I can understand why some people think that way as we are all growing impatient, but even if the risk is relatively low with me, I'd rather not play it if I have the choice, and it's not hard to avoid it if you pay some attention. |
I definitely empathize with the feeling that people have of just wanting this to be over. It's an understandable reaction, but you really have to put some more thought into it if you're seriously considering it. If everyone decided to infect themselves at once, we'd have an Italy or Wuhan on our hands, as hospitals would be crushed under the load. Currently, as much as there's anecdotes of people out and about, Canadians are handling this pretty well by the looks of it, sticking to the stay-at-home directions. I just hope we can get masks into the hands of most of the population so when people DO go out (whatever their reason may be) it can be contained as much as possible. So I wouldn't call someone "stupid" for thinking this way. If they were to act upon it though, that's another story... It's easy for me and many others to say "just stay home, stop complaining" of course, since we have privileges like being able to live comfortably at home for weeks on end, having a partner to keep company with, etc. So I am not going to judge people who are distressed from this. Yes, others have it MUCH harder, the ones who are on the frontlines risking their lives, but for many even staying put is challenging. Not everyone is built the same way, that goes for physically as well as mentally. So I don't like some of the 'gatekeeping' I see. It's not frivolous to complain about having to stay home - cabin fever is a very real thing. Hang in there though. |

I kind of hesitate when ordering food too, in case there’s a psycho out there deciding to cough/spit/lick food they’re preparing to “help” infect ppl as there has been with pox :heckno: |

The rest was spent following the CCP controlled WHO's directive. Here's a comprehensive timeline. Grab some popcorn and have a read. Canada did what they were "supposed to do". They listened to the WHO. That's who you should take issue with for now. That does raise the question though; if you KNOW what your country is doing wrong, what do you do about it? In Hong Kong the citizens rose up and got the borders closed. In Canada, I was here arguing with people that this was serious shit, it's all in this thread on record. But most people were like the government - if WHO isn't saying it's serious, we're not going to listen to you. I went through the same thing on another forum, though they were much more receptive. But I went through it with friends on facebook, and then about masks until CDC and WHO finally agreed with the science. Hindsight is 20:20 though right? But nothing was at the same level of clusterfuck as the US if you read the tweets I posted... |
Quarantine lifted, it's safe to go out now! BrokeBack |

And i know i don't need to tell you that comparing their figures to ours as a x10 equation would be ridiculous given the nature of exponential growth. You already know this. If they had acted in the manner Canada has, their figures would likely be much much greater. https://www.businessinsider.com/coro...-events-2020-3 |
