It's OVER. This is Little PP's "Dean scream" moment: |
Most teachers I know had crappy history, science, health science degrees and were forced to pursue teaching because they couldn’t get into med school, work retail jobs or couldn’t find any jobs with their degrees lol. |

One of my best friends is a hs teacher and he is definitely in it because he likes to teach science. Hes also great with kids and teenagers so its no coincidence he decided on that career. We will be out hiking and he’ll stay behind for a few hours to plan his lessons somewhere peaceful in nature. He really loves doing it and I bet his students think hes pretty awesome too. Its no wonder conservatives are always threatening education with how little they think of teachers. |

I'm not even political and even I can see it: Trump doesn't like PP because he's spineless and career politicians are useless at life skills. Trump notices Carney because of his relevant background which, from an art of the deal standpoint, would result in constructive discussions and movement in a direction that is mutually beneficial. Trump hates Trudeau because he's a wumpus faggot who's wife left him. But since he's gone now, it's irrelevant. Nobody likes Juggles. If Eby became Federal NDP leader, watch the popularity numbers climb but I don't see that happening. That all said, anyone who doesn't vote, forfeits their right to complain. |
I think it's an evolving thing ... I have some friends who are in teaching and they definitely went in with the hope of inspiring and influencing youths, good noble reasons. BUT as they work in the system, it is difficult not to get somewhat jaded by the politics, the crappy environment of over crowding, teaching load, no paid time for classroom prep, immigration students, grading, helicopter parents, cell phones, etc. For example, in Coquitlam, the increase in immigration resulted in a lot of youths from parts of the world where culturally, they don't respect females. So you have high student ratios, students feeling entitled, and not listening to female HS teachers. Once a male teacher comes in, they all fall in line. Honestly, you can say the same for healthcare workers, many of whom went in with noble reasons but once they work in the healthcare system ... damn, how do you not get jaded with all the BS. |
Not sure if I (or anyone else here) has mentioned it before, but I am 100% convinced that part of the reason Trump hates Turd is because: - Turd is young and handsome, in good shape, and very presentable, while Trump is an ugly, old, overweight, small hands, losing hair, etc. - Moments like these happened https://media.globalnews.ca/videosta...z5np0/KISS.jpg https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/12828...none&crop=none So at an intrinsic, animal instinct level, Trump already hates Turd. :awwyeah: I don't see why Eby would want to move into federal politics with the NDP. At the federal level, NDP is mostly an also-ran. Sometimes it can play kingmaker, but for the most part, there is far less glory in being a federal NDP politician compared to being a provincial level NDP politician. Plus, is Eby really left-leaning enough to take up the federal NDP mantle? While we are at it, I don't think Doug Ford has quite what it takes to go into federal politics with the aim of becoming the Conservative leader. To be successful, the federal party leaders really need to be fluent in French, and I don't ever recall anyone saying Ford has any fluency in French. IMO even Carney's French isn't fluent and masterful enough at this point, but at least he should be able to improve to a good enough level if he practices it often enough since he is supposed to know French. For the record people who get one of these "crappy" history, science or health science degrees end up, on average, making substantially more money in their lifetimes than those who only have a high school diploma. They don't, in general, work retail jobs, or get "forced" into teaching because they couldn't find work (teaching is a pretty solid career - they make pretty decent money starting at $60k getting up to $109k in the GVRD plus a healthy pension - https://bcpsea.bc.ca/wp-content/uplo...rch-1-2024.pdf) Someone with a health related Bachelor's degree makes ~$1.4m more than a high school grad ($2.4m). The crappy social science grads (like me) make $776k more than high school grad and even humanities grads make $425k more. Source: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/ed...e-earnings.pdf While there are the odd shitty teachers (like this guy: https://www.burnabynow.com/local-new...dents-10428425), I've found the vast majority to be at least good at their jobs and many great. I don't think you'd find that quality of work being produced if they merely were just punching a clock, a lot of these people love (maybe just like) teaching. I had some incredible teachers who touched me (in good ways!) and others; their impact on me were deep and lasting - if they were just there for the summer break they would have fooled me and all their students. |
My buddy with 11 properties and a GT3 has an Anthroplogy degree, that shit doesn’t mean anything. |
Anyone who shits on teachers as a profession is straight up a fucking useless nobody. |
Bra.. I would have bet my life you’d be but hurt over it. As goes for the rest of you lol.. People are predictable as the sun rising. Just because you’re a teacher, you aren’t some Nobel soul doing it to better the world. I went to a very highly rated public elementary school and highschool. Schools which to this day consistently rank high up in the rankings I then spent almost 8 years at BCIT. The number of teachers I could think back about who actually CARED I could count on one hand. Again like omg… you stayed extra late and prepared a lesson plan?!? You’re an Angel!! That’s the job!! lol ffs.. like that is the expectation. That is what you are hired to do. Schools are no different than the healthcare system these days anyways. Everyone in portables, overcrowding, checked out teachers, poor funding. But SURELY the governments, both provincial and federal, which have been in charge for a decade, they will ultimately come up with the solution! They’ve only sunk the ship to levels we’ve never seen previously but no.. trust me.. they are the ones who will fix this :lol It’s a job like any other job. You get jaded, you collect a pay cheque, you get the summer off. With benefits and a pension the vast majority of other people do not get. |

