A lawyer only does what is requested and based on the information provided. Having a lawyer does not mean someone will answer questions honestly or provide the appropriate documentation. Anyone, good or bad, honest or liars, can have a lawyer.

You have to understand... our reward vs. your reward and our cost vs. your cost. Our reward is to see you renounce your citizenship to prove a point. Your CDN citizenship, if we were to put a value on it, let's say 100G since that's probably the cheapest way for one to get a PR by investing in the middle of nowhere.

You said you left when you were young meaning you had chinese nationality to begin with. If you didnt renounce it then it's even simpler. All you have to do is renounce your canadian citizenship.

China doesnt have dual citizenship. if you leave for Canada, its automatically lost. Your Hukou is gone, so you gotta start fresh. Rule of law is very flexible in china, nothing is really in black and white, unless it goes against the Party. If something favours them, they're a lot more flexible.

I don’t know of anyone who’s actually been able to restore their citizenship in China after leaving. That’s why I’m willing to go through this whole dog and pony show. I don’t think it can actually be done.
