the situation was chaotic and fragmented. Some strongly believed that there were measures that could have been taken without invoking the Emergencies Act, and I wouldn't challenge that suggestion either. But the facts on the ground were -- various authorities -- including but not limited to the Ottawa Police, the OPP, the Ottawa mayor at the time, Doug Ford, etc. -- were all doing the best they can to dodge the responsibility of calling the shots. Somebody had to adult up and put an end to the massive disruption, and Turd actually stepped in for a change to do "the right thing".
I look at it as kind of like CERB. Was the execution perfect? Of course not. But something needed to be done, and it needed to be done quickly, so Turd brought out the sledgehammer to get the job done. It is fine to critique the inadequacies of what had taken place, and hopefully do a better job next time should there ever be a next time. But to slam Turd like it was the biggest blasphemy since Adam took a bit from the apple? That would be ridiculous, but it is exactly what PeePee and the right wing idiots would spin it as. (And some people in the middle will believe those poorly constructed arguments too...)
lol the emergencies act isn’t somthing to just be thrown around Willy nilly because of an inconvenience. There is a reason why it has virtually never been used before.
And then use that power to fucking freeze peoples bank accounts who were supporting a peaceful protest? What are we North Korea? Lol
This obviously hugely stepped over the line, and the rule of law agreed.
I couldn’t care less about the truckers, the protestors etc, they are all clowns. But the fact this was the measure taken by Justin should be very alarming along with his laundry list of efforts to stifle “freedoms” which people have here, all for the sake of what? Saving face?
Regardless of how you feel about it, guess the the court feels otherwise lol.
Fuck JT. There has never been a more hated leader in the history of this country and this is just another example of his party crumbling. Rightfully so, as per the LAWS of this country
JT.. a leader worth 100 million dollars, taking $100,000 vacations, freezing bank accounts of broke losers donating $20 to a peaceful protest

I just made the mistake of finally watching this, literally highlighting the worst elements of the cultural generalizations. You're proud of this man? Dude is so hardcore he rounds up all his buddies to execute people for stealing a scarf?
Ffs........
It's not the direction I would take but they did also did steal her gold necklace. How many people did John Wick kill over a dog?

How's PP gonna do better? Deport all the buddy guys? No more Muslims, lgtbtyxyx, sogi for everyone? Yes it's fine let's just have some guys take over Ottawa Jan 6th style. Freedoms eh? Why not let the crack heads take over the parks and build their tiny homes, freedom bro. Let's start smoking indoors and doing crack in public, cuz freedoms.
What's the point of laws and order, if anything can be over ridden and challenged as freedom if it doesn't go your way. Freedom to not pay taxes then.

He’d have to go out of his way to do worse.

When they go back to India you should go with them so you can tell us how great it is. You can give us a review of this sushi place: https://sushijunction.com/
Out of the 15 plus people that my parents helped bring over only one went back. He was not even supposed to come. it was his brother that was supposed to. His brother and family came decades later.

i just want to focus on this one part because i'm not sure if this is considered expensive. they can't fly economy on air canada with 200 other passengers, they can't even fly first on air canada with 200 other passengers. they have to bring their security and some staff with them, they have to find accommodations for all those people too in the same hotel, they aren't going to stay in a best western or hostel. a family trip for 5 people even here on RS is going to be like 10-15k for a week.
find me modern day comparisons of how much vacations cost prominent world leaders that prove this is exuberance at the highest level.
I don’t think you understand the circumstances of said vacation.
While what you've said above is true, it is a new condition that you have never said/suggested in your initial mention of Turd's vacation costs. The way it was written at first was solely about costs, because if code of ethics was the concern (which is the questionability of what Turd's most recent vacation is all about), then the actual cost of that vacation is hardly worth mentioning.
But of course, this is always how you comment on stuff. Someone refutes one of your "arguments", and then all of a sudden, you tack on additional criteria to twist your initial comment into something else.
Is it reasonable for a leader who’s govt. suggests cancelling Netflix and scaling back on groceries to take $100,000 vacations either way? Under any circumstance?
Turd is independently wealthy almost to the point of private jets and private security, self-funded. Yet he continually accepts extremely lavish vacations from political donors? lol..
He can’t wait another year until he’s out to do this? The guy is fucking clueless.

Again, everything you are saying in this quote are different arguments independent from the accusation that "Turd shouldn't have taken that $100k vacation". In a proper debate / discussion that is based on critical analysis and thinking, you're supposed to lay out each point and provide your reasonings for or against it independently from one another. If they points are related, then they need to be discussed together, not bringing them up after the fact.
In simpler terms:
- if your argument is A, you argue for or against A
- if you argue for A, and someone else proves that A is incorrect, you can't suddenly claim your argument is really AB and that your initial claim A is still valid. If B was related to A, and you really wanted to argue for AB, then you need to argue for AB to begin with.
I trust that you are fully capable for distinguishing between these two things because you have done it in the past, and yet you often bring yourself down to the level of twisting and keep on shifting your arguments.
umm wat. you really think trump stays at mar-a-lago and doesn't charge for it? google it, it costs taxpayers like 1m per DAY. here we are crying about trudopes 100k for his entire trip because of a conflict of interest.
i'm only bringing up trump because of what i said that went unaddressed, that trips for world leaders cost a fuck load of money and 100k is fuck all for your whole family when you're the president/pm.
all I know is I with I could take as many vacations as trudope takes, he always seems like he's somewhere on a vacation and not actually doing his job. All he has done since covid is hid behind closed doors, giving money away to other countries and trying to divide the Canada putting us against each other.
^ LOL your post just makes you sound silly man, literally a bunch of generalizations and no facts.
You are required to get at least 2 weeks a year no? I can't find anything more than 1 trip a year from him that was vacay. He's not even using the bare minimum he's entitled to.
Like I sad many times, I don't like the dude myself... but you could at least try to be accurate with what you're saying if you want to disparage.

Since the Liberals started taking a beating in the polls -- I'm thinking Aug / Sept time frame?, they have actually been far more active domestically than they had been before that. The most recent change to international student visas should turn out to provide some measurable relief to housing pressures, although we won't see the effects until at least Sept this year, if not later. Also, Ontario would be the biggest beneficiary from the policy, not us here in BC / Metro Vancouver.
The new accelerated housing funds with different municipalities should also provide some meaningful relief for municipalities.
The carbon tax breaks for a Atlantic Canada is a well-intentioned, but poorly thought out and even more poorly executed policy. And while I am not a greenie, I blame Danielle Smith and Scott Moe more for the fights they are picking with Ottawa regarding the carbon tax.
None of the above changes the fact that Turd and the Libs are doing too little, too late. They are the ones that dug the graves for themselves, and they have no one but themselves to blame for the all-time low support that they have now.
