Notably the 1st time one of these mental drivers smoke their vehicle with no insurance (because the government down here does fuck all enforcement).
Good luck navigating the legal system (it's America, lawyer up and spend $$$), the insurance system (no ICBC, have fun dealing with the shitty insurer paying your claim, or even worse if the other guy has no insurance which can be likely), finally lets hope you don't get injured, now you get to do with the shitty hospital system and the insurance side of that. Fun fun.
People don't understand how good they have it in Canada -- where we have proper regulations, policy dictated by governance, not some laissez-faire shitfest down here where anything goes.
I'm sick of Canadians having such ardent opinions on things they've never lived through or experienced. So called "patriots".

Fun fun. | Been there a few times...Texas is 2nd largest (alasaka) but man, if you ever want tacos and mexican food, it's epic there. Driving there is a nightmare... you can spend hours on highways and 2nd level highways... it's a maze.
I do know a few people who couldn't afford to retire because of how expensive health care is (when u're not covered by corp).

I'm sure your kids will be much smarter and well educated in China, vs the no letter grade no failure sogi system we have here. Over there you fail you die, dishonor your family.
I thought the poor retirees go to Mexico. I'm pretty sure it's better to retire in any Asian country with it's better, cheaper, faster healthcare than here.

It's less the Shanghai lifestyle, than your personal habits.

I was literally in your boat like 40 days. But going back to Shanghai as an adult (who didn't have to follow my mom around everywhere) was a game changer, but also no kids + no wife + no dogs for 2 weeks, still though the experience makes me wanna stay in Shanghai forever lololol
In all honesty though, if it wasn't for my kids' education (which Canada is way better at). The conclusion from our discussion is we gonna stick it out till our kids finish post secondary and maybe I can convince wife to move back.
If I was single, I would buy a ticket today and move back to Shanghai.
There is enough equity in my house here that I can live comfortably back in Shanghai and do jack shit all day.
Including hotel + food + an unlimited data cellphone plan = $1700 CAD a month all in. (yes the lifestyle had me fattening up 18lbs in 16 days => $1700 CAD per month) | It's more so you needed a vacation from being a dad and husband.
No one ever really says it but I learned this from one of the directors at my previous jobs. He said he told his wife he needed a vacation, not just them going somewhere but rather just being away from the 24/7 jobs of dad and husband and adult.
It's something that is worthwhile to acknowledge and not just to sweep under the bed, even if it's not realistic. Quote:

Although I don't like her work as the former Minister of Finance, even CNN mentions her good negotiating work in protecting Canada's interests during the last round of negotiations for the free trade agreement with the U.S. and Mexico.
-from the article:
During the first Trump administration, Freeland – then foreign minister – engaged in high-profile clashes with the United States over Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada.
She was closely involved in the arduous negotiations to revise the longstanding North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, which Trump has indicated he wants to renegotiate yet again. “Freeland had probably the highest profile of any cabinet minister beyond the prime minister,” Nelson Wiseman, professor emeritus at the University of Toronto, told CNN.
“Canada basically didn’t give the US anything in those negotiations,” Wiseman told CNN. “Trump essentially rolled over because in the renegotiation of NAFTA, for Trump, image was everything.”
Freeland has since become a personal target for Trump, who recently criticized her as “totally toxic and not at all conducive to making deals.”
Freeland has said Trump acted as a “bully” during negotiations after Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner criticized her own negotiating tactics in his memoir.
That's the one thing that I like about Freeland in terms of her negotiating skills.
Trump can call her anything he wants to insult her. Freeland is not intimidated by a bully. She did not back down to any of Trump's demands during the last round of negotations of the free trade agreement. Props to her for standing up for Canada. | I don't have a problem with Freeland. She can be tone deaf but to be completely honest, most politicians would be out of touch with the majority of the voting population. Any policy will always rub certain demographics backwards because no policy would 100% fit everyone.
That excerpt means she'll be unpopular, but she might be able to get shit done in and out of Canada. Quote:
