By your logic you should be thanking PM Carney for that.

westopher 04-16-2025 09:08 PM

It's actually thanks to trump cause oil prices are the lowest they have been since the depths of Covid cause of the market shitting itself lol.

CivicBlues 04-16-2025 09:11 PM

I mean it's literally Carney's fault for killing the carbon tax but wanna bet he won't get credit? But Trump's tariffs, that's Carney's fault of course!

Hondaracer 04-16-2025 09:19 PM

You guys are the experts

Trump war on the global economy will likely lead to Alberta running a much larger deficit than planned as I believe they budgeted for $68 a barrel and the oil sands start becoming money losers below $60 or so which we're awfully close to.

68style 04-16-2025 10:07 PM

I remember my Economics 11 teacher telling us Alberta has a lot of oil but it was in sands and too expensive to remove it… he said it would never be profitable in our lifetime.

You were wrong Mr. Seney!!! But might actually have a little last laugh here.

That’s sure going to hurt the feelings of the separatist movement that’s getting really loud here lately.

Traum 04-16-2025 10:25 PM

And somehow those low oil prices will be the federal gov's fault too!

Apparently yes, Trump’s tariffs are Carney’s fault for being a bad negotiator!

More than anything, this exposes you as a troll.

You need to get around more. If you think this only happens in Canada, or more than other places, you are insanely ignorant.

This is a visual representation of how the liberal party helped the drug-addicted homeless people in Canada:

I’m more travelled than 99.999% of the world’s population.

As I’ve said a million times before, you can go to Europe etc. and travel for months without encountering the number of homeless you see here in 15 minutes. OF COURSE there are enclaves of poor and homeless people everywhere. However, they aren’t laying in the street, setting up tents in tourist areas, literally everywhere visually.

I could leave my house and find discarded needles and crack pipes in 20 minutes, I guarantee you.

This is all NEW for Canada. It was -never- like this before.

The fact that you have this attitude of “it’s like this everywhere” is both disgusting and ignorant.

westopher 04-17-2025 06:35 AM

What are the conservatives planning on doing to address this homelessness?

Hondaracer 04-17-2025 06:41 AM

Dunno. The opposite of what’s gotten us to this point?

Why is it always, what are they going to do? lol again like.. a decade of the liberals have brought us here, the question remains, why would you trust the people who caused this to fix it? The entire time the conservatives have had virtually no input or control into the legislation that’s largely caused this.

But surely the out of touch millionaire is the one to resolve it. The one person who is further away from these issues than Trudeau was :lol

Then Underscore or someone posts “these issues are going to take a federal approach” and gets all these thanks lol…

Ok.

This shit is embarrassing.

Buddy you've never been outside of North America or Europe. Does that make me 99.999999999999999%? lol

Hondaracer 04-17-2025 06:47 AM

Been to South America, so 3 continents with over a year of travel abroad in the last 13 years? I’d say it’s pretty decent exposure. Please don’t hit me with that “damn sounds pretty good to he complaining” narrative that shit is tired.

If you have more than that I think it’s pretty safe to say that yes, it is 99.99999

I think the biggest issue culturally is that we as a society have come to just accept this. You step over people you don’t batt an eye when someone is sleeping in filth in a doorway etc. It’s the norm now.

I know a few people who are very familiar with Canada who have either lived here previously or come here often and when they return now, the comments are always the same “things have gotten really bad here” people with no stake or affiliation with Canada see the stark difference.

Going to be virtually impossible to break this. But here we are.

CivicBlues 04-17-2025 06:51 AM

Which countries in South America? I don't believe you because if you've been to any S. American city of any size it's 100x worse.

lol I'm just asking you a fuckin question man. What will cons do? This seems to be a top of mind issue for you and the only answer I get is "not the fuckin liberals!"
If you think carney being further away from Trudeau is gonna make it worse, then how are conservatives that are even further down the line from it gonna make it better? Is this graph of what will help them a parabola? All you're doing in here lately is just having a temper tantrum then saying everyone is stupid except for you, so bring some ammo to explain why.

Hondaracer 04-17-2025 07:03 AM

Colombia? Also to Costa Rica which obviously isn’t S.America but again, for essentially 3rd world countries I’d say it wasn’t like main and Hastings or Gas town.

Like yea no shit when you go to Ecuador and people without legs crawling around on sidewalks it’s worse but that’s a pretty low bar.

I already mentioned the link above in terms of creating recovery beds and trying to address “affordability”

I’m not mad I’ve just yet to hear how the exact same people who have brought us here will enact any change? You can tout carney and all his personal achievements as one thing, yet all the MP’s behind him are the same their collective policies are what have brought us here.

I’m not having a temper tantrum I’m just like why am I stepping over homeless people to take transit to work? lol
