FULLY justified. At any place on the planet (unless you're in UK / Japan, where cops aren't normally armed), if someone posses a threat (let alone attacking), cop has every right to protect him/herself. I do NOT see why people are so shocked.

No. The cop walked TOWARDS the protesters, despite being outnumbered. He wasn't being attacked, they were trying to get him to walk away. He put HIMSELF in danger, with the intent to use his firearm on them. He fucking grabbed a civilian like he was a fucking hostage, and shot the person who was trying to break it up.

If you don't think people should be shocked by a cop walking TOWARDS a hostile crowd with a loaded gun, instead of backing off when given the chance to do so, you're... I don;'t know what you are. I don't think you're stupid, but think about it a bit more. Watch the damn video. This 100% could have been avoided simply by walking AWAY instead of TOWARDS the protesters. This is one of the cases where tear gas and pepper spray would have been justified if they need to disperse the crowd. Not some fucking cowboy walking in there grabbing hostages and shooting at people.

Next you'll tell me that if the cop who drove his bike into the crowd had been unseated and attacked, he'd be in the right for shooting people there too.

Okami 11-10-2019 06:28 PM

And what about the protesters? Are they supposed to walk away before or after they leave a bunch of shit on the streets blocking the road?

Completely agree with Skinny on this one. Out of all the incident that someone could of been shot.

This is the most avoidable and tame situation.

Po literally reacted to the white hoodie kid yelling DLNM at him. Flip the fuck out and shot a weaponless kid.

He didn't even catch the white hoodie kid.

Doesn't matter they are just doing business nothing more. Just cause they are state owned it could be a franchise so really is the owner of these shops that these protestor are hurting. Since the shops are damage they can't be open so the people who they employed (I would assume they hire mostly Hongers) So by destroying these shops the protestor are actually hurting the people of Hong Kong. Also damaging MTR station you are really putting every Hongers who takes use the MTR coz the stations are closes and MTR is force to stop service early.

Protestor shot point blank right in the stomach by HKPD. A traffic cop nonetheless….

Old dude on the sideline clapping….

These are not rubber bullets right?

Police tear gassing a banker/white collar lunch break rally in Central. Usually they leave these alone, but they are completely unhinged today. Lots of people caught up in it just going about their day

Tear gas deployed in school playgrounds, students evacuated. Schools are all closed, trying to get kids home under this terrorist attack

No doubt the cop fucked up there, but it also wasn't exactly the wisest decision for the dude to try to swat or grab the cop's gun.

Everyone is saying the situation could've been avoided if the cop walked away. Same could be said if the other two protesters in black stood back the moment a gun was drawn.

I think the blame goes both ways in this situation.

Shits about to escalate. Stay safe Hong Kong. Cops are going even more nuts now. They’re pretty much going around beating up anyone they suspect. Cops are purposely going around trying to stir up people to arrest them.

"The naked body of a 15-year-old girl was found off Tseung Kwan O shores. Protesters quickly concluded, as they do with practically every body found that was not immediately identified, that she was the victim of a police murder."
Then after people did some research the mom finally came out and sayid “I want to clarify this, she took her own life instead of being killed,” Ho said.

This is the latest rape complaint.

"HONG KONG LAW & CRIME POLITICS & PROTEST Woman files complaint against Hong Kong police over alleged rape in station"

Can we believe South China Morning Post? or do we believe Yahoo news? or do we believe HK free press. I gotta see who this plays out.

No, the blame goes to the one who ran in with a fucking gun. The one that is supposed to keep peace. Fucking god dammit man, this is beyond victim blaming.

SkinnyPupp 11-10-2019 10:57 PM

Some crazy fuck started chasing after some vandalizers in an MTR station, taking it upon himself to arrest them (I guess?). One of them poured lighter fluid on him and lit him on fire.

If you come across the video, please don't post it here. Post it in the gore thread.

Also fuck everyone and everything

I'm not saying the blame lies solely on the victim, but c'mon.. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to not back the fuck up if you see a cop has his gun out.

If it was any other thread, all of RS would be saying something along the lines of - "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

I know that you live in HK and see this on a more personal level, but you really have to view these situations objectively.

There's a photo of it going around already. Looks like a jump, but no cracked skull or blood. Clearly planted.

Supposedly looks like Chan Yin Lam's mom.

If you look at it as objectively as possible, my previous post and threezero's post explains it pretty well. Was it "stupid" to swat at the gun when he was holding his friend hostage? Yes!

Now think if you were in a country under constant attack by terrorists, and one of them runs at you and your friends with a gun, holds one of your friends hostage, and points his gun at you. Would you swat at a terrorist's gun? It's definitely a good way to get yourself shot. But you might just do the "stupid" thing and try to rescue your friend. Who's to say?

Let's not try to exaggerate the situation in HK :rukidding:

OK first of all, I am only really trying to give people here the perception that is held by HK people. This is why I take issue with the statement that I am "100% for the protesters". I've said it before, I am not pro-protester. I am pro-liberty, pro-freedom, pro-self-determination. Anti-terrorism, anti-fascism, anti-totalitarian.

So you might think it's ridiculous to call the police officers terrorists. Maybe the only stuff you see from Hong Kong is the stuff I post (and I only post about a tenth of what I see, and that's not even taking into account the BS fake shit I see) and you can dismiss most of it as "playing stupid games". Maybe you think when a cop drives his motorcycle into a crowd, running down protesters, you might think "they were playing stupid games", and it's their fault for not hiding in fear when police are around. I know some people here are thinking that (and thankfully they are keeping it to themselves)

Anyway, to most average HK citizens, the police force have turned into a terrorist force.

So it's important that I give RazorRamon the perception that is being held by this protester. Maybe RR sees all this footage, and thinks they are just regular cops who "maybe got a bit overzealous". Everyone else sees a terrorist group that is using violence and intimidation against them, in the pursuit of political aims.

So to put RR in that perspective, I ask him to imagine a similar situation - Canada is under attack by terrorists. He could stay home and "put his head down" and make money, and maybe that's what he'd do. Or maybe he'd be out there taking part in anti-terrorist actions any way he could. Either way, one comes at him with a gun, takes his friend hostage. The option is to fight the terrorist, or run. This guy chose to fight, and paid the price for it. Does that mean he's to blame? Would you do the same in that situation? Before placing blame on the person who was shot by a cop who ran into a crowd with a gun and took a hostage, at least think from his point of view for a second or two.

SkinnyPupp 11-11-2019 01:09 AM

Good on the police (or more cynically, they couldn't find a way to twist it since the evidence was so blatant)

One dim sum place even try to reason with the protestor not to go in to the store and destroy but the protestor did not listen and went in to destroy it anyways when regular people are in there eating having dim sum.

You always claims these protestor are thugs hire by the police/CPP to make the protestor look bad when when the police came and arrest them using physically force (causing some of them to bleed) I don't think they are hire by the HKPD/CPP. Also more and more people are wearing black shirts, mask with weapons and is out there just looking to destroy things/blocking traffic and the HKPD is not even in that area yet. So I don't think HKPD escalate the violent in these cases.

The protestor who are causing all these violent should be arrested.

This thread is basically one dude posting Honger propaganda. Anything slightly against these clowns, the tin-foil hat go on with undercover, secret police starting shit. Anybody not on protesters' side are treated as stupid.
