| Took on the Heartbreaker Dyno...
...and absolutely annihilated it
Sigh...if only I wasn't joking and the above wasn't the result of a software glitch.....
Here are the actual results from the Mustang AWD-500 with before and after tune numbers:
2005 Nissan 350Z Roadster
- NISMO sports air filter (dry type)
- Motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer
- NISMO S-Tune Y-pipe
- NISMO S-Tune exhaust
- Uprev tune

Consistently use the same dyno, to see tuning results. That's all that matters.

Which gear was it pulled on? And what kind of numbers were you expecting?
It looks like some kind of software bug if you study the graph carefully. The video does not seem to tell the whole story.

Hmm...odd...the image I tried to link earlier didn't appear.
Fourth gear pull and got pretty much what I expected.
According to RG, stock Z33s put out 200 - 205 hp on the heartbreaker, so I'm quite satisfied with what I managed above. Mustangs always read lower, and with this particular one the estimated loss is apparently 30%, so I'm estimating 310 at the crank.
The Vortech bug is starting to bite, with which my heart agrees, but the wallet says no.

That's not too bad. You have some heat soak on run #2, but other than that, the hp/tq numbers are consistent across the runs with small margin of variance. The hp seems to be linear up to red line, so that's a good thing. You have a good baseline now, and should you make any further changes/improvements, it should look better the next time. Like fliptuner said, keep using the same dyno the next time when it comes to tuning.

I remember when I had my focus ST. Took it to RG stock and put down something like 186/225 to the wheels and was pretty disappointed. Went back a year later after some bolts ons and tune and did 270/330 and was much happier!
Haven’t taken my RS yet though...

Do they still have dyno days there? Back in 03 my friend took his brand new SVT Lightning with something like 300 KM on it to dyno it. I remember it putting down like 440 torque (can't remember horsepower).

Catless turboback and an intake. I did some other upgrades/reliability mods after but never brought it back to dyno to see what difference it made. |

Too often we just look at peak numbers and try to measure up against others. Real results and comparisons are seen on the strip.

Crazy how far we've come.
My old man's Ecoboost put 375ftlb/482tq on RG's dyno with simple bolt ons. Just nuts.

My stock 1999 GS400 did fairly well on that dyno as well. 300HP factory rated, 20 years and 240K miles later, I was pleasantly suprised |
