Not everyone affected voted for Trump. In fact, the hardest hit states didn't.
Maybe people should remember that before they castigate that entire country.

Missed this yesterday: Japan Bans Visitors From 70+ Countries Indefinitely

Finally taking it seriously. Japanese nationals who are coming in will ALL be tested, and will be asked to quarantine for 2 weeks

Dr. Michael Osterholm suggested this would be the case, citing how common obesity, heart disease, and diabetes are in America.

It's not about the content of this information, it's about the timing and purpose of such message.

CIA/FBI/NSA work on very high level of secrecy if they wanted to. If they didn't want to make this information public, there's no way such information would ever be made public.

IMO, it paves the way on how things are going to be handled going forward.

One'd be curious the repercussions (or maybe intentional) that these going to lead to.

This blog post by the drop shipper I use is actually a quite helpful guide lol

IMO N95 or KN95 is not really worth the price... I would just get their surgical masks that are $0.65 per

That's just me though

You realize that US Intelligence (along with its Five Eyes partners) were probably aware of this months ago. The only reason this information has been leaked is because it likely no longer poses a threat to operational considerations.

Try 3 hours, and in some cases even 4 and 5 hour waits. Discussions ongoing about this over on Reddit Personal Finance Canada.

Another pastor kept his church open in France. 2500 infected, 17 dead. He is sorry to god for being selfish.

If states are dumb enough to exempt churches, I hope that whoever is running them has more sense than "faith", for the people who follow them often don't know any better than those kids that go to the beach.

That pastor is going to hell............. but, he'll just ask for forgiveness, and get it.

Selfish indeed. Dude could have just asked his followers to send money electronically to his church and give his message of god, electronically. god's messengers will always take money in all and any situation.

Organized religion. Nuff said.

As much as this is a human disaster and its frightening to have an invisible enemy and no idea whether you are next or not despite whatever precautions you take.

One little thing that did bring me some peace/clarity with all these death toll numbers being flashed in our faces every day was to look at another massive destruction of human life... world war 2...

Think about this for a second -> world war 2 lasted 6 years... 6 long years from beginning to end and an estimated total of 70-85 million people died in 6 years.

That's 32,000-39,000 people dead on average EVERY SINGLE DAY for SIX YEARS.

This virus, horrible as it is, isn't even making a dent in comparison.

They have spies in their allies countries. Imagine how deep their Intel is on China.

That really will be the benchmark until we have space wars or some kind of virus that completely overwhelms society.

The red army lost more soldiers in 1 day (multiple times by some accounts) then this Corona virus will take over months.

I think I'd rather get covid then be raped/tortured/murdered by IJA, so clearly Corona virus is not comparable to ww2.

I will be interested to see if anyone tries to get reparations from China like they did from axis forces in ww2

It looks like the media is trying to get governments to disclose worst case scenario modelling. Doug Ford is telling people to be prepared for a wave of new infections. All Trudeau had to say this morning was to remind people to stay home and likening the sacrifice of saying at home to doing your part during a war.

Yet, people are going to grocery stores in groups and not practicing physical distancing in stores themselves. Clerks are getting yelled at for trying to enforce safe shopping. I know people who are going between houses and sharing meals with relatives from separate households. I guess we have to see hundreds of thousands on ventilators before people smarten up. Or, maybe just an influencer posting an Instagram story in the ICU.

In this order:
Commission payout then severance payout (if you're in sales).
THEN you qualify for EI. Up to max ~$500 a week on EI.
THEN you get COVID package if its still there when you finish up your EI.
You can't double dip.
There is technically "no wait" now. Back then, you have to deal with RoE (record of Employ) and then all these waiting time... now they bypassed it.

DON'T bother calling EI, cause the wait is 2 hours unless you call at 5:30 AM PST.
Dunno bout that, my friend applied and they asked for an ROE.

I live across from an apartment building that seem to be full of internationals (young, single, fobby looking). Every single night they seem to have a gathering of 5 or 6 of them together cooking, eating, playing games. During the day the place is single occupancy. Is this shit reportable to some bylaw officer?

The big difference is that economies roared during ww2.
This virus has suspended them indefinitely.

This is like the population of Surrey AND Vancouver in an area the size of Central Park in Burnaby. RIP
