PP is gonna win. It's a one horse race. Trudeau is disliked by one side of the political spectrum and hated by the other, some for no reason, and some for good reasons. PP is HATED by one side and loved by the simpletons and tolerated by the moderates. I don't see the cons doing much when they get in. They are just gonna be along for the ride in the passenger seat while the guy down south is driving the pickup truck after 16 beers and a mickey of crown down a dirt road at 145 km/h with the headlights off. |
Trudeau just won't get the hint and fuck off he's gonna single handedly ruin any chance the liberals would have had if he runs in the next election. I would say I'd vote for either party im not some Cons dick rider I voted Liberals last election but Trudeau is just a non starter and I know a lot of people who feel the same way. |
i cant wait to post "Pierre's Canada" every time something happens in the world |
Bra, drive through the DTES and have a look at Trudeaus Canada, or any community lol. It’s only up from here. Been to Kelowna lately? There’s a 5 mile trip of Trudeau towns. And before anyone tries to frame this angle that record number of homeless and food banker users “aren’t the feds fault!” Although lately conveniently anything to do with the conservative side somehow is. Mass, unchecked, immigration at a scale never before seen, during a time where rents were already largely out of control played by far the biggest factor in homelessness and addiction in this country. You don’t even have to go down the wormhole or question whether the fed should have stepped in to do more about housing affordability and mortgages etc. immigration alone destroyed the rental market and forced many out of their homes. The step from renting a single room with a hot plate in a home to being homeless is 100000 times down and virtually impossible to recover from. We’ve somehow gone so far in that direction that without a generational investment into recovery, this is Canada now. Tent cities, addiction, crime, etc. due to federal immigration policies. No one whether it be liberal or conservative are ever going to have the balls to fix it, so this is Canada now. As ive said before, when the federal govt. starts running ads showing Asian and Indian guys sitting in their living room with a used needle laying on the table for “help telephone lines” at that point you know the problem is WAYYYY worse than you even realize. Same goes for Trudeau coming out and saying they fucked up on their immigration policies. When someone like him who’s Ego is as big of this country comes out and says the people we brought in were the wrong people and too many of them, you know the problem is really bad. |
I just wanna know if you're gonna swap out your fuck Trudeau sticker for a fuck PP sticker if nothing changes. |
Fix the court system and bail reform and he gets my stamp of approval. Getting rid of taxes and outing more money in my pocket is just the cherry on top. It’s that low of a bar. |
honda acts like skid row wasnt already a massive problem when harper was PM for 10 years. |

Like legitimately, are you that ignorant to the situation? It’s 100 times worse than it was a decade ago. And -ALL- the numbers back this up. |
Honda is like the real life version of those IG accounts where they just film Hastings and main and post "what happened to Canada!" |

lol like first hand accounts over a decade back by statistical data and that’s not enough? Someone living in fucking Richmond or some shit telling me “it was bad under Harper too! lol please, just stfu you have no clue. |
To be fair, homelessness was around for like the past 10-15 yrs, before the present JT regime. But everyone will say that things have gotten a LOT worse, it's like a war zone, 3rd world country down in the DTES. I've been around YVR since late 1990's but last 5-10 yrs ... wow, even I'm shocked driving through it!!! So I do blame the feds, province, and municipal governments that they haven't been able to at least maintain the same level, or made it better, it's actually gotten dramatically worst. Would it have been better if the Cons were in charge in the past 10 yrs ... prob not but still, we ask the Libs to do more social things, not NDP communism but some sort of a balance between social services/support and moderate economic stability. |

Any basic search will show you an increase between 20 and 40% increase since 2020. And obviously this has been going on longer than that. Hidden homeless and people aren’t caught in these counts are obviously substantially more. Food banks Canada is showing a 90% increase in need since 2020 https://foodbankscanada.ca/hungercou...tional%20level. Derrrrrrr it’s only hondaracer!! Places like gourmet warehouse who are closer to me than the DTES dealing with multiple smash and grabs fucking daily? Begging the govt. to do something? https://globalnews.ca/news/10856703/...complaint/amp/ Eh no biggy! Companies can’t even fucking operate within proximity to the DTES for the rampant theft and safety of their employees. |
you know the actually have something called a homeless count, and since 2015 to 2023 the number went from about 3000 to about 4700, so just over 50% of an increase while trudeau was in office. whatever else you have to say about it is irrelevant. |
The spike in people relying on food banks the past couple years is pretty troubling, blame whoever you want for that but it's not a good look when the amount of people who can't afford to feed themselves is rising quite fast. |

Bc housing reports a 31% increase between 2020 and 2023 alone. Keep yapping. To try and downplay this is such a detriment to society. There is no question, it’s the worst it’s ever been. Whether it’s the eye test or tangible data, which, obviously is an undercount if anything. |
I think it's important to consider that the increase isn't solely people who can't, but people who decide they can't. There's people picking up food in new merc SUVs. Not discounting the fact that people who genuinely can't afford to feed their family has gone up, but also not discounting the fact that SOME of those people are also refusing to accept their spending habits are the problem, so the data doesn't paint a fully accurate picture. Homelessness and poverty is increasing in a large portion of g20 countries. UK has had the highest increase. I mean, inequality is at an all time high since before the Industrial Revolution, is it not? I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kill musk, kill bezos, kill Zuckerberg, redistribute their wealth and let's start again with a little bit better understanding of the necessity for some rules in capitalism. |

That said, I don't believe those numbers for a second. There's no way there are only 4700 homeless people in BC. I don't even believe there's only 4700 homeless in a 6 block stretch on the DTES. |
Yea. In a 3 year span. Not a decade. |

When you can’t afford housing, you are then homeless. It’s not rocket science. Also, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this, but a 40% increase from 1200 is different than a 40% increase from 4500. |
Actually, if we want to talk naked eye test, I've found east side Vancouver has cleaned up significantly. You used to see way more BS along Kingsway spanning from Knight all the way up to Joyce. That's cleaned up significantly in the last 10 years. Hastings around the Clark area also cleaned up some time 10 years ago, but it's gotten worse again. Overall wouldn't a homeless situation be more of a provincial and municipal issue? Sure Federal policy may have some hand in causing some of these ppl to be on the streets, but they do not directly affect the policies which help them. Considering what happened during covid and post covid, Trudeau didn't do a fantastic job, but it's not terrible. Do you prefer having your doors welded shut ala China? |
