Daniele Di Vincenzo had planned to spend another month in Florida, but when the prime minister told Canadians to come home, he and his wife Rosanna packed up.
When they boarded their Air Canada flight in Orlando on Sunday, they expected to be screened, but nobody asked about their health, said Di Vincenzo, 70, a resident of Bolton, Ont.
“We just got on the plane and nobody said anything,” he said.
“We got into Toronto, same thing.”
At Pearson airport, the Di Vincenzos say they were given a pamphlet telling them to stay home for two weeks. Other than that, they found none of the COVID-19 screening they had heard about.
As Canadians have poured back into the country over the past week, many have told Global News they did not witness the kind of health screening promised by the government.

Us is thinking about putting troops on the Canadian border. Who the fck wants to go to the US? I can imagine a bunch of troops getting sick because they are all living in tents.

Trump had suggested bolstering U.S. military presence at the border to help guards in their attempts to catch irregulars attempting to make the move south, sources confirmed to CTV News.
According to the Canadian government they have only about 1000 people that try to cross illegally to the US every ear.
And how are we suppose to screen people? Tests still take days.
maybe they shouldn't say they've put in place screening measures that aren't there.
And if they can't even have those measures in place, how are they supposed to enforce mandatory quarantine for those returning?

I'm not sure why the screening hasn't been enforced. Obviously there is a protocol to it and its either not being properly communicated or who are supposed to be enforcing simply aren't doing their jobs.
What's the alternative to the mandatory quarantine however? It's black and white and regardless of any screening its the travellers responsibility to follow that. We can't task a police officer to follow them home individually. It's the same as every other law. It's only illegal when you are caught.

For anyone deciding to start delivering through various food delivery apps to make an extra buck during these times, make sure you call up WorkSafeBC to set up an account. You should have done so prior to COVID-19, but it is more important more than ever right now because if you contract COVID-19 through your employment, WorkSafeBC will look into covering you for any time loss/medical bills. The food delivery companies do not cover drivers for anything. I think it is the same for both Uber/Lyft.

So China's number should be at LEAST double what it is, but most likely should be over 1 million.
As soon as they open up for a week, it'll start all over again. Countries better keep their borders closed for real this time.
Also they'll lie about it so we'll have to be vigilant and figure out where their new outbreaks take place. They will not want to "lose face" and you just wait and see the disgusting propaganda that comes out as they cheer themselves for "defeating" the virus while the world suffers, and show themselves off as saviors to the world.
I thought you were for smaller government and less spending? Now you want the government to spend more money and hire more people? What gives?
I expect the government not to lie and give people some false sense of security about these measures that aren't in place.

China closing their borders to all foreigners starting tomorrow, including residents, though I'm not sure anyone in their right mind would want to go there now.
BTW they kicked foreign press out a few weeks ago. So there will be very little true information coming out at this time.
It's up to Chinese people who let the world know what is going on, and that'll be a sacrifice as they'll be disappeared as soon as they speak up.
So is Canada legit printing unlimited money till dec 2021 now or was that just a proposal like when JT proposed people had to get a permit to be a "author" when the rebel media guy published a book criticizing him.
Sorry this thread moves way too fast for me to keep up. Coworkers in a group chat are saying you can’t carpool and it’s a $1000 fine if you have someone in the car with a different home address.
True? False? I told them false because I haven’t found a credible source, but say it’s not a bad idea to segregate driving anyways with cheap gas.

Can anyone verify that Vancouver police are ticketing people 1000 buck. For driving with a passenger with a different address? 1000 bucks each

It's false. Have not seen it on the news or any news site. Only place I have seen it is on whatsapp.

Two of my kids moved out a few years ago (different addresses). All three of my children went shopping once a week with me in the SUV. No more. When one of them wants something from their old home, I bring it to them via trunk of car. COVID-19 = home breaker!
Gulolol.
Being asian dad, I never hugged them anyway, so no biggie as far as that's concerned.
feather duster................ omg, actually, I never did that. My scary, eyes popping out of head, stare was enough. Even scared their friends and their parents.
