Nobody knows what's going to happen one month to the next with this thing.
It kinda makes sense to apply it for one month, then reassess.
If it needs to be reinstated, it won't be difficult since there isn't much in the way of application or processing.

As of yesterday they are adding a salary coverage of 50% if people lose work due to this. This is paid to the employer who in turn pays the worker, without having to fire them or lay them off, for 5 months. Max salary (or payment, not clear on which) is $18K per month (so this could mean $9K but that seems low)

I was pretty surprised they sold at this time.
People want to take their quads and toys and get away for awhile since they aren't working.
So yes, there's definitely still money flowing in certain markets.

Has anyone received their CERB? I got way more than what they promised.

westopher 04-08-2020 06:10 PM

I just read an article about it. You were paid retroactively if you were off from March 14th (or a portion thereof) which was when shit hit the fan at first. So you got paid for your first month, which ends on the 12th and paid for the upcoming month.

I might have caught CoVID19. Starting this evening I felt really tired and have a chill. Rested a few minutes took my temperature and is at 38. I am usually around 36.5. I don't have issue breathing , no cough, no running nose. Did another temperature test just now and sitting at 38.6. E-mail my doctor about it. The reason I am a bit worry is because the Wal Mart I frequently have an employee with CoVID19 but the Wal Mart decided not to close it, or let the public know till a reporter got a tip and ask them
Then they admitted it.
https://www.tricitynews.com/news/cov...art-1.24115267
So the Wal Mart in question is the one in Coquitlam centre, The infected employee haven't been to work since March 22. So if anyone been to that Wal Mart from March 22 till and is showing symptom please be careful.

Oh no! Sorry to hear.

Make sure you keep an eye on new symptoms. Do not leave the house. If anything changes call 8-1-1 first.

There’s also this questionnaire that may help.

Take it easy. One of my classmate has caught covid too. She said she started having a stuffed nose and was sneezing, then dry coughs, the chill. Once she stayed in bed, she started having a fever and that's her body started aching. In the end, she recovered and so can you. Rest well!

josayeee 04-08-2020 09:28 PM

Dang that's rough dude. This scares me. May I ask how much PPE were you wearing?

I know it’s scary out there but remind yourself that it is flu season. If you can breathe fine, I’d suggest it is likely not COVID. I’ve heard more than once that unless you’re asymptomatic, it affects the respiratory system so bad it can feel as though you’re drowning.

Not a medical professional, just aiming to calm your nerves. Get well soon.

This will be the next big thing when people do their taxes next year.

"I can't believe they want taxes on that money when we were out of work, I can't afford to pay this now."

Hondaracer 04-09-2020 09:15 AM

Has anyone filed their normal taxes recently? Got your refund etc?

Bouncing Bettys 04-09-2020 09:26 AM

While people from all over are rising to the occasion when we need them the most, journalists and the media industry have failed horribly and have shown why they need to be completely destroyed and rebuilt from top to bottom. Watch some old clips of Walter Cronkite covering the news to see where they need to bring it back to.

Yes, I got my refund almost immediately. I believe at the moment, they are just giving refunds asap, and may reassess after.

Ch28 04-09-2020 09:49 AM

If anyone is on CERB, make sure you set aside like $500 of that amount for taxes next year, because the government WILL come for it.

File my tax more than a month ago and got refund.

As far as PPE goes I don't think I was wearing any mask till recently (like a week or a week and a half ago). I did wash more hands more often and use hand sanitizer as well. I was a bit skeptical about using mark early on (try it once in March and basically got schooled by a few people saying they don't protect anything and I should only wash my hands more often). Wasn't until April when I just say fuck it I am going to start wearing them whenever I go out and not just when I go to crowded place.

Contacted my family doctor he thinks is just a fever but if I show more symptoms give him a call ASAP. He also said I should not.be using Advil.
