It's at the point where people need to take a 5 minute questionnaire to be allowed to vote. US was the perfect preface for it a couple months ago. The amount of people finding out what platforms were post election after someone directly told them would be hilarious if it weren't so dangerous.

Hondaracer 01-07-2025 07:08 AM

For sure, takes a real idiot to vote for Turd hehe

68style 01-07-2025 07:18 AM

You an rest now, he won't be on the ballot... and never actually was unless you were in his riding............

People can't seem to remember that we don't vote for the PM separately like the President in the USA. I actually wouldn't hate seeing that separated out like it is in the USA.

So what's going to be the future derogatory term for Poilievre once the shine wears off? Small PP?

What about "PP Diddy?"

As LeBron James once said "Ain't no party like a Diddy Party!"

Ain't no Conservative Party like a PP Party! :lawl:

Yup, tonnes of "AXE THE TAX -PP" stickers around Calgary lol

That $10 a month or whatever it works out to per person is sure gonna save Canada. nevermind the mathematical gymnastics required to explain how a government cuts its deficits by reducing taxes, which are their only source of income.

Does there exist a simplified break down of the yearly federal budget?

To start I'd like to see the amount of money sent over seas and what they're claiming it's for.

Then I'd like to see the amount spent on supporting the mass immigration we've had over the past few years.

Curious what those figures are and what that equates to per tax paying Canadian.

People have already been calling him Angry Milhouse on other sites. Not sure why it hasn't caught on here.

Trudeau finally grows a pair after he resigns once Trump doubles down on the 51st state bullshit.

Coulda said something while you were still PM bro

unit 01-07-2025 11:27 AM

trudeau says nothing - "trudeau is weak"
trudeau says something - "trudeau should not escalate tensions with the US"

CivicBlues 01-07-2025 11:27 AM

He's still PM

and what did he say? what could he possibly say that would make sense to what is basically an online troll?

Hondaracer 01-07-2025 11:40 AM

“Not a snowballs chance in hell Canada is going to become the 51st state” lol

After Trump doubling down on everything, the tariffs, the state BS, etc.

This is a very bad time to prorogue parliament for months as Trump comes in. Even Eby just said it today, all the legislation out there that was suppose to go towards provinces is now dead in the house.

We need the federal government, because it is a federal responsibility to show strong leadership on addressing the border issues, and they’ve made moves in that direction. We expect them to continue that work, but without question, given the state of the Federal Government currently, the leadership on this file has to come from the premiers across Canada, and so we’re going to continue to do that work.”

Aka without federal leadership, premiers need to stand up for Canada…

We are a -joke-

I’d like to see the costs for the federal government to prepare a simplified breakdown.

You'll need to wait 2 years while the contract for the cost breakdown goes to tender.

68style 01-07-2025 12:25 PM

You know freedom of information applies to all facets of the government, you can even go to your local library and file an ATIP request on anyone's emails if you have a reason/desire to do so and wait the process out.

So yes of course you can get access to spending reports... but no one is going to dumb them down for you.

Trump isn't just trolling us -- he has also continued to troll Greenland and Panama.

I'd really like to see Trump burns himself on this somehow. Unfortunately, that level of backlash from the international community doesn't seem likely.

westopher 01-07-2025 12:49 PM

Don jr is going to Greenland to scope it. Maybe someone just kills him.

68style 01-07-2025 01:04 PM

Haha kinda reminds me of the opening of the movie Klaus… rich trust fund kid who never works sent to Greenland-like place…..unfortunately that’s about where the similarities end as no hardships will be endured nor any lessons learned

It's not like parliament was going to pass any legislation in the next few months anyways :lol

If you've been following government, it's been pretty much at a standstill for the last year.

Hondaracer 01-07-2025 02:06 PM

Call an election then and have an actual leader to deal with Trump?

This prorogued parliament is going to do what for the libs? Maybe gain a seat or two? Dragging it out even if it was to the fall likely wouldn’t be enough to gain enough seats to even form the opposition

westopher 01-07-2025 02:19 PM

They are literally tied in the polls for the NDP for an opposition govt. They probably want to have a leader in place, so yeah it makes a difference.

Hondaracer 01-07-2025 02:22 PM

So you’d prefer this as opposed to an election and having PP be the leader right away while Trump shits on Canada?

Prorogued till march, probably a couple weeks for non-confidence vote to go through, a late April, early-June election once Trump has been in office for 5-7 months?

lol… ok

westopher 01-07-2025 02:24 PM

You're genuinely retarded if you got "I'd prefer it" from that. I'm telling you why it happened because it's so unbelievable to you that it did.
Non confidence vote isn't gonna happen anymore. Jagmeet isn't gonna do it cause it doesn't make him look like the hero anymore. They can use the time to campaign to poise themselves as the only option. NDP has potential to take nearly the entire left vote if they do things properly. Liberals also will have the chance to do the same.
