Its only comical when they can't get away with it. Its absolutely terrifying that they can even suggest it. According to China, Hong Kong's judicial system is just an imagination.

Pretty much it.

The latest appointment of the new Chief of Police was appointed from Lam, under the “recommendation” of Beijing.....

One country. And which country would that be?

China. HK is part of China. But HK is governed differently than main land China.

HK is like a warzone now. It's insane. Just a battle between Chinese media propaganda vs western media propaganda. It's an escalation of an eye for an eye between the cops and the protesters. Yes it was a peaceful protest to kick things off but now it's a full on riot, with a bunch of poor kids tied into the chaos...

I thought this nyt article was pretty funny too:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/18/w...gtype=Homepage

so people with weapons are still considered protesters overseas. In they state's they'd be considered as terrorists.

I dun get it, are the foreign students (the ones not protesting) being shot at? Why don't they just walk out with their hands on their heads, they're not even protesting...

Honestly, it might be best for the remaining protestors to just walk out with their hands up and surrender during the middle of the day when all the cameras are rolling. I know what they are fighting for, but let's face it... They are surrounded and barring external intervention, it's only a matter of time before the police crush them. Who knows what sort of police brutalities will happen once the cameras are off or under the cover of darkness/tear gas/smoke/etc.

Hkpfs motto is to serve with pride and care

RCMPs motto is to 'maintain the law'

Nope, that was pretty fucked up, I'd like to see what happened that caused the cop to go over to him, regardless though, that was ridiculous
They changed their motto today:

They no longer care (about the people), have no pride (who could?). But they are loyal (to the CCP), serve their duty (to oppress the people), with their own version of (tyrannical) honor

Seems about right

Jokes aside, it sure does seem more like a military like slogan than a public service slogan.

Like every bit of attempted propaganda and information shaping out of china, it completely lacks any form of subtlety.

Thousands of people tweeted to them every single day about the old motto, so I guess they can say they listened to the people

HK Bar Association responds

Quote:
Under Article 19 of the Basic Law, the HKSAR shall be vested with
independent judicial power, including that of final adjudication. Under Article
85, the courts of the HKSAR shall exercise judicial power independently and
free from interference. Any suggestion that the Courts in Hong Kong cannot
conduct constitutional review circumscribes the exercise of judicial power by
the Courts which they have always enjoyed and is contrary to the Basic Law.

It also undermines the high degree of autonomy granted to the HKSAR under
the Basic Law.

Domestic terrorists. Shoot to kill.

In the "land of the free" you get shot for looking the wrong way or making sudden movement. These clowns expect to "escape" when they hold a landmark hostage and shooting at cops? Delusional.

The protest lost the moment they resort to violence. Easy job for the Chinese government now. You know what the "free men" likes to say: "We don't negotiate with terrorists".
