Let me break it down for you.
Killing billionaires is a bit hyperbolic, however, I absolutely believe billionaires who make their money and avoid taxes by exploiting people and the system deserve to die.
Brian Thomson killed thousands, if not tens of thousands by his policies. Zuck, musk, and bezos are actively funding a fascist takeover of the US and they deserve to die, absolutely.
Part 2.
You believe the killing of billionaires is absurd. In the same breath, you posted that taxing the rich is also an absurd idea, which really seems to mean that you believe these people should be able to exploit the system to avoid paying a fair share of taxes.
No one is mistaking how deep the boot is, except for maybe yourself?

It was a small step, but today I put back an American product at Costco. Initially, I just picked up what I normally would but today I had that thought "wait, is this American?". Sure enough, it was. Back on the shelf you go. I hope everyone else is doing the same!

I absolutely intend to choose Canadian products first and after that, literally anything OTHER than American will do.

pastarocket 02-25-2025 02:32 PM

I am choosing to buy local products too. Made In Canada!
However, some of my co-workers still go to Starbucks for their coffee. I troll them by calling their coffee breaks a Sell Out to Starbucks haha.

Yeah, yeah, I know, Timmy Ho's coffee is not the best coffee that you can buy. I go there to support a Canadian business. Sometimes I go to a local cafe for a macchiato.

Timmy Ho's is only half Canadian now. Owned by RBI formed with Burger King and Tim Hortons merged.

For the first time since 2021, Ipsos polling now shows the federal Liberal party with a slight lead over the Conservatives.

The poll, conducted exclusively for Global News by Ipsos Public Affairs, shows if a federal election were to take place tomorrow, the Liberals would get 38 per cent of decided voter support compared to the Conservatives’ 36 per cent, overturning what was a 26-point lead for the Tories just six weeks ago.

According to the polling, conducted between Feb. 21 and 24 from a sample of 1,000 voting-age Canadians, the Liberals have increased their numbers by 10 points compared to the last poll by Ipsos released earlier this month.
Yes we can! Yes we can!

there's also this:

Tapioca 02-25-2025 03:54 PM

Nanos also posted the results of a new poll today also - they have the Liberals 4 points behind: https://nanos.co/trump-and-jobs-stat...rals-33-nanos/

Ekos, which is not as credible as Ipsos or Nanos, also has the Liberals in a slight lead right now with some interesting breakdowns in voter demographics and support:

Polls should always be taken with a grain of salt, but obviously, there's a trend. Whether it will last, who knows? Older people who are not wealthy and who have more to lose are going to vote for the Liberals. They have always voted in higher numbers than young people. Young people in Canada are angry because their material needs aren't being met, but will they channel their anger into actually showing up to vote?

It's a bit of perfect storm right now - a very big external right wing threat to our country shows up and 75-80% of Canadians hate that threat and one political party in particular happens to have hitched their wagon to that big external threat. That particular political party is led by a life long politician that has never passed a bill and their 3 word slogan is "Canada is Broken" (and that it needs more of the American way to fix it)

Patriotism will outweigh many notions of "Canada is Broken" at this point and when Carney wins and the Liberals start hammering PP on it I could see it getting ugly for PP and the Cons.

Do young people prefer to protect the country or do they prefer to focus on their misguided grievances? I'm betting enough of them want to be patriotic and that's enough for the Liberals to win.

Has anyone seen Hondaracer lately? Can we do a wellness check on him?

68style 02-25-2025 05:49 PM

I don't think he's ever come to any of the meets or social events, at least not the past few years...

Interesting. The article writes it like these are some crazy ideas that they're pushing for and they have no sources (any twitter source is no source to me) for the things they're claiming.

But after exploring each of the sites for a bit, it's not that wacky. at all.

Canada Spends - sources are cited, all public information

Build Canada - "Cut 110,000 jobs" - not actually that unreasonable if you read it. I can also attest to the rapid growth of the CRA resulting in a bunch of errors and people who don't know what they're doing. Hell I just had to deal with an auditor arguing it wasn't her fault that she missed the voicemails, emails, faxes, and letters. That we should remind her that we've sent all those things in all of those formats. Crazy. You know what's even crazier? They still issued a fine anyway, despite evidence being presented and proof of delivery of all items.

Turd's speech this morning about the tariffs.

He addressed Trump as "Donald". LUL

https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2025/0...riff-response/

Canada is imposing 25 per cent retaliatory tariffs on $30 billion worth of American products, with the levy set to expand to cover another $125 billion in U.S. goods in 21 days.

Trudeau announced Canada will be challenging the U.S. tariffs through the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) process and at the World Trade Organization.

“This country is worth fighting for,” he said.

Directly addressing Canadians, Trudeau said, “this is going to be tough, even though we are all going to pull together because that’s what we do.”

The Prime Minister also had a direct message to President Trump. Addressing him by first name, Trudeau said, “this is a very dumb thing to do.”

“We two friends fighting is exactly what our opponents around the world want to see.”

In Trudeau’s message to Americans, he spoke about the damage this trade war will cause and says “your government has done this to you.”

“We don’t want this, we want to work with you as a friend and an ally.”

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is adding a 25 percent surtax on electricity exports to New York, Minnesota, and Michigan.

If the U.S. tariffs persist until April, Ford is considering cutting off all electricity to those three states.

Send a big message to Trumpy.

“Today I am writing to every senator, every congressman and congresswoman and the governors from New York, Michigan and Minnesota telling them that if these tariffs persist and if the Trump administration follows through on any more tariffs we will immediately implement a 25 per cent surcharge on the electricity we export,” Ford said.

When asked about whether this move will require the legislature to resume, Ford said he is still looking into how quickly a 25 per cent export tax can be imposed on electricity.

“The federal government is in charge of any export so we will be working with the federal government,” Ford said, adding that he will be speaking to the prime minister this afternoon to discuss what the province can do to speed up retaliatory measures.

After a snap election last week, members of provincial parliament won’t be sworn in any earlier than the week of March 17.

He added that if tariffs persist into April, the province will consider cutting off electricity to the U.S. Ford mused that the extra electricity could be used to power Ontario manufacturing plants.

“I feel terrible, because they are great governors. I know all three of them. I work well with them. I met them all. We’ve got them to Ontario. They are great people. I have to apologize to the governors and the American people. You need to make sure you send a message to President Trump,” Ford said.
