Gas stove making werid electic noise when plug in
Long story. Basically the gas range was having Ignition with one of the bunrers. I sorta of wipe and clean top with white vinegar and baking soda. A week later I am still having issue with the ignition so I decided to take off the gas regulator and do a deeper clean (seems like the last person living there never taken off the gas regulator to clean). So I start scrabbing away Everything is clean but my gf notice the knot to turn the gas stove on is pretty a bit hot. Then some smoke started coming out. Anywways the noise it was making sounded like buzzing noise and some burn food smell. My guess is that some some the vinegar + baking soda mix somehow got into the electric board and is burning. Unplug the power and the gas off the gas range. The noise and smoke stop coming out but I got the fire dept came in to double check anyways. Everything seems fine the fireman said this is actually pretty common and I just need to wait a day or two and try to turn gas range on. If it is still not working I will need to call a tech in to fix it or replace it.
I waited a day and plug the power back in this morning. There are no more smoke coming out but there is still some buzzing noise but is a lot less and a lot quieter now. There are some burn food smell when the power is plug back in.
Just wondering at this point is the gas range done for good(like I need to replace it?). I can see some food gunk around the knot (to turn the gas range on and to control the fire) but I can't get it out coz the hole is too small. I look at the buttom of the gas range and looks like is seal (the unit is in an apartment and the gas range is on top of the marble counter top and it is seal with those glue thingys so I can't really force is open).
Anyone have any experience on this? I am going to wait a few days and let it dry but I don't think it will do anything. My main concern is that is it even safe to try to test it myself or should I simply call in a tech? The fireman said is pretty safe to test it yourself since the gas is turn on manually so if I notice anything weird as long as I don't turn the gas on it should be pretty safe. And if I do need to replace it how much do these gas range usually cost. I only seen the full size gas range in store but not these apartment ones coz you really only need the top.
