And this is why we have to force everyone who is flying to Canada international travelers, Canadian in quarantine facilities and make sure people stay there 14 days. We should have done this way back in Feb.
FOR OUR HEALTHCARE COMMUNITY
Earlier this week, we were able to donate over 1000 pairs of shoes to the front line healthcare professionals in the fight against COVID19. We were blown away by the communities to support those in need.
While looking for new ways to support the COVID19 fight whilst balancing the needs of our Vessi family, your suggestions on how we can support led to a resounding response.
Vessi is now offering a sale that donates a portion of the profit to purchasing masks. Here is an example of a company adapting to the economic reality of the situation and trying to do a bit of good in the process.

I don't even look at the numbers I look at how the gov handle the situation. We knew about the CoVID19 outbreak in Feb yet the gov did nothing to prepare for it. Look at TW they close their boarders, start testing people for temperature. Stop the sell of facial mask and other PPE equipment to ship out. Start a limit on the number of facial mask and other goods you can buy per day.
On the other hand when other countries like the states and Aus and other parts of Europe ban Chinese traveler from entering if they been in China for 14 days we welcome them with open doors, no checks, no advice to self isolate, no quarantine just open door. Then Iran were hit hard and again we did nothing. There are video and even news outlet pointed out that at our airport people aren't advice they need to self isolate when they came from a country with the CoVID19 outbreak, they weren't ask any questions related to their health. Even then people can lie about it.
It wasn't until last week when our PM started using stronger words "Asking" anyone who is traveling back to Canada needs to self isolate. Self isolate not quarantine. At least he could have people quarantine in a central facility with doctors and nurses on standby and have law enforcement guarding the entrance to make sure people don't leave till 14 days are up. Just because people are ask to self isolate doesn't mean they will do it willingly. Look at my pervious CBC did a video who why this self isolate and how people can't easily lie to get into Canada. There is also videos of people purposely lie about them having a fever but said no or not mentioning they have a fever coz they weren't ask.

But the way CCP dealt with it should definitely be held accountable.
Every country would try to downplay epidemics, it's just natural. But going out of your way tried to bury it... again, FUCKING TWICE is NOT the way you do things.
You can't say that we shouldn't hold CCP accountable because others tried to bury it too. Fuck NO! Others tried to DOWNPLAY it... and we get it... anyone would do the same. CCP tried to BURY it. If I'd have to trust CCP, I think I'm fucked.
It will never happen the world is too used to "made in china" since is cheap and also other 3rd world country own too be debt to China to change things.

We don't have the facilities or manpower to lock up thousands of people. Just imagine all the different dietary and medical requirements

I disagree. We absolutely have the manpower (military) and the space (hotels which are empty now anyway).
But who is going to cook the sou free vegan meal someone requested. We also have minors who were on school trips. The best thing to do is fine people who break quarantine. It will be hard to track them but when it hits the news someone got fined 50k people will smarten up.

Don't be too confident. At the height of its glory, it was unthinkable that Detroit would ever bust. But it did. When iPhone came out and MS still kinda dominated the mobile OS sector, it was unthinkable MS would ever be dethroned. But it did.
I'd go a step further and tell you why I think many countries would be shifting their dependence on China's fabrication this time: China chose to block the export of medical supplies and more or less temporarily repatriated foreign invested factories that produce these medical supplies in the name of National emergency.
Countries with heavy investment in military now saw the strategic importance of those supplies. And you can bet that they are going to basically outlaw (say... put a super heavy import tariff) the possibility of producing these strategic supplies abroad. Heck, I'd say that they saw the strategic danger of outsourcing any essential stuff abroad... especially in a country where it's not exactly governed by law because the laws are written at will to facilitate a party.
I suspect that after this, the whole production chain migration out of China will only accelerate. It was already in progress with the whole trade war going on. The way that CCP handled it would only expedite the whole process.
If China still relies on being the "World Factory" to maintain its economy, it's going to be in a huge surprise.
More good info. Hopefully this will convince the people who say they won't do it unless their govt tells them to. Maybe they'll listen to OTHER govts that have proven to be able to "flatten the curve" somewhat, by making masks compulsory.
Spanish flu... was NOT from span.. Spain told another country they found a flu coming from France... but of course.. this 'discovery' came from Spain...but bashed against spain for eonss
IIRC Spain got the blame for it because they were the only not lying about their numbers because they weren't involved in the war.

It's really hard to breathe with this on...
Can't imagine myself going for a jog with it on.
I've been wearing an N95 every time I go out for weeks now. Whether it's going to see the wife on a daily basis or shopping. Disposable gloves and hand sanitizer before entering and leaving a building. I wipe down steering wheel, shift knob, radio controls, screen, door and trunk handles. I also wipe down the phone and take off my shoes and socks before entering the house. Jacket is left in the garage. I wipe credit cards, too, if they are in contact with a machine (where and when tap doesn't work). I clean my glasses too and leave it in the garage. I have a second pair for use inside the house. I wipe down everything I bring home from shopping. I had three cases of Lysol wipes before this pandemic even hit. Lysol spray bottles, refills, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, you name it.
Yeah, I'm a germaphobe.............. and paranoid. But, I still go out.
I also wear the P100 low profile mask that I purchased from Lee Valley. I have two years worth of replaceable filters and two spare masks. Will use that when my supply of N95's (5 left) runs out.

You are right. There is a distinction between cover up versus burying _*insert whatever history lesson____. 99% of the countries have done both, in this COVID19, China did bury the first few doctors. No doubt.
The doctors are now proven heros and no longer guilty. Too late still.
Downplaying to a new low like what Trump is doing... downplaying masks are "not needed" when it's CLEARLY super helpful... is that lying? i don't know... just as guilty? I don't know.

We always have the man power, we can always put the army to man the phones to deal quarantine. It's really to leverage the best value to do what is needed.
As per Prof. Jack Lindsay U of Manitoba
There are differences between (Canada at least) Emergency act versus provincial and federal state of emergency.
-controlling movement
- forcing people to evacuate an area
-closing down public or private places
-the requisition of property
-power to search properties without a warrant.
The most critical one is the power to suspend rights during the time of the crisis.
My thoughts below: if BC has the right to take over buildings, i'm sure hotels are considered, but why has it not:
1) openness of area, ease of access, and mobility. which is why stadiums / conference centers are always first and a lot of the parks are being used first as testing center.
2) Private versus public sector. There are collateral damages when you access private property on state of emergencies like this.

MS versus Apple is a legit example, however, the core of everything is still made in China. China being still the most used for production is due to their ability to scale. I don't see China losing this round anytime soon. (Yes, Cambodia, Vietnam / Pakistan are still good runner ups). Mind was blown when you go to SZ + BJ and Shanghai; they are light years ahead of us on day to day app / payment / ordering / social accessibility functions. Heck 1 industry... Telsa is good, but there are 4 runner up who are in that sector that are just on par (if not equal).
This gives you an idea on how the US fucked up so bad. This isn't all on Trump, he's mostly just a clown. This isn't as bad as maliciously covering up and silencing people who try to expose, but it still shows an amazing level of incompetence.
