Is Baldur's Gate anything like Divinity in terms of gameplay? Me and my buddy loved playing that game in 2 player couch co-op so I've been looking for another game like it
Yes they are very similar; I think if you like one you'll like them both. BG3 has real time split screen co-op too and while I haven't tried it myself, people rave about it
i'm assuming if i have a choice of finding a used copy, it'll be better to find one on xbox vs switch right? unless i'm interested in playing on the go?
I went ahead and cancelled my PS+ account that I've probably had for like 10 years. These guys are raising it to $95+ tax a year for the lowest tier now lol. This is up from $70 so not a small increase. This is the cheapest way you can play online now.
If they have put out great games every month then it wouldn't be a problem but it seems like twice a year they put out a free game that I actually download.
The new prices
PlayStation Plus Essential 12-month subscription — $94.99 (previously $69.99)
PlayStation Plus Extra 12-month subscription — $154.99 (previously $114.99)
PlayStation Plus Premium 12-month subscription — $189.99 (previously $139.99)
I played through two of the divinity’s and the first chapter of BG, I think I prefer the overall mechanics of BG better although had a great time and both divinity games were great
Skinny are you playing on PC?
My computer bit the dust so I may have to buy it again for PS5 but I’ve never really played a game like this with a controller

Yup I'm playing on PC. I think I am getting close to the end? It's going sloowwwwwww. I kind of just want it to be over so I can go play Starfield. Some of the quests in act 3 are quite janky, as reported...
And not just that, but they don't seem to have the same polish as the rest of the game. They are working on it constantly though. I might just try to finish it today, skipping the rest of the side content. All my characters are maxed out at 12 anyway, for quite a while now lol.

Same - fucking greed at the worst level.
The plans in Turkey went up 500%. How anyone thought that would go over well is beyond me.
The ridiculous part is that announced nothing new to try and justify such an increase, it was basically just "oh by the way we're jacking prices up 30+% for the same mediocre service"
Fuck like stupid Baldurs gate is still $90+ tax. Wish I had bought it instead of Spider-Man 2, this game is a fucking slog. I’m begrudgingly playing it because I paid full price but ffs.. it’s just the same repetitive group fights time after time after time, the visuals and story are not making up for it.

BG3 was worth the price tag, you get 70+ hours out of the game.
Thought about purchasing rebirth but I played the remake and I didn't like it.
Combat is too fast paced for my old/stoned ass, I found it overwhelming at times having to juggle 3-4 characters in real-time. Apparently rebirth makes it even more convoluted.
I am a huge FF fan but can't justify spending $100+ on a game nowadays, not a fan of this trend. I'm gonna wait for a sale.
BUUUUUTT.... anyone pick it up? early thoughts? is it as great as you thought it was gonna be? how are the graphics and controls?
Ya, I traded a few games in for it.
Spent 83 hours and did pretty much all the sidequests and minigames except for a few end-game ones because I was pulling my hair out.
Sold it on Facebook Marketplace for $80 hoping to do so before everyone else started listing their copy. Will revisit the game again when it's like $30-40 in a year, lol.

I think classic mode would work best for you. Your character auto blocks and attacks, and you just issue special commands like you would in the classic turn-based Final Fantasy.

do ps5 / series x games ever drop to $30-40?
even used games at EB seem pretty pricy still like $60+?
In the context of FFVII Part 2, it probably will on the used market. Prices will drop when it inevitably becomes a PS Plus game like FFVII Part 1 a year after release.
There's not much replayability, it'll get ported to other systems, and most people will have already bought and beat it.

It's fine Honda. Takes a little time to get used to at the beginning, but once you get a hand of it, works great.
Larian did a fantastic job developing this game to work well on console, so lots of qualify of life features for console/controller users. I never actually felt like I needed a mouse and keyboard to play this game properly. Inventory management was maybe the more annoying part, but even then, it's not that bad.
It's easy to transfer items between party members, and the best part, potions and such are shared between the entire party, meaning you don't need to make sure each party member has potions, you can pretty much have one potion mule and everyone can access those items.
Trust me, the game is fantastic on controller, the devs spent a ton of time making sure of that.
Yea played about 6 hours today in it, amazing what they’ve done with using the controller. The way you’re moving your selected character leaves nothing wanting with a mouse and selecting party members etc. almost seemless even for me who has never played a turn based game like this with a controller. Really well done
