I did that back in 2008 or so. Went to Value Village and bought a light blue sweater vest, some grey hair spray, and made a Con campaign button. For added authenticity I talked with a somewhat robotic voice, spouting the most outrageous of conservative talking points.

OTTAWA – Conservative MPs have voted against giving themselves the power to kick Andrew Scheer out as leader of the party, The Canadian Press has learned.

That means the question of Scheer’s leadership will now be in the hands of the party’s grassroots members, who will gather in April for their bi-annual convention.
While I'm not surprised by the Conservative MP's decision to avoid giving themselves the power to oust Scheer, I am a little surprised that Scheer has still not resigned his role as the Conservative Party leader.

He should really have done that, or at least announced a time line or resignation plan when he lost the election. That would have been the respectful thing to do.

How come nobody is asking jagmeet to resign?
Barely a question after losing almost half their already beleaguered seat count.

I believe Scheer made a point of saying that Trudeau should resign if his party wasn't elected.

In all honesty I think Jagmeet is the only reason they got the seats they did manage to steal. With the strategic voting going on it was either Libs or Cons for everyone not in Quebec so any votes that may have gone to NDP were focused down to the red vs. blue battle.

Berz out.

I think what he said applied to a sitting Prime Minister. Harper resigned after his defeat as did Martin.

It's just funny that the ndp seems to be granted leniency for how many seats they lost/didn't lose in a race that was voted strategically red or blue. Yet the consensus of Bernier's campaign was that it was a failure in that same race. Even though he pulled nearly 2% of the popular vote with a party under a year old. The same number of votes as the reform party pulled their first run. Who went on to more than quadruple that their next run.
To put it into perspective, the green party pulled in one tenth of that their first run, and it took them ten years to gain a single seat.

Seems like a lot of double standards by the media and pundits.

You are comparing the number of seats a party got with the number of votes a party got. The PPC only got 1.6% of the vote 16,772 of that was max. The local PPC candidate Jennifer Clark only got 1036 votes. That's about 700 less then I got when I ran for city council years ago. I was only running in Nanaimo she was running in Nanaimo/Ladysmith so there where a lot more voters. The PPC is done.

Can you name me another party, that wasn't formed by alliance, who pulled more votes within a year of being formed?

The Bloc Québécois got 54 seats 26 months after it was formed. You think the PPC is going to get any seats in the next election?

The bloc was an alliance.
To answer your question I have no idea. But like I said it took the greens ten years to get a seat.
I think saying they're done is premature

Then you can say the PPC was an alliance between a former member of the cons and the leader of the Manitoba party.

How is Max who is now out of a job now going to put food on the table? Are your buddies and you going to give money, Is he going to try to find a job? Maybe some US billionaire will make him his pet. Then when an election is called how is he going to fund the parties campaign? Also how many candidates are going to want to run again? running a campaign is not cheap.

Is this the PPC party reformed?

There's so much division on the conservative spectrum right now, very fun to watch... but also a lot of division in the liberal spectrum as well.

Ya sure Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan are all white. It's a white paradise free of all colored people.

I'm just stating the facts. The demographics of those three provinces are 70-80% white.
It would make sense that the majority of those you see rallying for wexit would be white.
Not that I'd paid much attention until you brought it up. Seems pretty racist to be constantly focused on skin color all the time.

Well, maybe a few of them can paint their skin dark and dress up in ethnic garb. Would that make you happy?

Only if they upgrade from the flip phone they use to record video's. News keeps getting better for the liberals.

Talk about corrupt.

Alberta’s United Conservative Party government is terminating the contract of the province’s election commissioner, who has spent much of the past year investigating allegations about the party’s 2017 leadership race that involve Premier Jason Kenney.

Lorne Gibson, who was appointed last year as Alberta’s first election commissioner, has handed out more than $200,000 in fines in a case that has become known as the “kamikaze candidate.” It involves allegations that leadership candidate Jeff Callaway violated election finance laws to fund a campaign that was designed to help Mr. Kenney’s bid to lead the party.
