Thankfully, a real medication was developed from it - Ursodiol or UDCA (recognize the latin for "bear" in there?). It is the exact same ingredient as bear bile salts, but in synthesized form.
The medicine cured her completely, it was super effective. It would also be good for anyone with liver problems due to alcohol or steroid abuse, by the way. Also available in another form with conjugated taurine added - TUDCA. This is not a pharmaceutical, you can buy it as a supplement, and is said to be even more absorbable.
Anyway, my main point is that there are definitely some TCM that are efficacious and call for more research and development. But there is often NO NEED to keep extracting it from animals when a synthetic form is just as good if not better. It just kills me that their government promotes that type of thing, in order to "gain face" right when this whole shit was caused by it in the first place.
That's my general view on any alternative "medicines" like TCM. The stuff that actually works ends up turned into normal medicine, the rest does nothing, so it's pretty obvious which ones work and which are junk. The stupid thing is the gov't could easily push the funding into synthesizing everything and actually have something to brag about instead of this made up bullshit they pedal now.

Someone cut open the mask and find out there is 4 layer inside. Seems pretty decent. Maybe someone that's currently I'm HK or China can dig deeper if the manufacturer of the mask good or bad?

Oaky, that tune is about as catchy as the Thelusian Flu.
I would use that website as an example of a "teachable moment." Commercialization of products, situations, and other topics tied to the negative effects of media awareness.
but that's just me............... today's world. Confuse the hell out of anybody, including and especially, children.
I swear, the degradation of our society started with the airing of Sesame Street. Watch how children sit in front of a TV while watching that show. It's like brainwashing with flashing lights, things happening at lightning speed. Sensory overload. There's something to be said about learning in a calm environment. Mr. Rogers, Gentle Giant, etc. Basal readers. WTH happened to them? And spelling............ it's less important that the content, they say. Yeah, if you can't communicate it to others, what's the point? Then, there's the absence of teaching the golden rule from our schools /rant. LOL.

Here's another important podcast to listen to. He goes over the very latest information on the virus, including treatments that may or may not work, etc.
The most important thing to come out of the podcast is the fact that the demographics data from China is not matching up with what we're seeing in Italy, Spain, and USA
This is VERY VERY important. I know this thread is kind of all over the place now, to the point where I'm going to have to start pruning posts (seriously keep your thirsty shit in the other forums).
This whole time we've been operating under the assumption that if you're under 70, you're probably going to be fine, with the exception of some random cases.
This does NOT appear to be the case. People in their 20's to 50's are making up a huge number of the infirm. Up to 40%
Dr. Hotez speculates that it could be due to genetic differences, but he obviously has to say bullshit like that to be able to work with scientists in China. Others speculate that it's due to the health of the average American being lower by average (and there is definitely a separate correlation there, including poverty). My new theory is that these make up the bulk of the unreported cases and deaths in China.
Whatever the reason may be, take this seriously - you are not looking out for your grandparents anymore. You are looking out for yourself. If you STILL aren't taking this seriously (and there are plenty who aren't, many lurkers here aren't), you better start doing it now. (note that the mortality rate is still much higher with the older patients)
Germans could soon be issued "immunity certificates" that would allow them to leave the country's coronavirus lockdown earlier than the rest of the population if they test positive for antibodies to the virus.
States across Germany are in lockdown, with strict quarantines imposed in some parts of the country.
However, researchers at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig want to send out hundreds of thousands of antibody tests over the coming weeks that could allow people to break free of the lockdowns, Der Spiegel reported on Friday.
If the project is approved, the researchers will test 100,000 people at a time starting in early April, Der Spiegel said.
The tests are designed to detect whether a person has developed antibodies to the COVID-19 virus, indicating that they were at one time a carrier and may have built up immunity.
A positive test could allow the person to leave the lockdown while many positive tests could allow governments to ease restrictions in areas with "herd immunity."

I think this is also partly due to the fact that during the first lock down in China, young people didn't go out and gather much. Everything was closed and it was hard to leave your apartment complex so less young people were contacting the virus.
In America and Italy, young people were being isolated less so much more were getting infected.
If any country has experience in regulating and tracking people with 'papers', it's Germany. They should come up with fun armbands next to easily indicate if individuals have the correct 'antibodies' to allow them to roam freely.

They should also have the option to donate their antibody-rich plasma
Smart thinking, hope their tests are more reliable than the chinese ones though
Yea i thought it was pretty clever.
Can you even transfer antibodies? Is that possible?
I have no idea.

The first case of HIV being treated to the point the virus was no longer detectable was through blood transfusions from a person who had genetic immunity. Craziest part was it was an accident, as the transfusions were related to the recipients cancer treatment.

Looking for ways to clean my N95 masks and re-use them since they don't recommend putting them in the oven. One of the methods the CDC recommends is using UVGI/UV-C light. (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...spirators.html)
Don't believe everything you read though.
My uncle was saying the media has been falsifying a lot of stories.
Looting, mafia recruiting for employment. lot of things they were saying weren't happening, he says.
I'd be interested to see the report that they only referenced.

This is the article that's quoted, the paper teamed up with the research firm to conduct the investigation doesn't look like they posted the whole report tho, state its ongoing https://www.ecodibergamo.it/stories/...ni_1346651_11/

Yes they started doing it in China early on, and it looks promising. Hotez talks about it on that podcast as becoming the main treatment while a vaccine is developed (he mostly dismisses quinine based drugs, since those are based on very small studies, and some others showed no promise).

Singapore going on lockdown. They handled it well at first, but didn't close borders in time. Also their govt has a backwards mask policy compared to the rest of Asia. "Only wear a mask if you're sick" even when they sent masks to their people. Even after clear evidence of asymptomatic people spreading the virus.
Quote:
Up to now, the Government has advised the general public that you only need to wear a mask if you are not feeling well, as there was no community spread.
The situation has now changed, said Mr Lee.
There are some cases in the community going undetected, and there is evidence that an infected person can show no symptoms and yet still pass on the virus to others, he said.
"Therefore we will no longer discourage people from wearing masks," said Mr Lee.
So even with aggressive tracing, it wasn't enough since asymptomatic people are impossible to trace. That method is not the way to go, it seems.
That also leads me to believe there is potential for a huge second wave in Korea. Japan's first wave has yet to really hit. They are the strangest situation of all. It's almost impossible to make sense of it.
