^I agree.

The Conservatives have shown no reason that they are currently fit to lead a McDonalds right now.

I do believe we could see JT replaced with a new leader, though. Too much baggage and water under the bridge for him at this point, too much ammo for the Torries to use to discredit him.

Chrystia Freeland would be a perfect replacement IMHO.

^ I'd vote for dat. Get our own hot PM.

westopher 05-03-2021 05:36 PM

I think most people would agree with that. I vote liberal because they are the only party other than the cons. They align with my values much more than them, but if NDP had a plan whatsoever I assume I’d align more with them. That said it pained me to vote for Trudeau last time, and it will hurt even more the next, but I can all but guarantee that my opinions of him being careless in his leadership, don’t nearly outweigh my disdain for the alternatives.

wreck 05-03-2021 06:23 PM

must be in the minority here cause I don't agree with Chrystia Freeland -at all-

Traum 05-03-2021 10:40 PM

While I agree that Chrystia Freeland would be a far better pick than Trudeau as PM, I can't see any reason why Trudeau would willingly give up his PM seat right now.

Yes, his name has been dragged through the mud, but as Mike was saying, the Conservatives have consistently shown that they are in no position to govern. FailFish

So if Trudeau can still enjoy a safe margin of winning, why would he willingly step down on his own? And who can pressure him into stepping down when he could still comfortably take the next win at the federal election?

If the Cons were putting up a tight race, then I can see how the Liberal Party would consider / force Trudeau to step down, and let Freeland take up the party banner. But that is not what we are seeing right now.

whitev70r 05-04-2021 05:04 AM

Need a mutiny on the Bounty ...but don't see that happening. And damn, he's still so young, retirement not on the horizon. He could *gag* become one of the longest serving PM's.

i'm not one to judge, but while she's not an ugly woman, she's not exactly a sight for sore eyes either...

Some proudboys have started a new group.

The announcement of the Proud Boys dissolution in Canada has placed the largely inactive group back into headlines for a second time since their designation as a terrorist group by the Canadian government. As first reported by Global News, not all Canadian Proud Boys or chapters support that dissolution. Then there's the case of the pro-terrorist group Canada First, a former Proud Boys chapter which broke away before the terrorism designation. They remain active. Initially calling itself Proud Boys: Canada First, and now just Canada First, the group is overtly neo-Nazi in ideology; calls for the removal and elimination -- through violent means -- of Jews, feminists, LGBTQIA2S+ people, Black people, Muslims and anyone not white.

Now who was claiming the proudboys are not racist?

Amnesty International released a video highlighting instances of excessive police force during the protests, including a clip in which the group claims officers fired lethal rounds at a crowd of protesters in Cali.

The United Nation's Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights said it is "deeply alarmed" by reports of police shootings, and reminded Colombian authorities of their responsibility to "protect human rights." Amnesty International also tweeted that Colombian authorities "must respect human rights."

"The people's discontent at inequality in Colombia should not be labeled as 'vandalism and terrorism,' nor should it be used as an excuse for violent repression," the organization said.

The anti-corruption activist fell ill on a flight from Siberia to Moscow after having been poisoned with the Novichok nerve agent.

Should I really be caring about any of that?

The yoga example just underlines how completely out of touch the turds are in general.

No, it's totally reasonable to get more upset about a free yoga class as opposed to human rights violations.

Hondaracer 05-05-2021 08:36 PM

Please. People can’t even care about their neighbours here when it comes to their actions during covid etc. I’m not going to feign sadness for something that I’m completely disconnected from.

Btw, if you want to talk about human rights look no further than ya boy Turd who has to tip toe around chinas genocide of the Uyghurs. There’s a home grown example for ya

For someone who does not like outrage culture seems to get outraged a lot over the smallest things. Supersized you did not compare free yoga to nazi death camps.

If I was a staffer I would take the Yoga classes just to get closer to the P.M.

Yet you're upset about a free yoga class. How connected to that are you?

Well it’s politicians that run the country I live in once again showing they are completely out of touch with the average constituent, so it is somewhat applicable. While people are dieing from both covid and the poverty brought on by this govts. Ineptitude to procure vaccines in a timely manner, our First Lady is offering yoga to the “stressed” politicians, lovely

Frankly I don’t exactly care that much about it as I’m completely checked out on this joke of a government. But it just adds to how tone deaf one can be in her case.

westopher 05-05-2021 08:55 PM

I just don't get what the issue is. It's like being mad your neighbour invited you in for a cup of tea after a car accident and being like, well what about my fucking car?
She has no power, she's just a rich person, like every other politicians spouse/partner everywhere on the planet basically. This isn't any more prevalent in this govt than any prior, you're just going out of your way to look for it because you dislike them already.
It's like the guy at work who everybody blames for shit. Eventually, no matter what they do everyone has a problem with it, right or wrong, and there's no logic in it anymore.
