There's actually 38 liberal MPs not running for reelection, so the army of clowns isn't really the same. Carney will also likely appoint mostly new cabinet members, and is a totally different leader with a different platform.
Will it be the same? Maybe. Will it be different? Probably. Will it be better? Hopefully.

It’s the same stupid shit that’s always happened here, when I said JT before, it’s obviously referencing the liberal party as a whole.

But when someone says they prefer conservatives, you aren’t just voting for PP, you’re trying to elect an entirely new regime to replace people like Freeland etc. people who have proven their incompetence.

Well which is it for you though?

You've said in the past it all comes down to Trudeau when I pointed out that he has many ministers he relies on to do everything for him.

Now you're saying Carney doesn't matter because it's the army of clowns behind him?

You can't play both nets here.

mikemhg 03-24-2025 01:28 PM

^But that would require logic and critical thinking.

Trump and George W Bush are both Republicans, would you compare either administration as being anywhere similar?

Heck, Trump's 1st term is vastly different from his current 2nd term.

Why? Because his cabinet and appointees are completely different this time around.

It would not be inconceivable to think the same would apply to Carney.

Hondaracer 03-24-2025 01:31 PM

JT was always the figurehead for the incompetence of the party.

It’s no different this this ravenous hatred for Trump lol..

Trump must be a fucking genius if he is single handedly responsible for all the shit you guys have been placing square on him, he’s brilliant if that’s the case :lol

I’d like to recall a single time when I ever said the idiot was singularly to blame. My focus was always on him but of course it meant the party as a whole. It’s no different with Trump, JT was too much of an imbecile to ever be single handedly responsible for the ineptitude we lived through.

Dude, did you even read the inspection report that you've posted here?

The report was dated June 18, 2024, and here is what it said:

Quote:

Based on our review of exposed RAAC panels to date, and that shoring has been installed to support critical risk panels, it is our opinion that buildings A, B and C are currently safe for occupancy until October 31, 2024.
The Ford gov's insistance on closing the Science Center down also did not match what independent engineers and architects found:

Other architects also didn't see the need for a full center closure after a close review of the Rimkus engineering report.

The firm that designed the Ontario Science Center also offered free repair services to keep the science center open.

lmfao Carney has done almost nothing to deal with the Trump tarriffs since he got elected. He didn't speak to Trump...there is a looming tarriff coming on April 2nd. How tone deaf can one be
What is there to achieve with Trump? He has already chosen to not listen to us, so no amount of further convincing on our part is going to change his mind. Pressure from his own states, governors, and staff/advisors might pursuade him to ease off on things a bit to avoid the economic impact that will be hurting the US as well, and the premiers are already doing that work. It is better off for our PM to find other means to make up for the lost revenues from the US trades since those measures might actually be useful. Easing inter-provincial trade barriers as well as fostering further cooperation with Europe are far better bets than trying to kiss Trump's stupid ring.

Do you think people assume Trump is the mastermind behind all this? He literally had a manual written for him that he is following. Why do you think it's such a drastic change from his first term?

Pay attention man if you're going to go after people

Carney's cabinet will be quite different from Trudeau's. Pay attention

Manic! 03-24-2025 03:15 PM

trump has said he will not talk to anyone about tariffs until the election is over.

But did you hear that a former British P.M. said Carney was terrible and would make a terrible Canadian P.M.

Spoiler!

westopher 03-24-2025 03:15 PM

Sounds like an endorsement more than anything.

Hondaracer 03-24-2025 03:33 PM

So 38 liberal MP’s not running again, liberals currently have a minority with 153 so say you need 160 roughly for a majority as they are adding a few seats to Parliment.

Carney doesn’t just “choose” him MP’s he has to work with who is elected in their ridings.

So yea.. slightly less than a quarter of potential turn over?

Sounds like a totally new team to me! lol not like any of the mainstays like Champagne, Freeland, etc. will leave.

Guess I’m not paying attention? To basic math and how our electoral system works? lol

If PP can get Carney to disclose his assets and it turns out the guy is worth 100+ mill, the election is over. People on the fence who aren’t engaged in in-depth political discussion will just see another out of touch rich guy smiling for the camera and vote conservative. Just watch

By the way, what happened to all that crying about the capital gains tax? And how it was a good thing and only rich people would be affected etc? And now Carney scraps that almost instantly? Certainly everyone who wasted their breathe defending that has a good excuse for the reversal no?

Traum 03-24-2025 03:35 PM

Agree with your first 2 points.

I am not so sure about what Carney's cabinet is gonna look like if he wins though. Personally, I don't see how LeBlanc, Joly, and Champagne would not be there. And given Carney's close personal ties with Freeland (one is the godparent of the other's children, or something like that?), I would also expect Freeland to remain in the cabinet. I seem to think McGuinty was tasked to help with Carney transitioning into his PM role, and he has pledged his support for Carney during the leadership race. So I would also think that he is gonna stay on.

Those are already 5 big names carried over from the Turdeau era, and I would expect them (except for Freeland) to continue taking up important roles. Even Freeland's "current" role as internal trade minister is pretty important, since that is one of the key promises Carney has made to clear up the interprovincial trade barriers.

