I was both impressed and mildly surprised by the level of detail it has. In particular, I found the letter from the US DOJ to be very interesting (and almost certainly very damaging to Meng). For the same person to have been issued 7 different passports within an 11 year span by China and Hong Kong, I think that speaks volumes about who Meng is and what her ties are. And as a side note, I also think the multiple different Hong Kong passports is also potentially damaging to Hong Kong's international reputation, and could prove to serve as further evidence for the US to cancel the US Hong Kong Policy Act, and therefore seriously cripple Hong Kong's economic and international status.
a company worth billions of dollars and still decides to defraud banks overseas.
let alone having connections to issue you passports as different people.

Beijing has adopted a harsh new tone against Canada, summoning the country’s ambassador to China and threatening “serious consequences” if Ottawa does not immediately release Meng Wanzhou, the Huawei chief financial officer.

HK definitely doesn't allow someone to have 3 valid passports at once. Most likely they were carrying old (or cancelled passports) that still had valid visas on them (eg. USA issues 10 year visa on passport with 3 years left, but they won't move it to the new passport)
China, on the other hand, many business people have 2 passports, one for business travel and one for personal travel. The business passport is usually held by the company and used for business travel only. For some senior executives (manager/director/c-suite level), their personal passports are also held at the company.
on Global last night they had some fucking "Chinese Richmond business society" with some fob's at a desk saying 'we would like gov general to release her as she is very important business"
lol like fuck do you understand even the basics of the circumstances of her arrest?

Apparently, cops were called to her house because people broke in. I wonder if this is a case of people seeing an opportunity to loot the house, or if it's some corporate espionage hoping to swoop in on some Huawei documents

Frankly, I am surprised by how China is throwing another childish temper tantrum and lashing out at Canada like that. Among their whole upper echelon of the politburo (and their lower branches), is there no one who understands how the Western legal system works? Those are criminal charges Meng faces, so unlike how China operates, now that the legal process has already been set in motion, there is (supposed to be) absolutely nothing the legislative and executive branches can do. Barking and lashing out like the mad dog that it is doing right now will only further piss Canada (and the US) off.
Sorry you fucking idiots, when you enter another country, you now adhere to their laws.
You know, I actually have some questions on how Canadian authorities managed to detain / arrest Meng. Supposedly, she was only transferring through the YVR terminal. I doubt the Canadian authorities would make such an elementary mistake, but depending on where exactly the arrest took place, is there any chance that Canadian authorities made the arrest outside of their jurisdiction?
Anyone familiar with how this stuff is supposed to work?

TIf the arrest took place in Canada then is Canada law that applies (We didn't RENT part of our land to China now did we? Think HK long rail train station that connects to China).

Oh yes we have -- it's just that the country we lent part of our land to is called US, not China. Remember all those US immigration officers you see at the YVR?

Whose jurisdiction would any part of YVR be under other than Canada's?
