We had a call the other day at work where someone really high up said that there wasn't enough representation of first nations in the Government of Canada... only 4.5% of federal government workers identify as first nations so we have failed and need to do better with hiring.

I think the biggest failure to deliver by the libs is the fact they could dole out what, 100 billion for Covid incentives yet can't find the like 8 billion for clean water on reserves? I think they did the best with the info they could at the start with the CERB, but once it was extended without examining it since its implementation, it's pretty fucked how much money went to the wrong places.

It doesn't even need to be compared to anything else, it's just ridiculous they haven't done that yet full stop. Spread it over over 4 years and it's less than half a percent of the budget.

You might think it's just that simple, but you have to always ask yourself if something seems too ridiculous to comprehend, it's probably because a lot of information is missing.

I won't say much about that any specific situation, but it ain't the government of Canada that's getting in the way of clean drinking water at at least 2 sites I know of... it's the band fighting internally over how much they lease or sell the land to the government to put the pipes thru/infrastructure on and not being able to figure out how to distribute the money or a leader wanting to keep it all for themselves and their close buddies and basically being in a standoff with the gov to up the price. They don't give a damn about their own people.

Somewhere along the line, somehow, it got transformed to "mass graves" and picturing open pits where bodies were dumped into, aka Holocaust style. Or some people were simply too dumb to really understand the difference, and then it just got carried away in the misdirected social outrage.

I got some audio on the Canada Line yesterday... this guy went on a like a 3 station long rant speaking in almost a Shakespeare accent about how he was molested by boy scout leaders and telling everyone they need to learn to spell and that nobody should cross any line with him, that we're all betraying each other and that 1 lady who got too close to him when she was trying to get off the train was a traitor to Canada and he wouldn't bother explaining what's happening to any of us because it would be a waste of his fucking time... then when he got to Lansdowne he said it was his stop and he was ready to drop the fuckin mic and that since we had entered HIS territorial lands he assumed we were all wonderful people and that we should leave this idiotic robot powered device as brothers and sisters in arms to the tranquility of Lansdowne... In the overall big picture, I do think the World is turning into a shxttier place though. The pace of change is obviously different in different places and for different people, but overall, the outlook is not good.

Honda kinda reminds me of a buddy of mine who works for Transit PD.

He listens to Joe Rogan, and watches all those Youtube videos about Vancouver/Portland/Seattle/San Fran is "burning".

While those cities have certainly changed since COVID, they're not Mogadishu hell holes.

We did a trip last year, boys trip to Portland, and my buddy was so nervous heading down there from all the videos he was watching prior, he didn't even want to drink while down there to be "prepared".

Long story short, trip went fine, of course. Outside of less businesses open downtown, nothing else was out of the ordinary, the downtown core is just dead nowadays. The happening bits have simply moved outward to the suburbs (Mississippi street) .

Last day of the trip he end up apologizing to me going "Man, you were right, it was safe and fine, maybe I got a little worked up from those videos".

I chuckled and called him a dork.
