Anyways I wonder what happens now if we go back to HK and they check our phone and find out we posted/comment something negative about the HK/China gov online/fb/IG/reddit. Will we be deny entry/lock up in jail because of this new security law like in China? Will we have to use a dummy phone with only basic apps (google service, what's app, wechat) install only?
Also what happens to all the people who been protesting since last year? Will they get arrested due to the security law now? Will the seek refugee status from US/Canada/UK?

I've only reported on what HK people are doing and saying, and also my own observations of what I think is happening. Based on what I can tell, I'm not breaking any of these laws
But who knows?
I'm not that worried about myself personally, more that HK is dead. I knew that was always going to happen, which is part of why I wanted to live here starting in the early 2000s. But I'd thought I'd be in my 60's by then, and retired living somewhere else in the world (preferably with a beach)
BTW this is the best explanation of it that I've seen so far. It's tough because it's so vaguely worded that you can't REALLY tell what can be considered a crime or a "serious" crime. | |

Anyone knows why there were so little protest over this in HK?
The protest was so intense last year over the extradition bill...which seems like a slap in the wrist vs death penalty

is there gonna be a poll in hk:
1. 2014/2019 protests backfired, we lost a very basic freedom
2. protests were in vain, beijing was gonna crackdown anyways
3. at least we fought, and fought hard
sounds dramatic but this feels a bit like fall of saigon
what was anticipated to happen over 10-20 years seem to have changed in mere months
