If you don't think people should be shocked by a cop walking TOWARDS a hostile crowd with a loaded gun, instead of backing off when given the chance to do so, you're... I don;'t know what you are. I don't think you're stupid, but think about it a bit more. Watch the damn video. This 100% could have been avoided simply by walking AWAY instead of TOWARDS the protesters. This is one of the cases where tear gas and pepper spray would have been justified if they need to disperse the crowd. Not some fucking cowboy walking in there grabbing hostages and shooting at people. Next you'll tell me that if the cop who drove his bike into the crowd had been unseated and attacked, he'd be in the right for shooting people there too. |
And what about the protesters? Are they supposed to walk away before or after they leave a bunch of shit on the streets blocking the road? |

This is the most avoidable and tame situation. Po literally reacted to the white hoodie kid yelling DLNM at him. Flip the fuck out and shot a weaponless kid. He didn't even catch the white hoodie kid. |

Police tear gassing a banker/white collar lunch break rally in Central. Usually they leave these alone, but they are completely unhinged today. Lots of people caught up in it just going about their day Tear gas deployed in school playgrounds, students evacuated. Schools are all closed, trying to get kids home under this terrorist attack |
Shows a few extra seconds before the gunshot: Entire 10 minute video (above vid starts at 2:00): |
No doubt the cop fucked up there, but it also wasn't exactly the wisest decision for the dude to try to swat or grab the cop's gun. |

I think the blame goes both ways in this situation. |
Shits about to escalate. Stay safe Hong Kong. Cops are going even more nuts now. They’re pretty much going around beating up anyone they suspect. Cops are purposely going around trying to stir up people to arrest them. |
"The naked body of a 15-year-old girl was found off Tseung Kwan O shores. Protesters quickly concluded, as they do with practically every body found that was not immediately identified, that she was the victim of a police murder." Then after people did some research the mom finally came out and sayid “I want to clarify this, she took her own life instead of being killed,” Ho said. This is the latest rape complaint. "HONG KONG LAW & CRIME POLITICS & PROTEST Woman files complaint against Hong Kong police over alleged rape in station" Can we believe South China Morning Post? or do we believe Yahoo news? or do we believe HK free press. I gotta see who this plays out. |

Some crazy fuck started chasing after some vandalizers in an MTR station, taking it upon himself to arrest them (I guess?). One of them poured lighter fluid on him and lit him on fire. If you come across the video, please don't post it here. Post it in the gore thread. Also fuck everyone and everything |

If it was any other thread, all of RS would be saying something along the lines of - "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes." I know that you live in HK and see this on a more personal level, but you really have to view these situations objectively. Quote:
Supposedly looks like Chan Yin Lam's mom. (NSFL) - Twitter link in the spoiler tags. Spoiler! |

Now think if you were in a country under constant attack by terrorists, and one of them runs at you and your friends with a gun, holds one of your friends hostage, and points his gun at you. Would you swat at a terrorist's gun? It's definitely a good way to get yourself shot. But you might just do the "stupid" thing and try to rescue your friend. Who's to say? |

So you might think it's ridiculous to call the police officers terrorists. Maybe the only stuff you see from Hong Kong is the stuff I post (and I only post about a tenth of what I see, and that's not even taking into account the BS fake shit I see) and you can dismiss most of it as "playing stupid games". Maybe you think when a cop drives his motorcycle into a crowd, running down protesters, you might think "they were playing stupid games", and it's their fault for not hiding in fear when police are around. I know some people here are thinking that (and thankfully they are keeping it to themselves) Anyway, to most average HK citizens, the police force have turned into a terrorist force. So it's important that I give RazorRamon the perception that is being held by this protester. Maybe RR sees all this footage, and thinks they are just regular cops who "maybe got a bit overzealous". Everyone else sees a terrorist group that is using violence and intimidation against them, in the pursuit of political aims. So to put RR in that perspective, I ask him to imagine a similar situation - Canada is under attack by terrorists. He could stay home and "put his head down" and make money, and maybe that's what he'd do. Or maybe he'd be out there taking part in anti-terrorist actions any way he could. Either way, one comes at him with a gun, takes his friend hostage. The option is to fight the terrorist, or run. This guy chose to fight, and paid the price for it. Does that mean he's to blame? Would you do the same in that situation? Before placing blame on the person who was shot by a cop who ran into a crowd with a gun and took a hostage, at least think from his point of view for a second or two. |
Good on the police (or more cynically, they couldn't find a way to twist it since the evidence was so blatant) |

Police are leaking details about her and trying to discredit her already. We can only hope that justice prevails here, but who knows |
