Dude, you need to get some rest and sleep. This is affecting your mental health. | Let me get this straight.
Since I said I did NOT judge someone for the socioeconomic platform they identify with, that means I said something SO BAD that I am suddenly a China shill, or my account was "hacked" or I am having a mental breakdown.
Again:
So I'll say it again: I don't have anything against communists. I don't agree with it, but I don't have a problem with it. I certainly take issue with some people who are (or were) communist, but the economic platform itself is not really the issue.
I also don't have a problem with capitalists either. Or socialists. Or christians, muslims, white, black, chinese, straight, gay, trans, chinese, canadian, filipino... basically ANYONE.
If it's not acceptable to you to NOT have prejudice against people who believe in communism... Sorry no, you're the one having a mental breakdown, not me. Are we living in 1954 again? Fucking god dammit... If I ever have a mental breakdown it's because I have to think about this shit here on fucking revscene. |

have a look at all surviving communist states
can usually find good examples of tightly-controlled media or a twisted judiciary system or both
somebody's gotta keep the peasants in line

It's authoritarianism you have an issue with, not communism itself. And authoritarianism can be used along with communism (like in North Korea) or capitalism (like in China (kinda)). Likewise, democratic states can utilize different types of economic ideologies.

Remember this dude, allegation on kidnapped by China, tortured in custody.
3 key points: 1) "held" by China 2) tortured 3) accused of soliciting "services / sex / massages"
BBC finally did the story and some truth came out.
I can't say he got kidnapped, I would say yes he got detained. Did he get tortured.... i would have to say eyahhh he most likely did. Was it over exaggerated, of course.. you gotta play that victim card to the max.
video of him going in and out of this "resort" 2/3 times and into a room for service.
this was his confession video; of course he's all calm now ahahhaha probably cause he got beat up and tortured.
Glad this came to an end, to date, he has not omitted to the "crime" in front of BBC. "I didn't do anything to hurt my loved one; I don't want to answer this allegation cause that's exactly what China wants you to focus on."
Well played, quick learner from Clinton ahahah

Nah, I think the analogy should serve its purpose well enough. | Still waiting for that explanation.
Or will it be the usual: mash fail button/ignore/label troll/fascist/whatever buzzword so many here who've disagreed with you have come to know?

All I can do is try to help people understand what's going on. If they don't understand it (doubtful since I made it as simple as possible, and I try to no longer assume stupidity) or refuse to understand it (more likely, due to the nature of certain peoples' other posts) then there's nothing more for me to say.
All I can do is try *shrug*
Some will get it, some never will. In the latter case, there's no reason to respond. Just fail the bad posts, ignore the innocuous posts, and move on, debating and chatting with the more intelligent/open minded people so we can learn from each other.

You think you're open minded? Your only recourse to those you've disagreed with has been to dismiss, label and hit fail. It's actually comical that you even think that.
Sorry, but one individual sovereign country invading another individual sovereign country is nothing like what's going on there.
In fact there's probably no accurate comparison you could draw in the world because no other individual country (that I'm aware of at least) has employed this cockamamie principal of one country two systems.
Here's an analogy for you; your comparison is like apples to airplanes.

I've posted some video of police beating people in front of cameras, but what they do at the station is much worse.
Translation from reddit: Quote:
On Monday night, the police arrested around 1000 people in the TST/YMT/MK area who were trying to save the trapped Poly students. 242 of the arrested were charged with rioting. Of the 60 people who were due to go to court yesterday, 8 were absent as they were still in hospital. One of the arrested complained that he was beaten in the head by the police with a baton, he was seen with bruised eyes that resembled a panda and could bearly open his right eye. There were also claims that the police requested the arrestee to strip naked and get into poses like squatting and the "downward dog" stance. They also had to stand naked under the aircon. The majestrate requested that the complain to be forwarded on to the officer in charge.
A defendant needed 2 stitches to the back of the head
Bail's set at 5000 dollars for the 8 defendants.
The prosecution alleged that the defendants had swiss knifes, molotovs, hammers and spanners. However the defendant's barrister pointed out that the defendant didn't have them when be was arrested and that the evidence is weak and the charge is bogus.
Defendant Fung, who works at the airport, had bruised eyes resembling a panda. He struggles to open his right eye, there were bandaids on his right cheek and forehead. His barrister states that Fung was struck in the head by an unidentifable police officer after he was subdued. Fung was not resisting at the time.
The judge asked if Fung complained to the police at the time and the barrister said no. After examining Fung'a injuries, the judge asked the prosecuter to forward on the complain to the officer in charge.
Defendant Leung's barrister stated that his client was struck by police with baton in the back of the head and legs. Leung needed 2 stitches to the back of his head
Hitting the defendant where he is injured
Leung's barrister also stated that Leung was struck in the left shoulder twice. After Leung was taken to KT police station, he was verbally abused by the police.
Another police office asked Leung to take off his glasses. Leung was slapped in the face after he complied. The officer then asked Leung where he was injured. After telling the officer that his left shoulder was injured, the officer struck his left shoulder again. Leung was the asked to strip naked and get into various degrading poses before being asked to stand under the aircon.
Leung's barrister also complained that Leung had to ask to see the doctor 5 times and wasn't allowed to go to the hospital until he gave his statement. The doctor confirmed that Leung suffered a broken shoulder and he was delayed 18 hours before getting any treatment.
Another defendant, Chan, was punched near his left eye after being subdued.

Here's an analogy for you; your comparison is like apples to airplanes. | An analogy is to help people overcome their preconceived notions (which are NOT wrong to have) in order to help them view things from another perspective.
An analogy is not meant to mirror the analog 1:1 precisely. It only needs to get an idea across, giving people a perspective they might not otherwise have when considering that idea.
What you are thinking of, is a comparison. We are not comparing the unconstitutional takeover of Hong Kong to a hypothetical takeover of Canada (because wtf would be the point of comparing reality to hyoptheticals?). We are using an analogy to give you, a non Hong Konger and someone who isn't familiar with the details, the view of what it would be like to be in the situation of an unconstitutional takeover. There is no exact 1:1 scenario in Canada where a country would break their constitution by taking them over, so the only feasible alternative is a hypothetical hostile takeover.
I actually am surprised I had to write that. I mean I would be if I didn't know your actual intentions. But there it is. I had good faith in my posts, and that's the best I can do. I feel confident I can leave it at that, and be correct. If you refuse, that's fine. Just don't be so surprised when people decide to dismiss you |

No, an analogy is a comparison of two completely different subjects to draw familiarity.
China is to Hong Kong what a fox is to It's pup. That's an analogy.
You compared one country to another. That's a comparison. and a poor one at that.
You just have too big an ego to admit your fault so you double down and hit fail every post.
Humility is to man what rain is to a flower. Analogies are fun, aren't they?
