See, this kind of stuff... like you're not understanding the process.

Libs are bad for attempting to cover up the story. That's the end of it.

The rest of it isn't any particular government's fault, it's the fault to the agency. The agency/lab didn't follow proper protocols. Eventually when it was discovered CSIS did their job and here we are.

The only thing you can attach to the fed gov is that for some reason they weren't open about the process... part of that is because we do have an innocent until proven guilty legal system here, so it's not prudent to comment on an open investigation... which is what they should have stuck with.

Writing an article saying the Liberal party allowed Canada's security to be infiltrated is disingenuous.

is there any other way to estimate?

i used to do it in pencil on the drawings, then coloured highlighters on top
when i had to punch it in the computer it was DOS based estimating software :lol

Canada falling like a rock in the world wealth category. And to no one’s surpsie, the last 10 years have been some of the worst in the countries history

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opin...country-after/

Population outpacing wealth welcome droves of unskilled immigrants puts a drain on society hehehe who’d have thunk?

This seems like a tangible stat we can actually feel on a day to day basis.

I'm surprised to see Canada's economic growth being so poor in the 90's and 2000's. Sure there was the Asia Financial Crisis in the late 90's, the NYC 911 attack in early 2000's, and then the subprime mortgage crisis in the late 2000's, but on the surface, Vancouver, Toronto, and its nearby areas have grown so much as well.

And of course last year we were still reeling from the aftershocks of COVID and interest rate hikes.

Still, we are getting surpassed by other countries, and the biggies that I've mentioned are all basically global affairs having an impact on the global scale. So there is no dodging the fact that we fxxked up.

The system works! A violent sexual offender who the police warned was an extreme risk to re-offend can’t even last 3 days in society?

He looks like such an upstanding citizen though

Growing on what? Real estate? That’s the only thing we have, and it’s visual, so it looks like we’re growing. Oil/gas down, Farming down, forestry down… the list goes on.

The early 90s really sucked in BC. The Harcourt years were shit on a lot of the economy and contributed to the hesitation to elect the NDP back in 2017.

A lot rose coloured glasses on for the 90s I suspect these are mainly for the years 1996-2001.

When people actually made music as opposed to the over production of non-existent talent we see today *shakes fist at moon

But the 90's and early 2000's had all the cool cars! (Not that I had the money to afford any of them.) I was also only a clueless and easily impressed teenager at the time, and school was generally a happy place and time.

how to make me feel old without telling me i'm old

westopher 03-07-2024 05:32 PM

A good laugh.
Here's some context to her original statements.
https://vancouversun.com/news/local-...b35a53891/amp/
Selina Robinson resigns over "antisemitism" in the NDP party.
Maybe she's just upset because people are holding her accountable over her comments disparaging Palestinians?
This is the shit that completely marginalizes REAL racism and xenophobia. People calling you out for shit doesn't mean they are targeting you based on your beliefs. You might just be a fucking idiot.
This is where I hit my libtard woke limit. It's like if you showed up late 10x for work and happen to be black, you didn't get fired for being black unless the white guy showed up 11x late for work in the same period and kept their job.

Hondaracer 03-07-2024 06:00 PM

lol yea what a joke

She’s completely back on her heels for her idiotic remarks on a razors edge of being forced out and just is like..uhhh..uhhh.. antisemitism!

Hondaracer 03-19-2024 09:07 AM

lol.. we are a complete fucking joke..look at this story..

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/man-who-posed-...ears-1.6809487

Man from homeless encampment who had 160 prior convictions poses as a police officer, beats to death an elderly woman in a home invasion, and gets 7 years.. (he’ll be out in 4 as per time served)

How the fuck can you pose as a police officer, beat someone to death in a pre-mediated home invasion, and not get first degree murder?

Our “justice” system is a total fucking joke period. This is fucking disgusting

Traum 03-19-2024 09:23 AM

First degree murder requires proving the intention to kill, whereas manslaughter is committed without the intention to cause death. I can see some possible reasons in why a manslaughter charge is submitted for prosecution instead of 1st deg murder, so the manslaughter charge doesn't surprise me.

What surprised me though is of course how light the sentencing was. I see at least 3 crimes here:

- poses as a police officer
- home invasion
- killed a senior

The police officer impersonation charge can result in up to a max of 5 yrs in prison. Break and enter into a dwelling can result in a max sentence of life imprisonment. Manslaughter without the use of a firearm can carry a maximum life sentence with parole eligibility after 7 years.

Those are max sentences, of course. But from the news, it seems like the 7 yrs sentencing is from the manslaughter charge alone. The mitigating factors in giving out that sentence all sound like absolute BS to me. It is absolutely disgusting.

Ker said the fact that Parisian, who is of Cree descent, suffered through a tragic childhood of serious neglect and abuse, and had been in 24 different residential placements by the time he was 17, was a mitigating factor.

However Ker added the seriousness of the crime, and Parisian’s criminal history cannot be overlooked.

A second man has been charged with first-degree murder for his alleged role in Singh's death, and is scheduled to begin trial in May.
Bro definitely got a pass for being Cree, but it also sounds like he was the "tag-along".
