Cops run by this guy, one gives him a spray in the face for absolutely no reason, guy yells at cop, they turn around and completely soak him in pepper spray, then keep running.

Once the virus dies down, things are going to be much, much worse than before. The new police chief has radicalized the force beyond what they ever were. They are now a destructive force of evil, instead of just being a bunch of assholes.

threezero 03-08-2020 04:54 PM

is it just me or has honger developed some kind of immunity to pepper spray.

Being soak in pepper spray, dude should be on the floor screaming in pain. Looking at pepper spray reaction from the beginning of the protest and compare it to now, it seems like people are in a lot less pain now when being spray at?

SkinnyPupp 03-08-2020 04:56 PM

Yeah I noticed that too lol... But I've seen the chemical burns to prove it's legit stuff so maybe they just fight it until they no longer can

I'm thinking maybe the police water down their pepper spray since they are obviously abusing its usage.

Cost cutting? lol FailFish

Backstory: In the past month, 2 cops were arrested for stealing crystal meth (ice) from a recent drug raid. Another cop was in court for stealing money at the airport.

China’s ruling Communist Party gave its clearest signal yet that it plans to bring Hong Kong under its full control, with a top official saying Thursday that Beijing wants to “improve” the system that has allowed the territory to enjoy a level of autonomy for the past 23 years.

After steadily eroding Hong Kong’s freedom of assembly and expression, and independent legal system, the party now appears to be readying to change the Basic Law, Hong Kong’s mini-constitution.

...

Hong Kong's mini-constitution requires it to bring in such a law but it failed to do so amid widespread opposition.

...

Beijing has always had the power to enact the national security law into Hong Kong's Basic Law but has so far refrained from doing so.

...

A mainland source told the South China Morning Post that Beijing had decided Hong Kong would not be able to pass its own security law and the NPC would have to take the responsibility.

Hong Kong's government had tried to enact the so-called "sedition law" in 2003 but more than 500,000 people took to the streets and it was dropped.

China has the option to impose it into Annex III of the Basic Law, which covers national laws that must be observed in Hong Kong.

This with the backdrop of USA possibly forcing Chinese companies to delist from the NASDAQ.

We are heading into a cold war.

It's about time to move back to Vancouver!

SpeedStars 05-24-2020 01:49 PM

Threads been pretty dead since corona pandemic but looks like things are ramping up again in HK. China is pretty much forcing HK to become another territory of China instead of respecting it's 1 country 2 systems policy. Could see the US raise some hell with China using this as the excuse and add more to the potential trade war

I had family move back late last year and now they're trying to convince the rest of the family to move back. A huge concern is the future education system that their kids are going to be "brainwashed" with.

whitev70r 05-24-2020 08:02 PM

So the extradition law that Carrie Lam proposed back in June of 2019 doesn't seem so bad compared to this new National Security law, does it?

68style 05-24-2020 08:23 PM

so... skinny... do you want RS to repatriate you or what?

whitev70r 05-24-2020 08:29 PM

Skinny is a HK patriot, he won't abandon ship. He believes in the cause with all his heart. He'll go down with the protesters, I can tell he is willing to get arrested and jailed.

Two of my aunts (who are in the journalism industry) are seriously considering a move to Canada.

Richmond is pretty packed and dense as it is. Can we start building high rise on Annacis Island for this? Or Mitchell?

If there is a return of Hong Kongers to the Lower Mainland, I suspect Burke Mountain and the new subdivisions in Langley such as will be prime areas of settlement.
