Less, substantially less.

Sorry folks, I can't be bothered to post pics, just know that my vales were covered in thick carbon deposits, if a normal valve stem diameter is 4mm the diameter of the thickest deposits on the backside of the valve face were probably 10mm+.

Car drives smoother, I wouldn't say there is more power, just feels smoother to me.

Edit: If anyone is desperate to see before/after pics send me a PM with your phone number and I'll text them to you.

Good stuff. Mike is awesome. If I ever dipped into the Euro scene he would be my consultant.

Is there a reason why you can't input a cleaner into the car's intake via a vacuum tube or overdose on some heavy-duty fuel cleaners for a proper old fashion Italian tune-up?

I use a can of CRC engine degreaser first while the car is idling then barrel down the highway at the red line with a mixture of LiquiMoly fuel additives and a gallon of toulene or xylene on 1/4 tank. Seems to do the trick.

I'd also recommend adding Archoil 6200 to your fuel to allow for a more complete burn thus reducing this soot buildup.

500 USD every 50-100k is probably a steal in overall BMW maintenance, no?

especially if you own an 1M that is not even really depreciating
