My dad got rear ended going northbound on Oak near 57th, he says the cars ahead just suddenly stopped. He was able to stop in time but the car behind him slammed into him.

Didn't think much of it at the time until I read this thread about the new speed lights.

Does anyone know how to get google maps to give audible speed camera warnings? I know it was mentioned earlier this year they would be rolling it out.

I can see that ICBC will increase rates pretty soon

I think it's automatic. Mine has been snitching on the cops for months.

For those with newer Honda Acura Navi systems...just add the speed camera intersections as addresses into your Navi database and have it alert you via audible sound and Navi pop up when approaching. Works great...just program the ones that you would most frequent.

Should work with other OEM Navi systems also?!

So when you approach...the Navi beeps and pops up a msg on the screen. It also shows a ❗️on the map when approaching. So then u have ample time to adjust speed.

So either it's not actually picking them up or only some are in service or?

I've been wanting to map out where the cameras are and while researching, I found that only a handful of them are active. The whole Oak Street is off right now. Only ones on are King Ed/Granville, Victoria/Kingsway, and Kingsway/Boundary in Vancouver.
