Now what about all the illegal guns and drugs coming from America?

Hondaracer 11-25-2024 09:10 PM

Well we literally had years of stories of RCMP allowing 100,000+ migrants as “irregular” crossings or whatever the term was at Roxham Road.

CivicBlues 11-25-2024 09:13 PM

They were migrants coming into Canada

Hondaracer 11-25-2024 09:16 PM

Doesn’t change the fact the border was considered non-existent in those cases.

All the people from El Salvador and the other countries that had rejected asylum claims in the US must surely be model Canadian citizens now

Hondaracer 11-25-2024 09:20 PM

lol and the same day, obviously influenced by the Trump speculation Marc Miller comes out with these gems:

Quote:

It is not a right to become a permanent resident. It is not a right to become a Canadian citizen, otherwise you dilute the value of it. That's something I firmly believe in," Miller said.
You don’t say?

https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/marc...stem-1.7122704

Besides the countless examples of how we ignore the safe third country agreement when it comes to refugees. If Trump says the border is an issue and it’s going to result in tariffs, (the drugs again, look at the ports, looks at the reasons for the lock outs etc.) then we better solve these issues.

If that means actually living up to the third country agreement or not just allowing people to walk across the border, better figure it out.

If this isn’t a veiled threat and Trudeau doesn’t fix this by the time it comes to fruition, there will be an election within the month. That wouldn’t be the final nail in the coffin, that would be the sod being laid down.

68style 11-25-2024 09:56 PM

lol Mexicans pouring into the US from Canada... how did they get there? derrrrrrrrr

Doesn't it mean HIS borders are porous if things are coming IN to his country? Fuckin moron.

Traum 11-25-2024 10:57 PM

Lumping Canada into the illegal immigration and drug trafficking into the US along with Mexico is just absurd. According to this CBC article:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/trump-...xico-1.7393160

Based on figures from the US Customs and Border Protection, illegal entries into US from Canada barely accounts for 1% of the total number of illegal entries into the US from all checkpoints. And we all know which side of the border funnel more drugs into the US. At most, we might funnel more marijuana into the US than Mexico does.

Some critics are saying this is a standard Trump pre-negotiation tactic -- present some sort of absurd terms (ie. the 25% tariffs) before the actual negotiations take place, so that when the time comes for the real negotiations, the US can still get away with presenting a lob-sided contract that greatly benefits the US at Canada/Mexico's expense because it would still be more enticing than the 25% tariffs.

But obviously, this is just straight up negotiating in bad faith. Of course it is a standard Trump tactic because he is a despicable dick.

68style 11-26-2024 05:53 AM

I can already hear all the mouth breathers yelling “YAH!!! MAKE THEM PAY!”

Hondaracer 11-26-2024 05:56 AM

Well when you negotiate from a position of weakness, what other choice do you have?

Turd has to bow to whatever Trump says, he has no internal support in Canada regardless of the circumstance. He could come out and becompletely reasonable and say Trump is the one pushing this agenda and people aren’t going to give two fucks, just fix it.

I can absorb costs increases. Less money in my pocket as per usual but no biggy

Others? Well those welfare cheques aren’t going to quite cut it

Hondaracer 11-26-2024 07:20 AM

400 mill for refugee healthcare anyone?

There's been a sevenfold increase in refugee health-care costs in the last eight years

The headline: Opinion : Biden should pardon Trump. A pardon would make good on the president’s inaugural pledge of unity.

One of the more absurd headlines I've seen - I didn't even bother reading most of the column. Here's an opinion: Trump should take the stand and accept the verdict (prison time).

whitev70r 11-26-2024 07:25 AM

^ yah, unfortunately, another W for Trump. Yesterday, prosecutors dropped the charges against him for interference in 2020 election results based on US Department of Justice policy that prohibits prosecuting a president while in office. :okay:

Badhobz 11-26-2024 07:28 AM

Honda you sounds NUTS, you're trolling hard :lol

The very definition of cutting your nose off to spite your face because of sticking it to the Libs.

How can a Canadian support this fuckhead when his policies are a direct detriment to our economy and standard of living?

I'm dumbstruck here.

So when you think Trudeau is costing you money it's a huge issue but when Trump costs you money it's nbd?

Tell me a time in history that Canada has negotiated with the USA from a position of power>

I won't hold my breath.

lol I don’t support him? I do find this feverish circle jerk over orange man fear that happens here amusing though.

But when he has ALL the power what else can Canada do? If you don’t want to pay these tariffs you’re going to have to bend over and do what he asks.

Turd has zero leverage in this situation, this is literally the worst time to be a lame duck PM as Trump starts strong arming Canada. Trump isn’t dumb, he knows Trudeau is done and he’s either gonna do what he wants him to do, or public opinion is going to turn so bad they will have no option but to force an election.

We’ve always been shit, so now when we’re REALLY shit we have zero power in this negotiation.

yray 11-26-2024 11:25 AM

even PP doesn't want to be PM now :lol
