This isn't exactly coronavirus related but if anyone here has a contract with Steve Nash Sports Clubs and is able to get a refund through their CC -- shoot me a PM. FYI they're filing for bankruptcy soon.

So, Summer Olympics has been delayed for a year. I don't think this thing is going away. If it ends, there's no guarantee it'll be business as usual. Even if a vaccine is discovered, the virus or another strain will replace it. I'm not going to any sporting event or concert ever. Actually, it's easy for me. I don't pay money to watch anything. just television.
If I want to go see the circus, I save money by logging onto RS..............

If there has been one positive in all this bullshit, I do believe that the vast majority of people are understanding, what benefits the majority, will benefit yourself as well.
There has been a lot of support for the community from so many different avenues, and I think some people that may have forgotten, are now remembering that caring for those around you through simple gestures are almost always reciprocated.
Why are people mad at those for hoarding toilet paper but not angry at those that are hoarding housing? Why did people not respect the grocery store workers and the fast food employees before, when now they need to rely on these people? These are questions people are asking themselves and a shift is happening.

This is just one example............. again, could be fake news, but.

I think when this all over people will just go back to their ways in a few months and forgot what happen. Personally there are few times I have to laid it out customers the reason why we aren't sending any tech to connect your service because you just return from a country where there is huge outbreak of CoVID19 and we are doing this to protect yourself, the community and our tech. There is more than a handful of times where I almost wanted to tell people wake up from your dream and come back to reality and this isn't about you only. And of course you have people who call in right away asking if we are going to crediting their bill coz of CoVID19. Dude you haven't paid your bill in 3 months that have nothing to do with CoVID19. It really brings out the true nature of human lol (myself included when I saw 5 packs of wet ones on the shelfand left 1 for other people to buy).

Steve nash gym is going to have a tough time. paying out severance and all the benefits is crippling them hence they were laid off, then fired in next email and now they are having issues doing the numbers.
what i'm not really liking right now are 2 things
1) companies asking you to buy gift cards to help them stay afloat... but..... i can't see if they will close down in 2-3 month's time...
2) all these go fund me page... whom i'm not sure if I can continue to support all.
Small businesses association, food industry go fund me, all these people who need help... i'm really unsure how getting 25k and then they will have an application on how the funds get distributed...
if i'm going to donate... i'm going to just buy something from the mom and pop stores....

I mean actually?
We live in a time where global poverty is at its lowest rate recorded.
Quality of life has increased for the masses. And famine has been drastically reduced.
Care to guess why? I'll give you hint: NOT socialism

So I was doing some Google and it seems like there is really no difference between N95 mask vs KN95 mask other than what country certificate not is what US FDA is and kn95 is what China use but they are the same. The dates is running out of n95 so why not order some kn95 and use them for now

My employer is temporarily making parking free at the hospital I work at, so I opted to donate what I'd normally spend on parking to charity. https://www.timescolonist.com/news/l...l-1-1.24109330 Quote:
Hospital parking fees will be suspended for patients, staff and visitors at all health authority-owned and operated sites in the province effective April 1, B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix said Monday.
The controversial fees were suspended in an effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, he said.
“This change makes it easier for individuals to avoid touching screens and buttons at payment kiosks that may have been touched by someone previously,” said Dix. “And it also supports physical distancing measures that have been mandated by our provincial health officer.”
The change is effective until further notice.
The Provincial Health Services Authority is also temporarily suspending payroll deductions for parking fees. B.C. Transit ProPASS payroll deductions for staff and medical staff are also being temporarily suspended in communities where B.C. Transit is waiving transit fares, said Island Health.
Hospital parking fees bring in about $40 million in gross revenue each year across the province, up from $15 million in 2003, Dix has said. The province has been studying whether to scrap the fees.
During the B.C. NDP convention last year, delegates called on the province to eliminate hospital parking fees for patients and families, saying they create “a hardship during some of the most stressful moments in a family’s life.” A resolution passed by delegates said the fees “give private companies the chance to profit from parking violations incurred by sick or grieving people using a publicly run service.”
Not all hospitals on Vancouver Island have pay parking. People visiting patients at Victoria General, Royal Jubilee and Saanich Peninsula hospitals pay parking fees, while at the Campbell River and Comox Valley North Island hospitals, parking is free.
At Royal Jubilee, parking fees vary from $1 for the first 30 minutes and $1.50 each hour after that at the main emergency entrance to parkade fees of $2.25 for the first hour and $1.25 for each additional hour, to a maximum daily rate of $16.
Island Health collected $7.9 million from parking fees in 2018. In 2015-2016, it cost about $3 million to maintain the lots — including $1 million paid to Robbins Parking, the contractor hired to police them.
Much of the revenue from parking fees goes to hospital foundations and to support health-care services. In cases where there is a need or people are in hospital for a long time, health authorities frequently waive parking fees, the minister has said.
Almost all of the parking management in B.C. hospitals is contracted out.
HospitalPayParking.ca, an online site aimed at ending “the obligatory pay parking trap and [advocating a] transition to something better that works for everyone,” posted in January the results of a Freedom of Information request for parking-violation statistics for 2018-2019 at Island Health facilities.
Results showed that 67 per cent of the 13,105 parking tickets issued at Vancouver Island hospitals went to hospital staff, including doctors and nurses. Of those 13,105 tickets, only 4,660 were paid.
The data showed not a single public vehicle was towed in that year at any Island hospital for failing to pay parking fines, but 13 staff vehicles were towed. Each ticket nets a $25 fine.

There'd be a huge surge of nationalism that I'm not even joking. The havoc and lives taken by this virus would not be easily forgotten. Especially in hard hit countries like US/IT/DE... Worse, it's going to be easily exploited. It's the first time we human in modern history, has basically been brought down to our knees to fight this instead of just carrying out our life during other pandemics.
And US, with Trump being the ass he's always been is going to be all out on this. I predict that Trump will announce an alliance kinda thing after the virus and either you are with the US or you are against the US (in principle). Canada/Mexico are unlikely to not be on board while EU/UK might join as well after some debate or they will create another one.
China will probably call one on its own with Russia
Middle East (OPEC more than anything) will probably form another alliance.
And the rest of the world would more or less take side or stand independent (if they can)
Not very different than airline alliances.
Then, instead of outsourcing to certain country, say China, South Asia or Africa, each member of the alliance would take the part they are best at. Say MX will specialize in low-end, CA provide natural resources while the US does financing/tech.

I'm thinking years now, if not months).