https://markcarney.ca/time-to-build Carney's rolled out his plan for perusal. It's too late in the night for me to read it in detail, comments to come later. No big surprises in there, some things specific, some things not. |

All of these teachers did great work - some of them put hundreds of extra hours into supporting my interests (I was highly active in extra curricular activities) with no extra pay or recognition. |
If all you can pick apart is my phones auto correct after a night of drinking I’ll take it |

This is the difference between conservatives and liberals, left or right , or whatever you wanna label it in its core. One side believes that their privileges are solely because of their own innate talent, their hard work, or unique ability , and that others should be able to do the same if only they weren't lazy and if they were just as "hardworking". And so why the fuck should the less fortunate get help when they themselves "never recieved any help". The ironic thing is these people are this way because they are the recipient of the participation trophies in life, that they are now so against. They are so self unaware that they don't know they are receiving the participation trophy; they think they actually earned what they got. The other side recognizes the privilege they received to get to where they are, and that it was good fortune to be born a certain race, in a certain time, in a certain location, that they have the privileged life they have, and because of that, they should help those who perhaps did not receive the same level of privilege. |
Ok. Fix it then. Fix it at any cost. Fix the education system, fix the healthcare system. I’m willing to pay any cost. Oh.. no one can figure that out? Well shucks.. Obviously people along the way cumulatively helped me to the point where I was able to get these arbitrary pieces of paper.. again though, that was their job. BCIT part time education was a complete sham and waste of money. I give far more credit to elementary and high school teachers than the vast majority of teachers I had at BCIT that were there purely for a pay cheque. People just regurgitating old curriculum, there for a resume boost, etc. they were there for a job, that’s it. There was zero honour or accountability in 90% of the classes I took during part time education and I gained very little for substantial financial investment. In 10 years from now, liberal or conservative, we’re gonna be having these same conversations. |
Just LOL @ brahs trying to defend shitty arts degrees. The odds of finding a job with a shitty arts degree in your field of study is extremely low according to StatsCan, obviously. I have more respect for people going into the trades than someone pursuing a laughable arts degree. |
Will Carney act on this? Conservatives demand Carney fire candidate who said Tory should be turned in for Chinese bounty https://www.theglobeandmail.com/poli...ory-should-be/ |

FYI, an Arts degree includes (but not limited to) these shitty fields of study: - Anthropology - Applied Legal studies - Criminology - Economics (Mark Carney's major) - English - French - Geography - Gerontology - History - International Studies - Journalism - Labour Studies - Linguistics - Political Science - Psychology - Public Policy - Social Work - Urban Studies |
What a surprise the people who turn out to be grown up assholes think they had all shitty teachers too. Maybe you just spent most of your current memory as a prick and teachers hated dealing with you then too? A lot of you need to realize you just hate fucking everything and think everything and everyone else is the problem. Figure your shit out because it's not everyone else's fault, and you aren't better than everyone. |
