It was a fleet purchase so I go through a different channel. Discounts applied accordingly. I just place an order and pick it up when it arrives. December 31st just happened to be that day.

Completed teh purchase December 24th over the phone, just picked it up yesterday as a replacement for my MK4. I put 443k on my previous Jetta when the transmission blew, decided to upgrade.

2019 Jetta Execline fully loaded, first one in BC with all additonal options, including the Winter Package (you still can't add that package on VW.ca) and also first white / metallic silver. It was on the boat when I ordered it. I hate the rims, but they will work fine for winter tires.

^congratz! How are you liking the 1.4L turbo with the 8 speed auto?

Did you try Civic, Mazda 3?

The jetta's pedal was stiff from a stop and there was noticeable delay when I tried to put the pedal down from a roll. Other than that, it is a really good car. Not too sure about long term reliability.

Still can't decide what to get in the compact segment...

I'm glad they made this gen of Jetta slightly less boring than the last.

I am literally one day into ownership, but I am liking the motor so far. I miss my TDI - it had 156hp and 267tq, so it pulled out quite nicely while giving 42mpg no matter how much black smoke you kicked out.

I didn't even consider the Civic or Mazda 3, I really don't like the looks of either of them. The Mazda 6 I liked, but I also needed to consider mileage as I drive 200km+ per day and 40k+ per year. SO I was looking for mileage, then looks/features I could live with, for around $40k. The Jetta fit the bill; I like the looks of this MKVII, I didn't car for the 2014-2017 year designs at all.

This new Jetta motor has owners reporting 40-45mpg, so I decided to give it a try. All of the features are overwhelming, plus everything on a touchscreen is cool. My sons like the heated rear seats.

Thanks Mr Jalapeno. I just wish the guys who come by 1) actually have money instead of the ohhh let me go see if the bank will approve the loan, and 2) dont come asking me to drop my pants to 30k... the joys of selling cars on craigs. im seriously thinking of just pulling the damn ad and keeping it.

The Maz GT has aged; but it has aged well. Still get excited when I see a nice one. Such a great noise.

Its a nightmare trying to privately sell an expensive car. I tried to sell my 2012 Merc and one guy actually asked me if he could pay me in payments over 12 months

Ended up selling it to the dealership i work at and we sold it within a week
