Anyone up for a recount ... what a friggin mess of a vote counting system! That MacKay, it was his to lose, had an open net and missed! Guess Scheer is having last laugh. |
Great start for the O’Toole era, announcing their slogan: “Take Canada Back” Back from whom exactly? Is it an indigenous led party suddenly? So sick of all this us vs them divisive rhetoric in USA and here it comes up to Canada too. |
Con MP posted a Qanon conspiracy theory bout Soros and Freeland. https://i.imgur.com/5mti9dA.png Edit also retweeted by Pierre Poilievre. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EgnbROEU...pg&name=medium And people think he should be the next con leader. :lol:lol:lol:lol |
Well... these days it is a matter of dumbing things down while still keeping it catchy. For those who are disaapointed / fed up with Trudeau, I'd also say the slogan has a nice ring to it in the sense that they want to "Take Canada Back" from the bumbling drama teacher. Quote:

Man, that George Soros sure gets around, dabbling his progressive agenda in Canadian politics too? :lol People really believe this garbage? |
Wexit cofounder wants Alberta to join the US. LOL!!! https://www.narcity.com/u/2020/08/30...g_1200x630.jpg https://theprovince.com/news/politic...box=1598804371 |
Wexit wants BC Manitoba n Sask to join em :lol can't we just deport all the cons to the usa and rescind their Canadian citizenship? :lol |
It's funny they'd want BC to join them considering how frequently Conservative Albertans whine about the "libtard hippies" out here. |
Imagine wanting to be American right now lol. |
I have a feeling this is a scam like that private wall scam in the states. Right on the front page, they have a big donate button. |

Wexit folks and PPC folks have a lot of overlap. I've seen their kind. Read their Facebook and Twitter posts. They'd get eaten alive in the states lol |

B.C. Election: Premier Horgan to call snap election today, voting date set for Oct. 24 https://theprovince.com/news/politic...-d10363413c95/ |

The right thing to do would have been to just keep doing what he has been doing, and he would have comfortably got re-elected next year. This greedy, impatient bastard... FailFish |
You are surprised that he is like any politician? C'mon ... really? |
Of course I am not surprised -- but he was in the position to at least maintain the facade of being a "good politician". I honestly don't see any need for him to call a snap election -- thus far in his term, Horgan has generally been sensible. Of course he did stuff that showed his NDP tendencies, but for the most part, I don't recall him doing anything radical at all (unlike our neighbouring Premier to the east). And had he continue to act sensibly, he would have easily cruised into a majority win next year. Now he is just another greedy bastard... |
I totally agree, he shoulda waited ... but I'm not surprised, not one bit. |
I don't like them calling an election during a pandemic but they will gain seats. I bet most people don't even know who the leader of the liberals is. I had to google it. |
I have a funny story about Andrew Wilkinson. So my dad is the president of the Vancouver Polish Community Association in Vancouver (That building near the corner of King Ed & Fraser) In tradition, they do a big annual harvest festival every September (with the exception of this year obviously) with food, drink, & entertainment. I go to volunteer with running the A/V setup for the stage. My dad always invites a few local politicians or representatives from various organizations. Don Davies (Federal NDP MP for Vancouver-Kingsway) always shows up, usually a provincial MLA, a rep from Vancouver City Hall and so on. They usually do a meet & greet, with appies and stuff with these VIP guests before the events begin. One year they're doing the VIP hob nob thing and my parents (who are also staunch provincial NDP supporters their entire life) see this dude in the room and they're talking to him and they're giving each other the "Who the hell is this guy?, what is he doing here?" faces. Turns out that Wilkinson was who the BC Libs sent to represent them at the event, but didn't tell anyone. It wasn't until he got up on stage to give the speech for the BC Lib rep that they realized that's who it was. His speech was pretty good though. |
I'm not an NDP supporter at all but I can give them credit, they've done a lot of good things, and not as many bad as I would have thought they would. However this is fucking slimey. The Greens are in no position to be in an election, and the Liberals have actually quietly been a supportive opposition party during the pandemic. They've made the decision to work with the NDP and not speak out against them, therefore they've kind of quietly just not done anything. Now Horgan is riding on the Bonny Henry love train to call this election. And 4 weeks a way too. I think they know covid is going to turn sour over the next 6 months and see it coming. Let's not forget they didn't win the last election either, campaigned on eliminating backdoor deals in the legislature, then weaseled their way into power via a backdoor deal with the greens, and then essentially fucked the greens over anyway. The Liberals are supposed to be the slimey party. NDP is proving themselves as bad or even worse and they're blatant about it |

with the number of politicians all over the province not seeking reelection, combined with new green party leadership, I can see why Horgan wants to shore things up before the situation here gets any uglier. Have fun with your Andrew Wilkinson googling :heckno: |