So how different is Carney's cabinet really gonna be? It's a bit worrying, if you ask me, cuz critics will just accuse it to be the same as what we had with Turd.

Hondaracer 03-24-2025 03:40 PM

Those are all prominent people in big time roles who will remain in said roles. Period.

You think Joe Schmo from Thunder Bay is going to take on immigration minister? lol yea ok.

If we're concerned about Carneys net worth, what's PPs?

68style 03-24-2025 03:58 PM

With or without his 6 digit pension he got at 41 after doing literally nothing for his entire career except bitch and complain? Almost zero actual legislation put forward.

20 is a lot more palatable for people than 200.

Article is paywalled, but this is a good column why Pollievre is behind in the polls:

TL;DR - unless you're a hardcore Conservative party supporter, most Canadians just don't really trust or like Pollievre.

Carney was born in NWT to a principal and a stay at home mother, then made money as an investment banker. PP came from humble beginnings as well, and has made his money via taxpayers, to essentially accomplish nothing in those 21 years other than complaining. Living every conservative voters dream.

noclue 03-24-2025 04:27 PM

It’ll be tougher for PP to explain how he’s worth $20m than carney explaining his networth of $200m

If PPs is 20 that's several times more than the gross income of his entire career. That wouldn't concern you?

What is your source for this?

68style 03-24-2025 05:10 PM

How is any federal party responsible for what randomly happens to a nurse in BC?

Fuck man get your levels of government controls straight. Invalidates half your points.

Workplace violence makes nursing one of Canada’s most dangerous professions
Most incidents are never reported by nurses, who fear inaction or even retribution, a Star Touch/Global News 16x9 investigation has found.
Quote:

Between 2008 and 2013, there were more than 4,000 reported incidents of workplace violence against Canada’s registered nurses and licensed practical nurses that were serious enough to prevent them going to work, according to data analyzed from the Association of Workers’ Compensation Boards of Canada. That surpasses the number reported by police officers and firefighters put together.

In Ontario, nursing is one of the most violent professions, with more than 760 incidents reported between 2008 and 2013.
Trudeaus Canada between 2008-2013
Make no mistake, violence against healthcare workers has increased, and it's awful, but this is hardly a Trudeau problem. The last 5 years I would blame basically every provincial government for this issue as a huge portion of these incidents are directly correlated with hospital crowding and wait times. The drug epidemic also wasn't an issue in that time frame, which doesn't seem to be solved by a right wing government in the US.

Money insulates people from these issues.

If you have wealth, status, and social capital, the harsh realities faced by the lower class often seem distant. Those at the top rarely concern themselves with the struggles of those at the bottom... it's just how the system works.

I’ve had a taste of financial freedom. At one point making $24,000 in a single month of a 15 year streak of easy money. It’s not true elite wealth, but enough to glimpse what life is like when you’re not tied to a 9-5 grind. Having substantial money in the bank, no job, and no financial worries is a completely different reality than living paycheque to paycheque. Many who come into money just reinvest it into another house and keep their lives structured around work, but for those with real wealth, or YOLO Chads like me, the concerns of everyday people barely register.

And, trust me, when I quit porn and went back into the real world, worked my way up to an easy 100k again, all to lose that new budding life during COVID for refusing the bullshit "vaccine", and now, again rebooting my life with the power of AI and porn instead of staying a low-class, minimum wage job worker, I can tell you from such an authentic place... the lower class people are complete fucking slaves.

Take healthcare, for example. If you're rich, you don't wait in line, you go to the U.S. for the best specialists. If you're barely scraping by in Canada, you’re stuck with whatever the system can provide, and that’s often not enough.

Look at professional athletes. A hockey player making millions per year has a loyal wife, widespread admiration, and financial security. Politics doesn’t matter to them because their lives aren’t affected in the same way as the working class. Politics exists to keep the 9-5 workforce content with small tax breaks and fuel discounts while the real power brokers stay above it all.

If you’re in a position where you don’t need to work much but still make good money, and you’re disgusted with how our society treats vulnerable people... consider supporting art and artists.

I expected someone to post this video, but no one did. The only reason I even care about politics is that I came dangerously close to overdosing on fentanyl myself. My dealer died the same week I quit because I found out I was going to be a father. That could’ve been me. I'd be fuckin' dead if I didn't shoot that magic load.

I've been given more chances than I deserve, and I know many others haven’t been as lucky. The opioid crisis is devastating communities while politicians give empty speeches about democracy and diversity, ignoring the suffering happening right in front of us.

Notice no politician in the race is talking about helping young men secure housing to start families?

Because they know they can replace you.

Is anyone hammering on the fentanyl deaths that have killed over 50k people since Trudeau took power?

Of course not. They were young, mostly male, and they used drugs. The system considers them a rounding error. They're trash and we import 10 jumbo-jets of people. Every. Single. Day.

Life is cheap as fuck in Canada, and, I guarantee you, Mark or Little PP do not give a shred of a single fuck of the bodies stacked from fentanyl. The system is simply purging losers that would otherwise be a burden on the system when we can import unlimited Rajeshes from India.
