Same could be said about Trudeau no? For the reasons Traum lined out

Like I said, the guy is a moron but he’s reacting. He should have been proactive but it’s too late for that

I don't think we can ignore the price of oil. Prior to COVID-19, Canadian oil producers have been suffering because the price of oil was low. Moreover, the cost of production for Alberta oil is still much higher compared to our competitors. The price of oil being where it is, is not something the government (regardless of which side of the aisle they sit on) can control. The Saudis, Russians, and the US are gonna keep producing at lower costs at the cost of fellow producers with higher costs of production. Even if you put a pro-oil government in power, Canadian producers will continue to be at a disadvantage regardless of how many pipelines they manage to build.

I PMed that AE101 guy on here last night who was doing the mask wholesale and told him I needed about 50 adult + 10 kids masks.

he told me it was $15 for ONE KN95 mask and $7 for ONE disposable medical mask +$10 shipping.

he then msged me a little bit after and said he got the prices mixed up and hasent replied back with the new prices so...

not sure if hes trying to rip people off or whatever, but if we organize an actual group buy it be way cheaper.

artcows works out to be about $3.75 a KN95 mask with shipping and everything if you buy 100.

https://www.artscow.com/masks

I need some kids masks... dont really need 100 maybe like 10 lol so if anyone grabs a bunch and can hook me up or put me down for a group buy lmk

I know Honda got a hard-on for Trudeau being at home... but isn't that kind of the example we're all supposed to be following? Working from home? I mean, let's be real it's pretty silly to assume the leader of a country is sitting with his jammies on and feet up watching Netflix when he's not outside speaking. I would safely assume he's on the phone or in video conferences 12+ hours a day.

Also I'm pretty sure Trump hasn't left the Whitehouse recently... so he's doing the same thing... it's just a much fancier home than Sussex Dr lol

Bailouts aren't free yo... it's gonna get a whole lot worse than a 2.5c carbon tax the next 10-20 years regardless what government is in place. I suggest moving elsewhere if that is going to be a source of concern lol

Right so instead of hoarding and perhaps causing trade wars (where do you think much of the material to make these masks comes from?) maybe work with the countries that CAN make enough for you?

Everyone is going to need masks soon, not just healthcare providers. Before they can even consider stopping the stay-at-home orders, countries are going to need to get enough masks in peoples' hands. Singapore is already doing this, Japan is starting to do it. There's just not enough though.

Everyone needs masks, we should work together to make billions and billions of them to share.

So, Huawei has quietly donated a bunch of N95 masks to BC and our Gov't has quietly accepted them. At first upon reading this I was pissed, but thinking about it further, if this greases the skids to getting Meng Wanzhou back to China in trade for a supply of PPE that will help protect our health care workers.. good deal.

2) I find it funny how people are criticizing JT for being too capitalistic compared to Trump

It was only a matter of time till a deadly virus came out of any country.
Bill gates had a ted talk years ago explaining that its not if but when it will happen. Don't be a trump. Intentional or not you are spreading hate and a negative stigma towards Asians by saying China virus. Which has caused a violent back lash from I like to call the uneducated population.

The fact that it started in China is not relevant and not what OP is referring to. The fact that the CCP tried to cover it up, including arresting their own citizens who tried to notify people that it was much worse than they were saying, is what's relevant. They continue to lie about the source, statistics, death toll, everything. It's dangerous. They kept the WHO in the dark, who the other countries rely on for solid information. They missed their chance at containment, and tried to "save face" by lying about it.

It's not racist to criticize the CCP. Quite the opposite in fact, because we should be supporting the people of China who are living under tyranny not by choice.

DURING A RECESSION.
No. You obviously can't put an exact dollar value until AFTER its implemented.
I can't think of another government on earth that has the audacity.
This party doesn't even have a basic understanding of economics.
We can't even see the rebound at the end of this tunnel yet and they're increasing taxes.
Ridiculous.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/delt...asks-resellers

Quote:
According to a police statement, a constable with the Delta Police Crime Reduction Unit was looking through online ads. She found an individual reselling the masks and reached out, agreeing to make a purchase.

The arranged price was $15 per individual mask, plus a $300 delivery fee.

The constable says that she met the seller, a Burnaby resident, on April 2. They met at a pre-arranged location and he was driving a luxury vehicle.

He was issued a $500 bylaw ticket for operating without a business licence, and police seized 60 masks, for which the seller was asking $1,200.

The second seizure took place on April 3. In this case, the police had arranged to purchase 3,000 surgical masks for $2,200. Similarly, this seller was issued a $500 bylaw ticket.
Im starting to think buddy on here actually didnt make a mistake and was actually trying to sell them for $15 a pop now

I agree. China did fck the dog with its initial stance on the virus. Trying to cover it up was not the way to go.. but that being said. Their response was unprecedented. I don't believe any other country could or did have the same level of lockdown and control.

Yes, it is china's fault for trying to hide it and potentially hiding the figures. But it is not their fault for the slow response and negligent of other countries such as the italy, canada and the US. There are plenty of other places who have taken up proper procedures at the beginning and have the virus well under control (Hong kong, Taiwan, Singapore, South korea).

Lets remember, it blew up to major proportions in china months before it hit other countries like the US. There was a solid 2 months of potential preparing time to stop a wide spread outbreak. Some countries have clearly reacted better then others.
