Good, I find it wrong on so many levels that someone would be able to use maid for something that is not life threating. It's a real slippery slope when they include mental illness.

Maid is an incredible thing to help end someone's suffering when they are terminal. I was a non-family witness for me gf's mom a couple years ago so I have first hand experience dealing with it.

I feel like the “mental illness” part was basically morphing into a veiled way of saying depression caused by your financial troubles.

Your too poor to live in Canada anymore so roll up your sleeve

His gun crime initiatives are working wonders

The data for 2022, published Tuesday, comes about six months after the agency reported the number of violent crimes were at their highest since 2007.

The new StatCan data — taken mostly from the Incident-based Uniform Crime Reporting Survey — found firearms accounted for nearly three per cent of violent crimes in 2022, with the rate per 100,000 population having risen by 8.9 per cent from the year before.
I get everything isn’t down to Turd, but the guy himself is just such a fucking clown as a person.

Definitely a slippery slope to include mental illness... a bunch of my friends are noticing with their teenage kids that the kids are struggling to feel "special" or "different" with all the social media they deal with and are self-diagnosing themselves online with mental illnesses now and insisting that it's the case to try and feel like they matter or need special attention somehow.

It's pretty disturbing. Imagine they can just he like "I want to get assisted death today" and not really understand the consequences.

"Wealthiest 1%"

I had to check and make sure that video wasn't some kinda deepfake.

What an odd Freudian slip. I'm trying to even think if it was a mistake, but why would 1% even come into a sentence about tax cuts in a positive way?

From the news that I've read, it is the medical community who is saying it is far too difficult (or maybe even impossible) to accurately diagnose whether someone with mental illness can meet the criteria for MAID. And if the medical professionals can't be certain, they are not going to take on the responsibility of essentially ending someone's life. And thus the Turd gov is citing that as their reason to postpone MAID eligibility for those with mental illness.

From my perspective, this is an entirely understandable position to take, and I can't fault them for not wanting to bear the responsibility.

In one of the news clips that I watched, the news was interviewing an ex war reporter suffering from a slew of long time mental issues because of the atrocities that he has seen, and I can see his pain through the video. In clear cut cases like those, of course I think they should be allowed to end their lives with dignity. But then the difficult part becomes where and how you draw that line, and in the real world, things always progress through a hundred shades of gray before white turns into black.

And people say cons don't want to ban abortions.

Alberta abortion survey linked to conservative call centre

Add Alberta's new trans law it looks like the cons do want JT to win another term.

This is to save Hondaracer the effort of posting this. Totally WTF ??!! Why the hell is the parole board so neutered.

Child sex offender Randall Hopley retains leave privileges despite November manhunt

Can’t wait till he reoffends hehe hopefully it’s real bad this time

mikemhg 02-08-2024 10:43 AM

I truly believe this is a capacity issue, there isn't space or resources to hold these people indefinitely.

It's ridiculous how officials aren't just being transparent about this whole issue.

So, in other words you hope that there is a victim and that they are violently traumatized? Do you even read what you write?

Oh yea, because he hasn’t traumatized anyone thus far. Just with a Canada wide man hunt after abducting a child, multiple breaches of conditions,

Quote:

The parole board says his release under the supervision order has been suspended four times since 2019 for breaches of conditions.

Vancouver police search for high-risk sex offender Randall Hopley, wanted Canada-wide
"[You] were secretive in your association with another high-profile sex offender and spent a lot of time buying lingerie and accessing pornography and dating sites," the decision said of Hopley's behaviour in 2018.

In November 2022, his long-term supervision order was suspended again after he was seen using a computer at a library, browsing underwear advertisements, reading a news article about a young boy and being within a metre of a group of children in the library.

Let this fucking freak get a really bad crime under his belt and maybe somthing would actually be done then? Too bad for his next victim I guess

Imagine being the parents of the kid he abducted and now seeing he’s out free, beating off to underwear ads in a public library and associating with known sex offender lol Jesus Christ.

That’s Canada for ya.

For an app that did -nothing-

Imagine what the overruns are like when it’s actually an important project.

CivicBlues 02-12-2024 06:04 PM

cmon it didn't' do nothing

It annoyed thousands of travellers and forced dozens into unnecessary quarantine

Hondaracer 02-12-2024 06:06 PM

No.. you mean the Mexican west jet staff that couldn’t even understand how to read it didn’t have Canada’s best interests at heart?

MarkyMark 02-12-2024 06:14 PM

To be fair, if the conservatives were in power during Covid everyone would be dead right now

Anything pushed out on that short a timeline will have flaws, but I'd be curious to hear how it compares to what other countries did.

Traum 02-13-2024 08:52 AM

I agree and accept that policies pushed out on a short timeline is going to have its flaws, so I am not at all surprised by the overspending aspect of ArriveCAN. But what I am quite surprised by is the extremely poor record keeping, and the lack of a particular department taking ownership of the program. Bureaucracies like to dodge their responsibilities all the time, but usually when it comes to handing out money, the bar is a bit higher because *somebody* needs to sign and approve it. In that regard, for the money trail to be untraceable, that is rather eye-opening.

sonick 02-13-2024 03:56 PM

Anybody following this whole safe injection site debate in Richmond?

Apparently bring pushed by a city councillor who has some sort of agenda or personal benefit from having this setup, meanwhile the BC premier doesn't even know what the justification is for proposing a SIS in Richmond

Also racist libs lol
