Also, “...enough power to drive as far as 100 kilometers (62 miles) in four minutes.” That works out to 1,500 km/h. Ladies and gentlemen, the worlds first mach 1 road car.

I think you forgot to add the rest of that quote...

To help drive uptake, Porsche is installing fast chargers at dealerships in the U.S. and Europe that will load the Taycan’s battery with enough power to drive as far as 100 kilometers (62 miles) in four minutes. The car’s total range on a single charge stands at 500 kilometers.
Anyway, I just hope the gov't or companies install more lvl 3 chargers. Such a pain trying to find one that's not in use when I had the Jaguar I-Pace last week on demo.

Reads the same. I was, of course, being sarcastic.
I know I shouldn't, but I feel so so so unexcited watching anyone test drive an EV... whirrrrrr 100... whirrrrrrr 200... okay it's fast. Cool.
It's just so single faceted and unemotional, like take that most recent BMW hill climb video in the bad ass car videos thread... how ho-hum would that video be to watch if it wasn't for that inline-6 burbling and revving away, seeing/hearing/feeling all those and up and down shifts?
I guess it's time to start accepting how boring the future is going to be...

For me its not necessarily the electric powertrains, but the fact the cars are all like 5 tons and look awful. Same thing with most non electric cars these days though too.

What I don't get is why these EV testers are acting like the 0-60 is giving them an insane feeling, as of its going fast af, yet it took them over 3 seconds...

It's the instant torque I think. Both my sister and brother test drove EV's and talked about how fast they ecelerated. Sister just ordered a Model 3 and brother is probable getting a Etron.

The instant torque makes it feel faster than it actually is. My car is a high 4 car but it feels much faster because of the punch you get from the torque. It just knocks you back in your seat.

For once I have to agree/disagree with you. Yes, I cannot say that modern electric cars look good, but they are new! Remember how every time new bumper laws and crash regulations come in for conventional cars, the vehicles designs look like shit. But by the end of that design cycle they look amazing! Think of the early 90’s to the end of the 90’s.
Same goes for EV’s. You don’t need nearly as much airflow for cooking so you can start designing for low drag coefficients while confirming to the laws. Modern electric vehicles are an extremely young technology versus ICE’s, give it time to get out of the awkward teenage years
