Paint Protection Film Wrap and ICBC Question

Hey guys. Does anyone know if paint protection film wrap would be covered through icbc for a collision claim?

I recently had a lease vehicle that was written off. I had paint protection film wrap applied to the car a month after it was leased. It was not done though the dealership. Thanks in advance!

My friend had his company decal replaced under insurance when he got his truck side swiped. I would say they're fairly related, so probably.

Did you think about asking ICBC/your adjuster?

I did ask the adjuster. And this was her response:

I have reviewed your receipt and unfortunately the paint protection film is not covered under your policy. It is only covered under a replacement cost policy.

I've heard of other people who had it covered from a collision. So I'm not sure if the adjuster is trying to screw me.

My friends car was wrapped when he got into an accident and they paid to have it rewrapped.

I think OP is trying to get reimbursed for getting his PPF done since his car got totalled. I'm not sure if they'll pay you out for it. They'll pay to apply it again if your car were to be repaired afaik

Yeah, I'm trying to find out if they are supposed to reimburse me for it. They cover aftermarket parts, so is this an aftermarket part? Haha.

I think for protection like opticoat it isn't covered, but since the film is a physical attachment, wondering if it should be covered.

Had the car for 15 months, and paid $2,500 for ppf. Sucks.

Oh total loss that could be handled differently than a repair claim. Are you at fault?

No, it was a hit and run. So I still have to pay the $500 deductible.

I can see why it'd be covered if the car was being repaired but not if it's written off.

Think along the same lines as tint or painting your car a different colour.
