Black and white photo, should have just said he was blue and was going as Genie from Aladdin.

Hondaracer 09-19-2019 10:30 AM

I don’t like Jt but this whole digging up old shit from the fringes is crazy

whitev70r 09-19-2019 10:35 AM

Yah ... basically, if you are a JT hater, this will be more fodder to fling around. If you are a JT lover, it's a non-story.

But those who are undecided ... this with SNC might just be enough to do him in.

He's doing a presser soon ... he's had a lot of practice making apologies and tearing up. So this should be easy for him.

Rallydrv 09-19-2019 10:49 AM

being a minority, i could care less if he did this, that too 20 years ago, specially when being "politically correct" was didn't exist.

that said, not going to vote for him for other reasons.

Seriously? Trudeau's ability to run a country is affected when he wore blackface in the past? Is that what some people in the media think will affect voter decisions in our election?

Look at the Orange man in White House! Is he racist? Most definitely!
You compare the things that Trump said about minorities, even US senators, to these photos of Trudeau.

It's not even close between Trudeau's photos from over 15 years to what Trump has said or done in the past four years as President in terms of what can be deemed racist.

Dotard even played the race card in order to persuade many blue collar white voters to vote for him.

will068 09-19-2019 11:43 AM

It's distasteful, but he acknowledged he was wrong and seemed to be sincere in his apology (unlike the SNL guy who got fired this week who who seem to hate asians a lot).

Then again, I am not middle-eastern, so the offensiveness does not hit me. I wonder what the Canadians of middle-eastern background say about this ? They have the most say on this.

Thumbing through the comments sections, have seen a fair number of brown people saying it wasn't hateful so they don't find it racist at all.
Followed by a dogpile of white lefties telling them how offended they should be :lol

CivicBlues 09-19-2019 12:42 PM

No one commenting on the fact that Justin seems to have no idea what Arabs look like? They're basically White people with a tan. God knows why dressing up like Aladdin he chose to go full Wesley Snipes.

There’s also the dogpile of white righties informing the country that the PM is racist as they attend yellow vest marches and share faith goldy videos on FB about the immigrant invasion. There is a massive amount of hypocrisy everywhere.
You know what would have really been an impressive angle from Jagmeet? To brush it off, to say “yes that was tone deaf and stupid, but it was from a different time and not based on malice”
That would have showed an incredible amount of maturity and really made him stand out from the mud slinging for me anyway. I don’t believe JT is a racist person, I just think he’s asleep at the wheel. But you know, that’s just like, my opinion, man.

There will be a mix of opinions because they don't have a hive mind.

He has shown that in his previous election. When this crazy woman was throwing slurs at him or to sikh people in general. He addressed it at the tone of forgiveness, finding out a way to talk about our differences etc.

Very presidential / pm I say. Too bad he is NDP. Lol. Then again, I am corporate scum.

I thought Jagmeet's initial response was good, he spoke to those who might be offended, especially children and youth (I think there are still some rural areas where this kind of discrimination is rampant ... hell, some even in urban centers as well).

But yes, lots of brown and black people are standing up for JT ... they all just happen to be in his caucus.

But damn ... there are so many that JT can't remember them all.

i wouldn't last 5 seconds as a politician...digging shit up from the 90s is pathetic....stormy daniels did good

Justin Trudeau Responds To Blackface Criticism With New ‘Triggered?’ Campaign Slogan

Badhobz 09-20-2019 04:05 AM

JT is promising to increase cpp and old age security. That resonates with the crowd that votes (old people) so I can see a few giving him a second shot. Plus old people don't give a fuck about borderline racist shit cuz they lived through actual racism. Dude dressing up like Aladdin in brown face hardly even registers.

I have a bigger problem with his "party trick" of falling down the stairs.

SkinnyPupp 09-20-2019 05:25 AM

Can some Liberal voters tell me, since I've been out of the loop, why everyone hates Justin Trudeau now?

twitchyzero 09-20-2019 05:37 AM

i thought it was just the trend for young people to hate on the incumbents...france, USA , etc.

when the economy is doing bad, they need somebody to point fingers at and the head of state is always a safe bet when it comes to the fall guy
