Brake Replacement Help on 02 Pontiac Montana So my dad's crappy van needs a full brake overhaul, consisting of front and rear brake pads, rotors, probably e-brake too. Problem is, I'm a BMW guy and I have no idea what to do with an American car. Also doesn't help that there's not many documented DIYs out there for this particular car. Mostly SAE sizes right? Is it a disc brake or drum brake? What are the go-to brake pad brands for these American cars? I would think Akebono or Hawks would be overkill LOL. Does it have a friggin rotor screw? (Probably gonna have to torch the shit outta it, if so) Anything else I should look out for? Thanks! |

Metric. Rotor retaining screw? Impact driver. Just get a decent set of pads and rotors. EHT's and Raybestos discs. If it's drum rear, make sure you get some springs and check for leaks at the wheel cylinders. |
