I thought Demon Souls was a great launch title. But then again, I'm biased because I wanted to complete the one game from the Souls series I hadn't been able to.

Demon Souls IMHO is too niche of a game type to qualify as a launch title. Spiderman is essentially a repack of an already existing title and engine. Not exactly glowing launch titles.

TBH I treated Cyberpunk as the real launch title for PS5, and XBOX X, but apparently not

I messaged 5 sellers on FB marketplace and only one had it sold the oldest ad was 6 days old. One of them even had need gone in the title but would not budge on the price. Digital editions are now going for $900. The asking price has dropped by around $200. No one is buying these. Prices will drop further before Christmas and stores will see a lot of returns after Christmas.

Anyone getting coil whine from their PS5?

I have the disc version and it was silent the first couple weeks, but just recently it's started to make a buzzing sound. Really only noticeable when the game is quiet (Demon Souls) and also when I run a game off of a disc. It doesn't make the sound when I'm playing digital PS4 games or in the menu.

Will this buzzing sound go away over time?

I know this is an old post, but the reason they took it off the store is because they don't have a refund policy on games they sell. So to be able to offer refunds, they had to basically de-certify the game.

XBOX has a refund policy, so continued to sell the game. If someone wanted a refund before playing it too long, they always could have refunded it. They actually removed or extended the play limit for this specific game, so you can refund even after playing for quite a while.

Once a game is downloaded, it can't be refunded. Their policy is somehow even worse than Nintendo's

I have it and its audible if I stick my head near the PS5 otherwise its whatever. My PC gets it as well sometimes but never really bothered me

It's definitely annoying, but it's not loud enough for me send out to Sony. I might wait a couple months when they get their QA sorted out and then send it in for a replacement.

But what I'm seeing online is that a majority of the PS5s are having this issue. Some people got it way worse

Next time there is a drop, just hit ESC right as the page loads. It'll prevent the queue splash screen from loading and you can add it to the cart. Someone else posted that tip in this thread or the computing thread.

Still passively trying to get one here as well. I'm actually surprised that even after the holidays, it's still been difficult.

I've purchased every generation of console release from Sony here -- PS2>PS3>PS4>PS4PRO and I've never seen anything like this, absolutely bizarre.

Nintendo Switches were hard to find prior to the Xbox/PS5 release. Now they're just taking up space on store shelves.

Part of me thinks it's the manufacturer trying to create hype. All these news about shortages is pretty much free marketing.

Nintendo didn’t hide the fact that it was their marketing strategy as it’s been as far back as the Wii.

PS5/Xbox lose money on every console and make their profits off games and subscriptions, so they want as many of them out there as possible.

COVID has allowed a lot of people to save money by spending significantly less disposable income from not going out. It's a no brainer.

PS5 disc was up at 9pm and the stock kept replenishing . After it went out of stock, I kept refreshing my cart over and over again and could have ordered it at 9:08pm. Went all the way to the end of checkout but I didn't place the order.

Nope. Something massive needs to be announced still but hasn't yet.

i give no shits for 4k upscaled games, its the saddest console launch by far.


i use to be super hyped when the gears of war series would announced along side Microsoft's New console or any other massive series.


Or Playstation's console with the Naughty Dog studio's cooking up AAA titles with a release date, lot of other game studios like Insomniac Games that released Bangers like "Resistance: Fall of Man" was absolutely insane showing the ps3's graphics



And you OG gamers remember when Super Mario world was launched with the Super nintendo packaged in the console and you were like "Holy, this looks fun and check out the graphic's! "
