b) NO he didn't do it. Hey, you're pro-democracy.... so why won't you stand up and tell the truth?

Now that you're released and if you're 100000% NOT guilty, why wouldn't you host a press release to tell the truth, to explain all the illegal interrogations, actions, ill-proper tactics used. You really have nothing to lose cause with you'll probably not go back to China with that record.

I can set the records straight.

SZ has been the haven for mistresses for the last ~15 years, 1980-2000, back then, ~4000 HKD (800 CDN)would go a long way in providing for her for an entire month (apartments were 300,000 hkd). She would have your kid and live happily ever after; tell your wife you have to work in SZ, and have a family on the side. Stories of these mistresses coming to HK, knocking on the doors of their husbands were very common in the 90s.

Dongguan + SZ has gone to shitters now; zero traffic for HK men to afford (the low income who still goes to SZ seeking for cheap girls). As the standard of living has gone up so high. Prostitution back then was cheap, economical and extremely satisfying. Now, unless you know where to go, you are seen as a cheap fuck from HK and poor (don't want your business).

30,000 at a Womens rally tonight, after allegations of sexual assault by police (TLDR: A girl was arrested, stripped bare naked at the station, full body full nude strip search done without gloves (edit: I wrote "cavity" search for some stupid reason, I don't even know if that exists anymore), was asked to "spread em" and then the door was opened to a bunch of cops waiting to see the show) (that is one case btw, there have been several more)

I don't doubt this story for a second. We've seen what cops have done to people WITH THE CAMERA ON THEM, raping an old man with a baton, assaulting his genitals, and smothering his face with his own piss soaked blanket. You can only imagine what they are doing to the young girls and boys that they've been arresting, while at the same time dehumanizing them and degrading them within their ranks.

Cops didn't show up, no violence occured

Another sit-in is planned at the airport this Sunday, so that's going to be something...

At certain areas of the Airport (well, most of it). But no doubt, there will be strong police presence and it will probably provoke more violence.

This lady? The details in this article are different than what you described though, you described rape while officers watched from outside... oO

Haven't found another article yet tho

Same one, except the article you found left out the detail about no gloves being used for the full body strip search. Also the article is a bit obscure about the timing, considering she was in the hospital for days before the arrest/strip search took place. BTW I recommend you not use SCMP as a source anymore.

As for "rape" vs "Sexual assault" or any other descriptions, I'm not sure what you are using to make the different distinctions... When I think of rape I think there's penetration involved, but I could be wrong

Cops were wrong 100%, I believe they tried to hide it stating there wasn't any video and then found out there was. They screwed up.

Therefore, for the story of the girl, 100% agree with you, don't doubt the story at all. It's stupid, careless, and abusive of power on the search of the female via intimidation.

What I think is funny is, cops all around the world have done the same shit (HK, China, USA etc). HK police is not perfect, and even before this, I'm sure there were tons of men who are arrested being treated the same.. but when it came to a female.. woah, all hell breaks loose.

US probably has way more of these abuse of power, improper treatment of the arrested... no one blinks an eye (or at least it hasn't made it to social media platform).

That's cuz we are inundated western media focused on the US police brutality, mass shootings and general gun violence. Hardly registers a blip in our consciousness anymore. To Chinese people this is all pretty new.

I'd say no given HKPD's history prior to 1977. But I guess that might be too long ago and the youngen's have no idea.

I don't normally use scmp, I just googled, and that was the only result I got, it's why I asked for a better one lol

Women officers performed the search and she wasn't cavity searched without gloves, they did a squat test to see if anything would fall out, and they searched her clothes without gloves on. (no penetration) they didn't even touch her with their hands, they tapped on her hands and legs with a pen according to the suspect

The officers in the next room weren't watching either, she just felt uncomfortable after she found out the station was full of people as she left

When I first read your comment I had assumed two male officers, forced stripped her, and shoved their hands everywhere, without gloves, while a room full of other male officers watched

Certainly not true for majority of the chinese population. It may look like this from a western point of view.

CCP won the people's heart by holding true to their promise of economic reform, they basically made a deal with the chinsee population back in the 80s to give up their political freedom in exchange for ecnomic freedom.

Vast majority of chinese support the government because of this. They are aware of this "deal" and CCP has came thru on their end. They've learn from their own leader that intimidation others to further a the agenda of a general population, is an accepted tactic. The key is others, and Hong Kong is seems as "the others" right now.

Part of why communication both way is so hard. Neither can see from each other's vantage point.

I actually like to read some of SCMP's editorial and economical article. But agree with Skinny that you should look for other news source. Since you know we have the ability to do so.

SCMP is hated by the Pro-Democracy movement. Yet it is ban in China for Anti-CCP "Propganda". I hope the irony is not lost here lol.

Calling Shenzhen Crystal Mall is a massive disgrace to the city. Crystal Mall is what Shenzhen was 15 years ago. Shenzhen is now the silicone Valley of Asia. Going from concept to MVP to a working prototype take days/ weeks elsewhere. In Shenzhen you can have a working prototype for by the end of the work day.

They were "standing right outside the door". Why would there be 10 men "right outside the door"?

Anyway if you're suggesting she's just overreacting, I'm going to disagree and I think you should leave it at that.

More scare tactics. It didn't work last time, (parading them at the border in full view) so they are doing it even closer this time. It still won't work. If anything, more people will show up to protests. If they think terrorising the people of Hong Kong will quiet them, they got another thing coming

I was saying Ur description gave me a totally different impression

As for there being officers in the next room, yeah probably was her overreacting, but completely understandably, strip search is highly unnerving. Well actually she didn't even accuse them of watching, just stated there being officers in the next room caused her distress (again understandably)

Jesus the propaganda goes both ways.

The tanks are rolling into Hong Kong because they are reliving the ones station in hong Kong.

The PLA stationed in Hk was always based out of Shenzhen.

This is a regular occurrence and army policy.

n00b question; the garrison stationed in HK is PLA, i know it's probably not that common but can HKers enlist in the PLA?

or is it like US forces based in Okinawa?

probably common knowledge so got the fail out of the way

You know I was going to failed you because I thought this is a stupid question. Of course Hong Konger can be PLA they are technically part of China. Not that any honger would wants to be PLA.

Which is different from the occupying force in foreign county like USA in Okinawa.

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.scmp...y-shelved-wake

Turn out I was wrong.

Honger are not even allow to apply to be governmental official outside of Hong Kong. Looks like the distrust goes both ways.
