I think I did last election, out of all the candidates in my riding, Lib MP (Harjit Sajjan) was the most solid. Cons candidate was a bit flaky.

Why? Vote Liberal means you must support HK protesters without question?

wtf does that have to do with HK? :seriously:

I just want to know from someone who normally would support him, why they no longer support him. Anyone voting Conservative would have their biases built in, I was looking for either an unbiased, or other-bias feedback.

Yes, that was quite obvious from your original question. But you seemed a bit surprised and asked me personally if I voted Liberal so I thought it was based on past interaction in other thread. You can unwind your panties dear.

Sorry, I may have gotten you mixed up with someone else. There are some that I'd be shocked to find out they voted Liberal, and others whose opinions couldn't mean any less to me. I'll look into the stuff you listed

Chillllll

^It's all good.

westopher 09-20-2019 11:01 AM

I voted liberal strategically to get a Harper government out.
Greens align with my ideologies most, although I worry about their policies a bit economically. I care more about people than I do about things, and as much as I want a Porsche, people deserve clean drinking water, housing, healthcare, etc. more than I deserve that, so it’s not that hard of a decision to make.
I don’t hate what the liberal government has done, but they haven’t followed through on electoral reform, haven’t made any significant changes to environmental protection, and have proven to be as dishonest as any governments past, so it’s easy not to bother with them this time.

Jmac 09-20-2019 11:05 AM

They didn’t do anything with electoral reform because it’s a 2-party system and they’re the party on the left.

westopher 09-20-2019 11:09 AM

I know why they didn’t, but they quite literally ran on the platform they would.

Unless I'm reading the wrong page on the elections Canada website, my only choices in Aldergrove are the Cons and the PPC. I Didn't live here during the last election so I'm not sure if that's normal.

Manic! 09-20-2019 02:50 PM

Looks like the cons have there own blackface problem.

Serious note, I'm ok with whatever fuck colour you want to put on your face. I'm more disturbed at JT's hand on that woman's neck. In what way is that appropriate?

The issue with Trudeau's blackface is the hypocrisy... not the hypocrisy of if him doing something that goes against what he's been preaching... it's the hypocrisy of the party digging things up from an opposition candidate's past implying that people never change but when it happens to him... it's I'm sorry but I know better now.

Jesus h. Christ this is just getting ridiculous

DragonChi 09-20-2019 07:19 PM

I feel like the parties are playing right into the Libs hands by taking the issue off of the SNC scandal, which is bigger than this frivilous black and brown face stuff.

They guy is trying to fit in or show off more than being an actual racist.

Personally i think everything that needed to be said about SNC has already been said. You can't really keep beating that same horse. People have been informed of it, and they've made their decision on how they feel about it.

In regards to this blackface thing, i think Bernier made the most sensible response oddly enough.
Over 32k people on Twitter seemed to agree as well.

Berneir's comments are even receiving praise south of the border:
CBC has done their best to avoid even mentioning Bernier or the PPC, so it's nice to see them getting media coverage, even if it's in the US and on Fox News. Just today CBC happened to do a small feature on the Aldergrove riding and listed all the candidates running, but for one - Natalie DiPietra of the PPC.

Although a valid point, IMO, that was a later tweet. This was the original response

Recently, he was called out for being a little too friendly and happy for Biancha. I could see how he might have been accused of sexual inappropriateness by this reporter a long time ago.
