Ohhhhhh pretty pretty please bring this to NA. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Lexus would rake in even more cash than they did with the RX L. An Alphard-sized Lexus would open up the market to soccer moms too proud to drive a Sienna/Odyssey, and black airport taxis would be able to move away from Town Cars.

how come there isnt any luxury mpv in NA? is there no market for any at all?

Badhobz 04-10-2019 07:10 PM

all i am asking is a senna with more sound insolation, better interior materials, and some additional tech & luxury.

BRING IT LEXUS, bring me a hybrid luxury mini van and ill pay whatever the hell you want for it.

The last generation Nissan Quest was a reworked Elgrand. Otherwise, the American style minivan is more than enough car for the average family, and they don't want to pay the premium.

The Toyota Alphard is a tank, a perfect highway cruiser, even though it drinks a lot of fuel. Comfort level is superior, but it is neither dead quiet nor high tech. It doesn't even offer USB port behind the driver seat, the head unit touchscreen is laggy as hell.

My family has owned 4 Alphard V6 in the past, the 1st, 2nd (totaled), 2nd and 3rd gen (below). You should trust a Toyota quality, but don't expect too much out of it. I wish it has AWD and

3rd gen

2nd Alphard (totaled, yes this thing will flip in city road)

@asian_XL
this is my family's 2nd gen V6 Alphard, imported from Japan current at 550,000KM and still going. I do agree this thing is very gas hungry, but great acceleration and fun to drive.

We also own a V class at 30,000 KM V260, I believe is a 4 cyl Turbo. Combined at 12.7 L/100K. Horrible handling and seating position, it's meant to be driven in.

Back on topic, it will be interesting to see the LM sales figure and which area that will be sold at.

twitchyzero 04-10-2019 11:42 PM

is it built on the TNGA platform?

people only import weird JDM vans because they're dirt cheap/rwd/awd

i have my doubts a luxury rectangle will sell well here as a lexus

asian_XL 04-10-2019 11:42 PM

lol...550k is unreal. We put maybe 15k max in a year and that's it. Every 4 yrs around 60k the car will be traded in.

I get around 5-6km per L, don't know the conversion to L/100km or MPG, but it is damn low.

North America love SUV which you rarely see in Asia. That's 1 of reason why no Luxury Van.

I see sprinter Vans lmao. No S or 7s .

@ Asian_XL
The 550,XXX is from long distance driving. Back then, during business trips, the car was sent to Beijing and have the driver pick us up at the airport. So 2 years ago, our driver was having a very bad diarrhea and my family was meeting someone in Shanghai, soo... it was me to drive the fucking car 1500KM 15 hours from the far south to Shanghai. Not doing that again. BrokeBack

yes i understand the quirky appeal, the mass market in america, probably not

i haven't tried driving them but i've been in older noahs/wishes/homys, again neat cars for asia...not sure how they'll translate here

ae101 04-12-2019 04:06 AM

i remember taking a cathy flight to guangzhou and layover was hk, but my cathy was delay (so i would miss my dragon air flight in hk)

so it was either 12hrs in hk and see my aunt or drive to shenzhen and take the bus back home..........my ride to shenzhen in a alphard and it was the most comfortable ride i have every been in PERIOD

loads of luggage and van was packed with 7 ppl straight, it felt so smooth (i like felt asleep), but that was short lived since after i got to shenzhen the bus ride was shit (i seriously wanted to.throw up)

engines are the same as the Toyota Alphard, it is a 4 seaters. The grill looks ugly as usual and what's with the tiny wheels? The Alphard Royal lounge looks better imo

danned 04-15-2019 09:37 PM

don't worry, people still buy it eventhough the beauty of ugliness

JDMDreams 04-15-2019 11:23 PM

Man this is what I hoped the rx450hl would be, long wheel base with nicer back seats not the garbage 3 row seating they have. :yuno:

thumper 04-16-2019 06:45 AM

ultimate lyft/uber ride (except here of course)?

something i have to start thinking about as the parental units get older...

320icar 04-16-2019 07:22 AM

That’s the ugliest piece of shit I’ve ever seen
