Only the second time driving the car this year. Cars4covid rally.

Went to a bunch of seniors homes and the hospital. Nice to see all the seniors waving and cheering. Even have people in folding chairs on the street watching. You guys should check if there is one in your area and go.

That was a good meet yesterday. No one to disturb, plenty of space to social distance. The only open business there is the hotel and you damn well know they’re empty

Untitled by GhstRidr, on Flickr

latest pic of (my dad's) whip. I borrowed and mobbed this thing up the duffy on the weekend. What a wonderful road to appreciate the torque of the TDI w the brains of the DSG gearbox. These things are quick. When the warranty runs out I hope to get it out to Malone for even more get up and go.

TLDR for the VW nerds: this is a very rare car. 2015 refresh was only for sale for a few months before dieselgate struck. At the time my dad had a 2013 tdi wagon. He totaled it in 2017 right when the diesels went back up for sale. He was able to partner w a rebuilder who got the 2013 put just back together enough to be eligible for the buy-back program. Ended up with this 2 year old (but sold as brand new) 2015 from VW.

I'd buy if from him if he ever sells, but there's nothing really on the market quite like this. I think he'll run it into the ground.

Wow so we both have Ms and our dad's have Ds...LOL

I love the torque this car has. I hope soon enough we will get it tuned as well to open up the top end. Right now it's perfect in the city to move around in. Having over 410lbs-ft of torque makes this 5er feel light and agile in the city to move around traffic lanes, get away from intersections and quick highway passes. Launch control is an absolute riot when I use it at a red light where my lane is ending ahead. The ZF8 gearbox makes seamless shifts similar to dual clutch transmissions with true manual like paddle shift that won't upshift automatically if you hit the 5500 redline. This one will probably be a keeper too in the family. We love it's efficiency, for example, some of my commutes from Coquitlam to Langley can net me a hair under 5L/100km. It's amazing that some tuning can make it even better!

Wow, 5L/100km that's crazy. Didn't realize diesel BMWs were that efficient.

Super rare to see a Golf TDi wagon > 2015! Lots of HB available ... this is a keeper!

So the HB which presumably is lighter should be just as fun if not more so? Especially with a Malone Tune!

I absolutely love the Malone tune I got for my Jeep, I wouldn't hesitate to get their tune for the VW. Driveability is massively improved and the bump in power is nothing to sneeze at either.
