It might get you an IS or ES but when you compare features and his requirements, the Avalon is likely to trump both models, dollar for dollar.

i doubt OP will be getting '19 avalon or ES, because they both fall outside of his price range. So from that perspective, i don't know how the avalon is better suited to his requirement. Also i'm talking about the ES vs avalon argument, not an IS.

If i'm buying my old man a car, giving him a lexus just sounds better than a toyota, even if it's technically the same thing

lol no, the type R is loud inside. The hatch design lets in tons of road and wind noise to the cabin

Used Lexus ES hands down. So quiet, comfortable and reliable. I drive mine everyday and am still amazed at how well it soaks up bumps. The comfyness actually makes it fun to drive in its own way. Very satisfying.

hmmm wonder how those Hyundai Genesis Pre owned are or even those demo Genesis.

Should be decently quiet cars and seems to be bang for the buck on the market.

Actually, I looked at one a few months ago for myself. I'm surprised there aren't that many CPOs. (I think there's only 1-2 right now in BC).

The CPO I looked had some quality issues that left me a bit worried considering it's only a 3-4 year old car. It had cracked leather on the side bolsters already and tons of scratches on the hard plastic area. + the sale staff wouldn't nudge much on the price :-/

Definitely a good car to consider but I personally won't pay more than 25k for it.

I mentioned it in the first page... lol

Mine's been great the past 4 years. Haven't had any issues with it other than the tires being expensive.

420hp
Quiet interior
5.1 DVD audio
HUD
LKAS, Blind spot
Auto tilt/folding mirrors
Auto wipers/headlights/high beam
Adaptive cruise
Heated/cooled seats
Massive trunk

For me, it's been the perfect cruiser. Only gripe is that the top level ultimate trim didn't get AA or CP. For under $30k, you can't really do better featurewise. The ones sold under Hyundai are going to be cheaper than the used Genesis G80 models.
